Unfortunately I can’t stand the taste of water. I barely stomach it. I know nothing is as good as water but my question is if I don’t drink as much water is Gatorade a good alternative?? If not is there any other good alternative??
Thank you so much. I'm 74 and just learning how my kidneys work. I feel responsible for living my whole life in ignorance but it's not all my fault. There's a culture of ignorance in the US to keep us stupid, obese and needing prescription drugs. Now I see the light and plan on helping my family and others to do the same.
Indeed, and it's scary how ignorant many nurses/doctors/surgeons are. There is also such a thing as drinking TOO much water. I wound up in the ER twice in two months due to serious dehydration. First trip, I spent two days there, and finally told them to send me home because they didn't do any of the tests they promised. Second trip, different hospital, the nurses and doctor kept telling me I need to drink more water, even though I kept telling them I was drinking 8-10 32oz glasses of filtered water a day! They also said I was deficient in at least 8 different essential minerals. Finally just did my own research, and turns out I screwed up. If you filter your water, make sure to get some sort of supplement to replace the vitamins/minerals that are taken out. Lemon, ACV, honey, black tea and things like that are great, but it's not enough. I am not very activate due to physical disability, so there was no reason to drink that much. In fact, it was likely flushing many of those nutrients out, which in turn were never being replaced. Also, it can be hard on certain organs(kidneys/liver, etc) long term drinking that much, as they never really get a chance to rest.
I was hospitalized due to hyperthyroidism, gerd, and anxiety. During the first few weeks of treatment, my doctor asked me to stop caffeine intake and other beverages too. Since then, I have learned to love water. It's been more than a year of just water and juices.
@@gracien2008 Yes. But I'd likely settle in water and fresh fruit juices since I have discovered I have IBS (though not duagnosed, but looks like it). But all is well. Bringing water around is such an essential. I no longer have dry skin, too.
@@JM-iw2if Indeed, it was. While I'm not a fan of caffeine, coffee in particular, I get really bad anxiety whenever I decide to consume even just 5 - 6 sips. It was always bad that I would throw up.
@@JM-iw2if absolutely! I stopped after about 15 years of drinking coffee, I’d have 2 cups a day MAX. I had pretty annoying withdrawals for 3 days. You just feel very groggy. You wake up with much more energy and sleep much better. You fall asleep quicker, and another major thing for me was my heartburn was completely gone! My stomach felt better too, coffee is very acidic so if you drink it on a empty stomach like I would feel like my stomach is burning. The only thing I miss is the taste and how it’s can be used as a diuretic. It helps a lot with constipation. After a while you’ll realize you do not need it. Now I avoid caffeine, I just don’t need another addiction sad to say.
I just started drinking more water about a week ago. There have been two days of relapse, drinking the same old soda and coffee. I've had issues drinking water since about the age of 14 or 15. My father was always gone overseas working and my mother for some reason would keep the house stocked with soda. We had well water but it was horrible (tons of sulfur) unless the filter was cleaned and since my father was always gone for months at a time, the filter was mostly green and nasty. So, I drank loads of soda and it became the new normal in life for the last 25 years. There have been a few times where I have quit drinking soda but would fill the gap with juices, more coffee, and teas. I would lose a ton of weight during those periods of time, however, someone down the road after a month or two would offer me a soda at a party or at work and the process would start all over again. Basically, I have been dealing with headaches for MANY years and many other issues like heart palpitations, body aches, fatigue, etc, etc. I decided to start research since doctors were not helping and figured drinking more water is the solution, and so far it has been! All the doctors were just trying to medicate, not a single one thought to look at the bags under my eyes or my weight and ask how much water was being consumed.
Soda…that’s a tough one. Very addictive. Kinda like smoking. I don’t smoke. Luckily. I only drink soda when I really crave it. But I try not to drink it at all. I do drink club soda. Sometimes I need the carbonation. Gook luck with your health
Glad you're doing better, and yeah, the medical world in general is a joke. There's a reason for that. But like you, I drank TONS of sodas in younger years, along with coffee. I was a driver for 10 years and it got to the point I would go through 2-3 44oz's a day while working, then another 6 pack at home. Almost NEVER drank any water for the first 30 or so years of my life. It really screwed up my body, especially the teeth, stomach, gallbladder and gut. Drinking filtered water with supplements, or lemon juice with apple cider vinegar and occasionally fresh honey has slowly been making a difference, but unfortunately teeth don't usually grow back. :/
