when Bam linked up with HIM.. that couldve been the turning point of his career.. I mean the kid had it all.. he was mad talented, good at directing, good at skating, a pretty solid fan base... coudl of become one of the greatest directors of all times.. but he was surrounded by a pretty toxic crowd.. now everyone is doing fine and he is in a very dark place.
He's said himself that he was in awe of Ville Vallo (singer from Him) and he saw that he was drinking loads and would crack a beer in the morning like its normal. And that influenced him to do the same even though he saw it as weird to act like that. So you're definitely right.

It's easy to blame others when things go wrong, and unfortunately Bam seems to have a tendency to do so, although it's driving him deeper and deeper into this shit. He appears to be a very labile person, unable getting on with the death of his nearest friend and the rigors of show business.
