- At age 22, Sarah Ransome says she became a victim of sexual abuse, and was threatened with violence, by Jeffrey Epstein. In her book, "Silenced No More: Surviving My Journey to Hell and Back," Ransome describes the traumatic childhood experiences that primed her to become a victim of abuse in adulthood by Epstein, facilitated by his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell. I understand all too well what she says about having no self worth or boundaries. I was sexually assaulted at 17, raped at 18 and sexually assaulted again on two other occasions. I am now 64 and have lived with the shame and all those same feelings she described in this interview. You live with so much fear it is suffocating. Only with therapy and doing the work to heal have I been able to get through all of it. My heart and my upraised fist goes out to all the people out there who have suffered through it. And I hope they find peace however they can. 🕉

The fate which awaits such abusers including Epstein in eternity is beyond horrible. He’ll wish he’d never been born. At the age of five, and eight years old, I KNEW the boundaries had been crossed, and did everything I could to avoid being near my abusers [a babysitter, and a 'trusted' good friend of the family]. We're not victims, we're overcomers, and we create our own boundaries. We are worth the value we put on ourselves, and not what others put on us.

I understand what she's saying. I know of someone who, because of similar trauma, has no boundaries, no internal alarm/warning system; something most develop while growing up. It's a very real lack, and subjects them to repeated risk.
I have the same issue due to financial and emotional abuse as a child. I have been in mostly abusive relationships than anyone i know.

Many commenting how she is not a victim have no idea what she went through and what others like her have been through. Some are ignoring the interview entirely and forming an opinion with no experience in the matter or any matter similar to what this woman went through. This further proves why many woman (and men who are sexually assaulted as well) remain silent for years because they have little to no support from anyone, effectively becoming the perfect targets for sexual abuse and sometimes, lifelong abuse of all kinds.
So true, if you do not have any experience (or education) with sexual assault & predators you JUST DON'T KNOW. AND, when you do tell you WILL be punished by some, in some way.

I met Ghislaine a few times at various NYC events and she was absolutely charming and had near amazing chameleon abilities. She could talk to you about anything, whether it was her love of the music of Enya to her ability to try and get attention to the cleanup if the worlds oceans, she was never without a topic.

If she really was abused why didn't she come forward earlier? It's very easy to tell all these stories against a dead man. If she really wanted justice she should of come forward when he was put in jail.
I am fairly certain she did. She is part of the Epstein Netflix documentary, which I thought began filming after his arrest. I know it was not speaking to authorities, but based on this brief interview, and stories from other victims, sounds like alot of these females were threatened to keep quiet. If I remember correctly, one of the first victims who reported Jeffrey years ago in the 90s (Maria Farmer), said she moved far away from New York, I believe to Colorado, and after a few years started to get some unsettling calls. In my opinion, more girls felt comfortable speaking out after his arrest, and now that he has died, continue to do so in order to put Ghilaine behind bars.
No one really complained that Epstein hit them.
Not a single one of them ever recounted they were slapped or punched. Not one.
I'm glad she finally feels free within herself. I've been there.

I literally was just thinking this very same thought. I truly believe there are so many more victims out there who didn’t want to come forward out of fear and embarrassment. Sad that there were so few to have their day in court and scary, too, given that Ghislaine could feasibly walk.

@@danusdragonfly6640 , I've just had an issue with the phrase grooming for a long time...I used to own a Sex Offender Treatment Program for about 25 years....I never suggested my clients to use the word "groom"...it really minimizes the impact of one of the worst variables in Child Sex Abuse...it destroys trust in others....
So in my program it was always "lured, lied, manipulated or conned" my victim...not groomed...that word was developed by academics to "pretty up" the lingo and make it more palatable for offenders to integrate...but it also minimizes the impact....everybody "grooms" others in some fashion in social interactions...it dosent connote malice.

The woman who was doing the interview she puts words in to the woman who wrote the book so I’m listening to it and the woman says one thing in and then the interviewer redefines her words and then the woman agrees to that... so a lot of it I’m listening to the interview or interpret which is very dangerous, I want to hear the victim own words

I felt the same.. she’s begging the question and it’s already validated in the actual Question. There’s no doubt that Jeffrey Epstein or Ghislaine Maxwell are guilty, but as a reporter, journalist, that is not an effective way to gather information.
The interviewer wasn't that great, but at least the story is out. I am following the Maxwell trial. Mainstream news is barely covering it. I am hoping Maxwell spills the beans on Bill Clinton and company after she is found guilty.

What makes me angry and confused is that he got away with this stuff for this long!! They could have nailed him in 2001 if the vanity fair editor has let the article go through. Instead, the former editor of VF blocked the article upon eptstein's request. That would have saved so many other women from abuse.