For anyone who wants to drink more water, this is the method I’ve come up with. I always keep a large cup or bottle of room temperature water near me and can determine if I need water by mouthfeel, such as the thickness of my saliva. Then, when I drink the water, I chug until my body tells me to stop. It’s amazing how the body knows exactly how much it needs! Sometimes I only feel like 2 or 3 gulps and sometimes I feel like chugging the whole glass. I’m sure this is obvious for some people but I only really discovered this in my 20s.
I was a runner through high school and that's the only reason I learned it earlier. Most people don't really consider how their body tells them what they need, it wasn't until I was running 6 miles that my mind had the time to process how each thing affected my body. I can easily say that our 20s are the discovery stage.
The issue is, when you're thirsty, you're already dehydrated. It's better to sip all day than to dehydrate then quickly rehydrate all through the day. Of course, the latter is better than going into the next day behind on hydration!
I totally noticed how I was experiencing two different types of thirst. Sometimes just plain water is enough but sometimes I need water AND food to finally feel good. Your body is balance. It’s water and nutrients that your body needs on a daily basis.
I’m absolutely terrible at drinking enough water, I always have been. I’ve been trying to be more consistent since I’m now pregnant but it’s a constant struggle for me. I’m loving these examples that I can remember and help motivate me to be more intentional with hydration.
@@Katherine_xs I’m not believing it, it’s just a fact. I forget until I’m really thirsty, and then you’re already dehydrated. I have multiple water bottles 😅
Having the right containers for you could do the difference between always having water on you and not, it really helps to have a large water container in arms length that you can drink out of in areas where you're very stationary, and a smaller one that you could carry around
People on the internet always criticize UA-camrs, then they become fans/ supporters. That’s why folks always say “never give up” and “don’t listen to the haters”.
I used to drink a lot of water, but this year I drastically drank less water then I was used to. I noticed that my allergy started to act up. I'm drinking more water now and I notice now that I feel much better 😇
During lockdown, all of a sudden, I got into the habit of drinking 7-8 litres of water. I lost 9 kg without any exercise. I went from 98 to 89 kgs. And it has stayed with me to this day.
@@SamiiRSMT Not cups but litres. Yes I have to use toilet very often then. But I am very much healthy now and back to my 15 yrs back weight. Tough now I am drinking around 4 to 5 litres depending on the climate.
I’ve been drinking a minimum two 50 ounce bottles of water since I was 17. People have always been stunned like it’s so difficult or disciplined. But I’ve been healthy for decades as a result. My complexion and age have always looked younger than I am. The list goes on and on. And I exercise regularly too.
Yeah, definitely informative like everyone says. A little terrifying to process that later stages of dehydration is the start of the body dying. I mean it's basically your body crying for help and doing everything it can to indicate you NEED water. Amazing to learn more about how the body works, thank you so much for making these videos.
I work in the Plasma donation industry...we see dehydration on a daily basis....I wish we could send this video out as an opportunity to teach...I love your videos...they are very informative, educational and fun
I struggle to drink water and my body is definitely speaking to me about it. So funny how things work out. I don’t think it’s a coincidence I came across this video. Certainly wasn’t looking for such a video. Im receiving the message loud and clear. Thanks for the insight on what’s happening internally! I needed this! 💖
Try getting a Hydro Flask or stainless steel bottle, make sure u clean it regularly. I prefer it to have a flip straw to drink from. I add a water enhancer eg, fruit flavoured sweetened with Stevia or I get sugar-free roots Vit C powder packets to add to my water in the mornings or day then at night I get powdered magnesium to add to my water. Little bit of flavour helps me drink 3 L a day no Problem
@@prana1978 this is a wonderful suggestion. Thank you! I have a 32oz hydro flask, but I struggle to finish it in a day. I believe adding flavor to the water would definitely help. I don’t know why I didn’t think to do that 🤦🏾♀️. I’m putting it on my shopping list now. And, thanks for suggesting the magnesium. I take a supplement, but it’s super nasty. Didn’t know they make a powder you can add to your water.
same. i sometimes dont drink at all in a day. some days i drink no more then a shot worth of water. some days i drink up to 6 bottles of water (750ml bottles). generally i will manage to get thru 1 bottle tho
This made so much sense, as a regular person we pick up words of things but never really know their meaning, until we learn, as I have today with this video. It hit home more so for me because when my darling Mummy had a stroke 4 years ago, she'd previously signed the DNR form with other surgeries she had, but to see her in a coma and having seizures was so hard to watch, she did come too from the coma for a few days but was partly paralysed and had slight brain damage, as she'd signed the DNR form the Drs said they'd just keep her as comfortable as they could. Knowing my Mumma wasn't enough getting fluids was heartbreaking, just watching her fade away 😢 💔 😔 😪 love you Mumma, always xoxox

