This is the best video I have found for proper care after vitrectomy surgery. My surgery is coming soon and I feel better prepared for this event after viewing this video several times. Thank you.

My daughter had a retinal surgery on Monday and we got minimal information. I wish I saw this on Monday but I learned a few important things. Thank you and good job!

How is she now? Has her vision returned to normal?

@@15minoffame The vision is much improved, but she is still very concious of the scleral buckle. After a long day at the computer for work, that eye feels sore and crabby. Thanks for asking!

@@vinodtura1593 It has been a year now. With her glasses she can see pretty well, but she doesn’t feel that it is “back to normal”. The eyelid never came back to how it was either. The effect is a smaller looking eye. While it isn’t that noticeable (to me) she is very conscious of that. She has resigned herself that it is what it is. Best wishes to your wife🙏🏻

I totally understand that. I was at a surgeon last week and he told me that I needed surgery and he scheduled me a week out. He didn't discuss anything at all. I have not had the surgery yet and I'm not going to until I talk to him about everything. Doctors need to explain everything to their patients but they don't. They don't have it bedside manner.

Your head is face down to help the gas in your eye float up and press against the retina to help heal.

super conservative, but seems like good advice. i had two of these surgeries and my discharge instructions were much less conservative.
