I know I wrote this story and knew what happened, but dang. Hearing the way Cam breaks all of our hearts with his beautiful narration has me blubbering like a child. Bravo, Cam 👏🏼😭💙
Finally the shy author of this story makes a comment 😊. Thanks for allowing me to feature your writing in my podcast. Everyone, meet Rebecca Lee Wesson.
That was one hell of a story!!! Beautifully heartbreaking & yes Cam does an amazing job bringing this & all the stories he narrators to life. Keep on writing Rebecca Lee you have an awesome talent.💜
My goodness.. What a story. And somehow I really wasn't ready for the reality of the end.. I loved it Cam. Your narrating as always caught me up into this wonderful story. Rebecca you've done a wonderful job of capturing my heart and mind. Thank you
My breath caught when she said she’d never grow old with Tina. My heart caught when she talked about the box with her name on it and the red cardinal (a bird that represents a visit from our dearly departed). The sniffle at the checkout (tattoo) confirmed it. And my heart broke and I cried like a baby when Tina took the box of ashes, jerky, and duct tape to The Hatman’s place. Cam, you have a way of pulling your audience right into the pages and bring to life the words written there. Even though it’s a story, it’s full of emotion. This is your calling in life my friend and I thank you for every story you tell. God bless you, your family, your dogs, and those pesky chickens in the background. 😊
That was an amazing story. Thank you Rebecca Wesson. Thank you Cam for a wonderful narration. One of the best stories I can even remember. God bless 🙏 and please don't stop writing.
Very well told sir.😊This story is the story of so many folks in my opinion. We all have faced diversity and pressures from those around us. We all know ‘words are very sharp and have longevity especially if coming from the one that should love you more than anyone. Parents can just destroy a child’s self esteem. It’s sad to think a child isn’t loved and nothing can be done to change that fact.😢This is a very cruel world we all live in. 😮 Thanks for sharing this story with me. This took me back to a place I once knew so long ago. A place I really didn’t won’t to go, but never forgotten.😢
A sad yet poignant story, Cam. Well written as well. I cant imagine that poor girl and what she had to go through to self harm herself like she did. But her one and only friend was the only kindness in life. Great narration, your tone was perfect, Cam. Thank you for the story.
Just finished listening and now I'm laying here blubbering like a baby❣️ That was a wonderful story of friendship, dreams, hardship, sacrifice, and loss. I loved it❣️👣
What a great story, Cameron. You absolutely NEVER disappoint me. This story had me in literal tears and I was driving just trying to keep between the ditches while this young lady was going through so much. She definitely had PTSD from her own mom and it broke my heart. Unfortunately for me, I could relate to her after a very mentally and physically abusive husband whose harsh words have never left my mind in 40 years now. I constantly have to remind myself that it is not who I am. So this was a little too close to home for me in more ways than one but I absolutely loved it. I'm so grateful to still be here and to have become a mother and now grandmother. You truly missed your calling because you are a wonderfully talented man and I hope one day you publish Steve Lily and now the Hat Man. I promise to be one of the first in line to buy them. Thank you dear man for the wonderful stories and I send you and Mrs Buckner lots of love from North Carolina ❤️ Sheri ❤️
OMG Cam, your ability to tell a story is such a gift. I cried as I listened to the end. It was beautiful and sad all at the same time. I don't know how you do it. How words that you speak become magical. They capture ones attention and keep you clued to the ending. Thank you Cam that was amazing story telling. I hope you continue to write and narrate as long as you possible can. You have a powerful gift. I feel extremely lucky to be able to listen to you share it so freely and happily. Good night
Kudos to the author of the story and to your professional and yet "friend next door"-like reading of the story. You have a way of making stories jump out and into our hearts. Thank you Cam.
To be honest cam! I love your stories it has helped me to get away from my problems for a while! Thank you for doing these stories and I'm a huge fan of your channel
I can't emphasize how well that story was written. Also, you made it so much better with your natural storyteller delivery. I have only discovered your shows a couple of months ago. I can seriously say that I'm hooked. I have listened to your shows every single day since discovering Dixie Cryptid. My 11 year old daughter listens as well when we are in my car. Please keep them coming, whether you think that they are good or bad. They are all fantastic with the way that they are told. Best Regards! (From Canada) Southern Ontario.
Thank you. Rebecca swore she wouldn't read the comments, but I hope she does and reads yours. She is a very talented writer and I will ask her to write more for us. This was a very good story. Thanks again,
Me too I dont know if with dixie it's an absolute faith thing or just an extra precautions to make sure I remember tge thumb up in the first place is allways easier if I do it before it gets going I mean he,s never steared us wrong but on a few occasions on ending on other channels if what ever said video ide take my thumb back and if tgey were really crap or pure a.i. ide unsub alltogeather
Sitting here listening to my buddy Cam waiting on a phone call from my daughter telling me I'm a grandma for the 10th time.. my 6th granddaughter and cams storytime.. thank you Cam for calming my nevers..lol
Cam that was a very good story. I kinda figured out it was some kind of ghost story from the title but wow 😲 It is so deep in so many ways. So trying not to focus on the sad side, in the end she gave her life to free her friend from the sad little town and ended up in heaven, quieting the horrible voice of her abusive mother forever. ❤ Thank you for sharing this story 🙏🏼
Proverbs 31:10 A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.” A good woman is not defined by her physical appearance or outward beauty, but by her character and inner qualities. Words of Wisdom from King Solomon...
That was awesome, Cam. Wonderful tale that warmed the heart. It presented a more profound and almost pleasant way of viewing death. Enjoyed it thoroughly. 😊 Thanks.
Wonderfully written and beautifully narrated. I could see in my mind’s eye the places described, the smell of the cigarettes,, the voice of the best friend. I shed a few tears and realized that this was a story worth telling. Thank you for sharing it with us. Well done sir- well done!
❤ What a beautifully written story! Hauntingly sad on so many levels, layered with the love of true friendship and sacrifice. Thank you, Cam, for sharing your narration, and to the author for their creativity. ❤❤❤
This was the most moving and poignant stories you've ever narrated. Probably the best I've heard on UA-cam. The question remains, "who is the Hat Man, and why does he torture the living?" I'm sure this is a work of fiction, but I'm writing this with tears in my eyes... probably from the nearby wildfires, not emotional, definitely not. Love the channel, keep up the good work.
You really got with this one. Absolutely magical. Even though nothing in the story surprised me, I found myself practically bawling at the end. (Right in the middle of working- how embarrassing!) This is a hell of a story. Thank you .
What a well-written story and you told it so well, Cam. A VERY talented author. indeed! My eyes are watterin' up, now. GREAT visuals too! I really loved those cloudy skies over the fields...the striking lightning flashes...the striking young lady soaking up the coming storm winds blowing through her dark hair...the rapt expression on her face...and, Oh...uh, YEAH...GREAT STORY!!! Sorry folks...I got a little bit distracted!😬😜