I don't say this often, but this guy is a great presenter and communicator. He makes these subjects both enjoyable to learn about and easy to understand. He could really help teachers be better at their jobs when it comes to teaching and connecting with students / people wanting to learn.
Lol that's always annoying!!! I gets better the more you drink water though. You just have to get to that point where your kidneys "adapt" to your elevated intake of H2O.
I have suffered from kidney stones, kidney infections and UTIs for almost 14 years now, and drinking water and monitoring my water intake so I do not drink too much water and I'm also drinking enough is important to help keep myself healthier. I carry a huge gallon jug of ice water with me at home and work to make sure I am constantly staying hydrated. Loving the informative content today!

I was vomiting a lot last night and wouldn’t stop shaking even when there was nothing left in my stomach to vomit anymore but it wouldn’t stop, I was on the verge of passing out if I kept on puking. After the fourth time I puked my mom gave me medicine and I took tiny sips of room temperature water and after drinking water in tiny portions I stopped vomiting and could finally fall asleep. And now here I wake up after all that to a video about the importance of water.
I had the same thing happening to me but it was diarhea for 2 days i couldn’t drink or eat even sleep,i really thought i had covid or my time was coming, i don’t wish it to my worst enemy.
What @Garrison Betancourt said. But after vomiting you kept shaking because vomiting makes you dehydrated, you lose a lot of water with it. There migjt have been another reason too, but this is at least one of them
I use to drink only water but the past couple years I only drank water every once in a while and I finally began only drinking water again. It’s crazy because my skin looks brighter, acne is slowly going away, and I don’t look tired anymore. It’s crazy 😸

As a consistent plasma donor, I have seen the benefits of proper hydration. The regeneration of my plasma goes faster and the plasmaapherasis process also goes faster. Not to mention without proper hydration a donation may become problematic or impossible.
This video is helpful to both the regular people and med students of graduate school level. Thank you for simplifying these concepts and making learning more fun
Thanks for doing this video. What you are saying matches up directly with what all of my doctors tell me, and that is drinking tons of water. I have Lupus Nephritis and to keep my GFR between 40 - 45, I carry water everywhere I go. Another added benefit is water consumption helps with headaches. Instead of taking a tablet, I will first drink a bottle of water. Often that is all I need to get rid of the headache.

