We saw Ms Gayle at the Orange County Fair Yrs Ago. My husband was standing in line to get a soda & much to his surpsie, Ms Gayle was infront of him. He said her hair was up on her head so no one knew her. Within a minute, a lady came running up to her, asked for her autograph. That started a "frenzie". She was so "gracious" to everyone, but within a few minutes, Security came in & "Shielded" Her from Her "Adoring" Fans!! My Husband could not get over Her Beauty.
It's great to be able to see Crystal's age progression here on YT. From the cute country teenager, to the pretty and perky 20s, to the sophisticated and seductive 30s, to the mature and beautiful 40s, and on to the gorgeous woman she is today. And, she can also sing!! We should all be so lucky.
I remember seeing Crystal at the MGM in Las Vegas around 1981 and she came out singing this song first. I loved the song before then and it was a great song to start her concert. I still remember her standing there in a beautiful white dress and she was shy--such a beautiful woman inside and outside.
True story. She's pure class and sweetness. I could not find a CD of hers in stores or other places online. It had 2 songs I loved Faultline and the sound of goodbye. I guess it was on her private label at that point. I found it at her Crystal store in the Nashville Mall ( ? ). I sent the money order for it but never got it. I waited a few months and then emailed them to ask her office staff what up? It coulda easily been the post office's fault it has sucked for a long time. On my word alone, SHE HERSELF wrote me back and apologized fervently and then she sent me one! Omgosh. I wanted to cry. LOL I got the money order back! It was the mail's fault. I sent it Back to her ( with a little note explaining what happened ) I did not want to cost her any money that was only right to pay for the wonderful thing! Sweet lady.
I have seen Crystal in concert 3 times. Her Christmas concerts are something to behold. I was front row center, in Wabash, Indiana and at our Fire Fly Festival and it was like watching a beautiful, fairytale princess, on stage singing. Besides her beauty, elegance, and, grace, I can only think of one word to describe it all…CLASS! I Love you, Crystal! From an Indiana farm boy, I say: Thank you! ❤❤❤
I was obsessed with crystal back in the eighties.. I just loved everything about her. She? Actually appeared in concert in my Hometown and I went to the concert and this luck would have.It was able to meet her and shake her hand.. She was very kind and very sweet. Of course she was beautiful. That seems like a lifetime ago. I guess it was. But there was a time when she was everything and everywhere.
Dear Mrs. Gayle. I would like to send you a little note. Since these phones came about. We get to pay our respects to the entertainers. An hope they admire us in the same way. Now I wanted to say I'm like a country girl as well. Because I have family abroad overseas also. An believe me...when I heard this song I went breathless. I mean like I got blown away . I could get on stage with you an do a duet kareoke. That's how much I loved it. I wished I met you or been able to see your concert. But I just wanted to pay my respects. Hope we see you again. Enjoy the holidays. An be safe. Yours truly. Maria. New jersey...
One of the few "our" songs that I'd muster up the nerve to go out on the dance floor at the RoundUp with Glen Boudreaux. Crystal Gayle - always Crystal Gayle. Thanks, Glen, for always seeking me out when the dj would start to play one of her songs. I couldn't dance worth a flip, but you were so excellent that even with me we looked good out there. Good memories of an age gone by. Thank you, Glen... Bruce
@crystalgayleaddict Just saw Crystal in concert (October 15, 2010) and she was awsome. Met her afterwards..very warm, friendly person. If you get an opportunity to see the American Voices Tour with Crystal, Larry Gatlin and Andy Cooney, go see it. They are terrific!
we do not hear much of Crystal over in the uk.Its time for change.we need a singer like her to show the tv talent show wanabees how it should be done.COME on radio stations in the uk get Crystals songs on and not just the two that you play from time to time.America is very lucky to have Crystal Gayle doing shows, wished I lived in Nashville.Crystal was part of my life from my mid 20s on and all the boys were in love with her.and I know we still are, what a lady.Crystals songs really helped me a few times and gave me a lift when my blue eyes were really blue.and now she has done it again, didnt know all this material was available.Thankyou Crystal, brilliant.
I've followed this amazing entertainer’s career just about from the very beginning. I have always been a Loretta Lynn fan, and back in 1971 just after Crystal graduated high school she was singing background for Loretta at a show that I caught in Philadelphia, PA. I've met her twice and she is very gracious and friendly.
What can I say about this beautiful woman great entertainer and what a voice and she got it to day please crystal keep singing has long as you can please
She seems to sings without putting too much energy and effort into it and it just comes out so perfectly right and all she was born to do this she was meant to be on stage up n the spotlight.
Been a big fan since day one when she appeared on one of the old country TV shows with her sister. Have loved so many of her songs. . This is by far my favorite!!
She capture my heart creating a great illusion in my life. Really her's my air, my water, my life, my everything in this world. Always will I love her in silence.
On this day in 1980 {April 19th} Billboard Magazine published it's Hot Country Singles chart for the week ending April 19th, 1980... And for the first time in Country Singles chart history the Top 5 positions were held by female artists:: #1. "It's Like We Never Said Goodbye" by Crystal Gayle #2. "A Lesson in Leavin'" by Dottie West #3. "Are You on the Road to Lovin' Me Again" by Debby Boone #4. "Beneath Still Waters" by Emmylou Harris #5. "Two Story House" by Tammy Wynette (duet with George Jones) The following week Ms. West bumped Ms. Gayle out of the top spot, then Ms. Boone replaced Ms. West at #1, and finally Ms. Harris then moved into the #1 position {all four records spent one week each at #1}... "Two Story House" just missed reaching #1, it peaked at #2...
I have listened to you since I was 14. I still remember soooo many of your great songs! My most favorite is waiting for the time to get better. You are an amazing person that I have never forgotten in all of the years that I have lived through. Thank you for your time.
All of her songs were great..but I think this is the crown jewel of them all. I remember when I first heard it way back then and I was stunned. It sounds even more beautiful now. Nobody can sing this song like her.
I just saw her at the Grand Old Opry on February 24th. She still sounds great! I also enjoyed Jeannie Sealy, Connie Smith, the square dancers and more!
This song reminds me of my son who is now a Neuro-brain Surgeon and when he was very little he used to call this his good-bye song, not long after his younger now a Restaurant Manager called it that too so Crystal all that great music must have done them very well ...
thank you for this post after 25 years my first true love has come back into my life! it like we never said goodbye!!! he wanted marriage then but we where young ,so who knows what the future will bring wish i could sing id sing this for him!!
I remember the German version of this song with the title translated "I'd like to talk to you once again" which tells about a (still married) couple living in divorce. Performed in 1980 by the retired singer Stephanie Lindbergh from Switzerland.
Uma linda mulher, interpretando uma bela canção. Talento puro! Canta muito essa Diva da música Internacional.Sempre Maravilhosa..Sou fã dela desde "Hello y love you" de 1978... Inesquecível.
Yes, Crystal has the face of a goddess and voice of an angel. She is the most sincere and humble person you would ever want to meet.

Dad (83) saw his first concert. The glorious Crystal Gayle, with her amazing touring band. First time hearing this song.
one of the best voices the world has ever heard.
I use to dance this song all the time cheek to cheek. I miss that time. 23 years was a good place to be.
Doesn't get any better than Crystal
she is really a crystal, that never fades