For someone who has had two kidney transplants, this kinda hits home a little. I'll admit, I have a problem with not drinking enough water but for some reason, I'm never thirsty... I try to force myself to drink but it's hard.
Don't force anything please. Just have a cup of whatever liquid with every meal around 3 times a day you should be fine. This whole notion that you have to drink many liters a day is sounding crazy to me. Its unnecessary unless you are sweating profusely doing physical work.
My son drinks "energy" drinks such as Monster. I'd love to see a video regarding the affect on the body. I've told him the risks and some affects, but he does not take it seriously. He enjoys your content. Maybe, just maybe coming from a source he respects...? Thank you for all your fantastic information.
The most common ingredients in these energy drinks are sugars, caffeine, ginkgo biloba, ginseng or guaranaa maybe some vitamins or minerals as well. The fantasy is we men think this will make us Thor, the Hulk or superman. But it is not like that. And water can not be replaced with energy drinks. So you are correct about your concern.

I think it might be interesting to include information regarding water intoxication (hyperhydration). My son was hospitalized with this when he was in high school. A good friend's son ended up in a coma and partially paralyzed from it!
The "8 glasses of water a day" is a myth started by Gatorade. The amount of water needed depends on so many factors and usually people should drink only when thirsty.
If you don't mind me asking how much water did he have and did he take any antidiuretic? I'm just asking because its my understanding that its pretty difficult to suffer from hypo hydration because your body will immediately start to get rid of it. Of course, if you take antidiuretics and then drink a lot of water you are screwing yourself over, but if you don't take any then you really need A LOT of water. At least that's my understanding, not a doctor or medical student, please enlighten me!
@@jajajaime I don't know about OP's son, but I ended up hospitalized from drinking too much water over the summer. I was lucky in that it was pretty minor incident. I normally drink a lot of water (have since been actively trying to limit it and work on taking in more electrolytes) but it must have been 8+ glasses in a few hours for me to get the whole issue started. It was a crazy heat wave and I was sick at the time, so of course I thought I was suffering from heat stroke and kept drinking even more. I wonder if OP's son was on some sort of sports team and was trying to stay hydrated, since him and a friend were both effected?
@@marinametelskaya3759 for me it was mostly extreme lightheadedness and vomiting. I don’t remember peeing a lot, so I guess throwing up the water was my body’s next best attempt of getting the water out. I also started shaking the longer it went on. I felt tired and even slurred my words. Drink water but don’t be weird about it!
I drink a gallon throughout the day, I sweat a lot. Last July I ran a half marathon and didn’t drink enough water I was severely dehydrated at the end. Appreciate the video. For me as a water sommelier I talk all the time about the importance of electrolytes and water. One of the big issues we are facing in the US is that many bottled water brands are nothing else than highly processed tap water where electrolytes are purified out and added back in very small amounts. On the bottle it says "electrolytes added" but they don't tell you really how many electrolytes are added back in. The consumer sees the "electrolytes added" and thinks the water has tons of electrolytes. Therefore I am an advocate for drinking tap or when you want to buy bottled water, look for Mineral or Spring water, where electrolytes are infused naturally by nature in larger amounts. Again, thank you so much for the very informative video. Drink real - Be real, because water is not just water
This should be a required learning video for someone with severe CKD and or kidney transplant. I just had my second transplant and I know a lot about how the kidneys work and my doctors are always telling me to drink tons of water, but I've never seen a visual like this and never known the nitty gritty details of why and how being dehydrated could really hurt the kidneys. Very educational!
i had to learn these things really quickly when i got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes . they started me on 24 units of insulin a day . now i only need 6 . i started using potassium chloride and salt along with vitamin b1 to control everything . i was near heart attack when i was diagnosed because my blood tests showed that there was pretty much no electrolytes in my body . the seizures and cramps stopped when i started taking care of the electrolyte shortage . my blood pressure is always at 120 over 70 now also on insulin i need more potassium than normal or else i cant pee at all this channel is truly amazing . I've watched this to treat almost all the issues i had at my diagnosis . right now the doctors cant believe my good health . but they have to change my insulin type now because the long acting disturbs my liver function . if i have high blood sugars above 13 mmol (no ketones) without insulin i just go for a 30 minute walk to get it back to 5 . this also prevents ketones for forming for up to 4 hours . at the cost of my weight of course

I am recently out of hospital after being severely dehydrated along with gastro enteritis, hyperglaecemia, lactic acidosis and confusion. I lost all my words, could not converse and was intravenously given right bags of fluid. I felt as though I was going to die that night and was so frightened, especially being in my own. I was so very ill with all the signs of severe dehydration not realizing what was happening and desperately needing water. I could have easily died. This is such a valuable video. Oh, and I came out of hospital with Covid. BE VERY AWARE OF THE DANGERS OF NOT DRINKING ENOUGH.
I have a glass jar I keep full of water and have etched every 300ml of water on it. Every 3 hours I drink 300ml and it seems to keep me from making frequent restroom breaks, but also prevents me from experiencing dehydration. Took a little experimenting to figure out the right amount to drink at a time, but I eventually found it and now I keep that jar with me pretty much whenever I can and make sure to drink from it when I need it. I still don't account for other things I may eat with water content such as fruits and vegetables, but for the most part it has worked so far. This is all coming from someone who used to drink soda all the time and now I can't drink anything relatively sweet as it is just too sweet for me now. I also had constant headaches due to caffine and lack of hydration. Drinking water has definitely helped me out of that situation, and made me realize just how much sugar is in our drinks and foods these days. WAY too much, I mean seriously is the sweet tea at McDonalds supposed to be tea, or is it sugar water with a hint of tea flavor that usually you never taste?
For normal healthy adults, it is best to drink according to thirst for hydration needs. Overhydration has become as much a problem as dehydration nowadays due to people thinking they need to drink more water than their body actually Needs by being told to drink a certain amount even when not thirsty. Over a long period of time of drinking too much can cause people to lack the ability to properly hydrate since they are water logged and it can cause even more thirst thus further complicating the process.

Thanks for educating us about our bodies, gross but interesting.
I am 70 yo old. I rarely feel thirst. My primary practitioner says age acts to diminish the very sense of thirst. Adequate hydration would help your patient/clients with their stomach cramps, dizziness and especially muscle cramping. But steadily drinking water does inconvenience them with the frequent need to urinate.
Interesting. Here in Europe the general guide is to drink when you're thirsty. The brain and body system is extremely complex and sophisticated enough to know when and how much water it needs. You'll get thirsty and drink until you're satiated, it's that simple. Drinking over and above the amount the body seems to be demanding is considered a little dangerous since you are then starting to cause an unnecessary and uncalled for imbalance of water vs much needed minerals in your body. You're in danger of literally diluting the natural mineral content your body feels it needs, and with every run to the toilet you expel too many minerals as a result of drinking excess amounts of water. Typos edited.
I think Europeans are generally just way healthier than Americans tbh 😭😭 I think the reason why Americans are so obsessed with drinking a specific amount of water is bc we also drink a lot of other things that aren’t healthy for us like sodas and juices

How much?
Thank you so much. I'm 74 and just learning how my kidneys work. I feel responsible for living my whole life in ignorance but it's not all my fault. There's a culture of ignorance in the US to keep us stupid, obese and needing prescription drugs. Now I see the light and plan on helping my family and others to do the same.
So inspiring! All we can do is learn and then lead by example:)
Ignorance is a weapon. The public is dumbed down purposely.
"Culture of ignorance" is so real.
Education. The absolute BEST thing humans can do for themselves. This channel is great for that!!
True. You don't want to go through life ignorant.

I was hospitalized due to hyperthyroidism, gerd, and anxiety. During the first few weeks of treatment, my doctor asked me to stop caffeine intake and other beverages too. Since then, I have learned to love water. It's been more than a year of just water and juices.
It turned out GOOD for you in the end... right? Juices are awesome for you to include essential Electrolytes and Salts.
@@gracien2008 Yes. But I'd likely settle in water and fresh fruit juices since I have discovered I have IBS (though not duagnosed, but looks like it). But all is well. Bringing water around is such an essential. I no longer have dry skin, too.
@@okehokehokeh was caffeine a huge contributor to your anxiety?
Headaches may be an indicator of chemicals or toxins in u r system? Try putting in a tsp of bentonite clay in water.
Try drinking mineral water, it goes down so much easier than water. If you’re craving soda mix mineral water with a bit of your favorite juice.
This is me exactly !
Same

I was a runner through high school and that's the only reason I learned it earlier. Most people don't really consider how their body tells them what they need, it wasn't until I was running 6 miles that my mind had the time to process how each thing affected my body. I can easily say that our 20s are the discovery stage.
The issue is, when you're thirsty, you're already dehydrated. It's better to sip all day than to dehydrate then quickly rehydrate all through the day. Of course, the latter is better than going into the next day behind on hydration!
Best water to drink is structured water
I totally noticed how I was experiencing two different types of thirst. Sometimes just plain water is enough but sometimes I need water AND food to finally feel good. Your body is balance. It’s water and nutrients that your body needs on a daily basis.

I'm so glad that I found this channel. It's the perfect companion to all of the anatomy books I have which only show parts of the body, but don't explain their functions. Plus, I get more info and help from these videos than any doctor has ever given. Thanks!!👌🏽
Are not we getting electrolytes mostly from food? Should not be an issue then if there is any in water or not.
Very educational!
i had to learn these things really quickly when i got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes . they started me on 24 units of insulin a day . now i only need 6 . i started using potassium chloride and salt along with vitamin b1 to control everything . i was near heart attack when i was diagnosed because my blood tests showed that there was pretty much no electrolytes in my body . the seizures and cramps stopped when i started taking care of the electrolyte shortage . my blood pressure is always at 120 over 70 now
also on insulin i need more potassium than normal or else i cant pee at all
this channel is truly amazing . I've watched this to treat almost all the issues i had at my diagnosis . right now the doctors cant believe my good health . but they have to change my insulin type now because the long acting disturbs my liver function . if i have high blood sugars above 13 mmol (no ketones) without insulin i just go for a 30 minute walk to get it back to 5 . this also prevents ketones for forming for up to 4 hours . at the cost of my weight of course
it never stops to amazes me how intricate the human body is

Smh so true tho.
Medicine sounds so alien and complicated to us, yet you show us it’s really not. Determining hydration through something as simple as a “stretch sensor” is genius!!! THANK YOU for bringing this to us.

As someone who sometimes will go a day or two without drinking water, thank you
Jesus. A day for me is like a month
@@UlyssesM same. Sometimes i think about how i probably drink lip a sip or two to swallows like an ibuprofen. A drink maybe a full cup a water twice a month
@@Papaya.girly481 how are you still alive 😧
@@spilledsoju03 other drinks contain water as well as some foods.
@@arrianne311 Well that person does drink water then don't they? There is no difference if it contains mostly water its water.
Excellent. I too A&P some years ago and had forgotten the details, so this is a much appreciated brief refresher. The mechanisms of the body are fascinating.
I was recently admitted to hospital with low Hb (mine got down to 60 😭) and dehydration amongst other problems. My transplanted kidney was in REALLY bad shape. 3 days of continuous IV fluids and 1.5 bags of blood later, and my kidneys are VERY happy.
Be kind to your body ❤️
I have always thought that i need to drink so much water than really required and i always kept stuffing myself like a turkey on Thanksgiving. But this taught that i dont need to do that. Thank You! I love you vids they give so much information even though i am already learning science at school!😃
@@trueg115 Yes! A girl from my highschool DIED from drinking too much water! She was a really good kid and she never drank alcohol&had never gotten drunk in her life before. So one evening after school other kids decided to play a drinking game, with alcohol of course but since Stephanie didn't drink she decided to play with water, to take shots w water instead of whiskey . The fact that the other kids were taking shots of whiskey and she didn't necessarily take any more shots of water than the kids that were drinking whiskey. Unfortunately she died that night. It was a pretty big deal in our town when it happened.
@@WarmongerYT wow that's horrible. It goes to show how a gap of lack of knowledge on a subject overall can have damaging effects. The idolized view of over consumption of water thats in the culture makes it more difficult for people to innately know its not good to drink too much. Im just as surprised at the amount of whiskey they would have been drinking
If classes were like this... now I want to learn more about liquid retention
i just finished my anatomy class and it blew my mind how i came across your video and i knew what you were talking about but still learned info that blew my mind anymore. Thank you for your great explaining man , i appreciate you
The way he says "So, what's happening to the body? Essentially you're just dying and you're dying very slowly :D" 😂😂 Love this channel!
Right?! When he said that I thought “We’ll d*mn. That was blunt.”
Was literally researching this because my family has a history of Kidney function issues and how to prevent it early on to slow damage. Love your videos. Very informative!
I hope you get all figured out.
@@rugged2050 For the most part. Lol. Just have to be sure to drink water regularly. My family is not keen on that. The kidneys don't like to be dry is what I gathered. Eat healthier so they don't have to work overtime and try to stay stress free....again something my family has too much of...lol
honestly ive gotten a habit of drinking water alot recently, cuz when i was younger, i prefered to drink alot of fizzy drinks lol, drinking water is actually very nice and im very lucky to have alot of it.
The amount of knowledge this guy have is insane
As someone who doesn't drink enough water because I often can't tell whether I'm thirsty or not, this is a really useful video!
Useful indeed #SaveSoil
Thank y’all so much,
I’m an Emt/firefighter going to paramedic school wanting to be in the hospital setting and y’all are amazing!!!
Thank you so much
I was in the hospital multiple times because I do not drink water as much as I'm supposed to. I won't get into details, but I know for a fact just within these 3 years you could learn a lot from my pictures and medical records on the importance of water. Till this day I do not understand why my body is okay with me going against a natural important instinct of survival.
Not sure id translate you going to hospital multiple times, as your body being okay with you not drinking water…
Maybe it’s your diet
I feel you. I'm literally never thirsty. I get migraines and am tired all the time. But I just can't drink water. It makes me feel sick when I try. Water tastes like pennies. It's weird the idea of needing water but never being thirsty. You'd think my body would signal that it's thirsty when it needs water. But it never does. I'll drink a couple sips a day. Every single day.
@@sarahyork11 The lack of water correlates to your migraines.
@@prettyclassyladyOG probably. I just have a hard time drinking much. Water makes me feel nauseous. I've been trying to add water enhancer to it so I'll drink more. But I'm still only drinking maybe 2 glasses a day.
I love this channel so much! This video was really cool to see how the body reacts. I have to get back to drinking more water lol
Great video! I really love how you explain everything in detail, made few good notes out of your explanation! Thanks for such wonderful videos.
I have always been a camel and Varela drank any water. Then I read a book written by a doctor who stated a lot of our health problems are symptoms of dehydration. I started drinking more water and sleep and feel better, around 6 to 10 cups a day. At 60 years old I finally learned something. Ha!
Noom is great I lost 40 pounds 2 years ago and still use the things I learned to this day. Great videos!
Man I’m so dang addicted to this channel it’s crazy, I mean I have withdraws after a few hour of not watching something off the channel
I have never felt as smart as I did, during this presentation. Many of the things and processes he explained, I learnt in grade 11 biology. This validated my ability to retain information from as far back as high school.
Great job
I can't drink water without having fresh lemon slices in my water.. plus my doctor said it better for kidney stones...I used to get kidney stones twice a year. Haven't had a kidney stone in two years..
I’ve never been able to drink enough water, I just don’t get the urge to drink water very often. It’s a daily struggle and sometimes I don’t drink any water in a day. I do drink water, but nowhere near enough, and when I try forcing myself to drink more water daily it doesn’t last very long before I forget again
I haven’t found anything to help yet
Accents are a funny thing 😂 I can always understand it all what Justin says, but when it comes to Jonathan I need to pause the video and hear over again. Anyhow, this is the best channel ever, thanks guys. Saludos desde Colombia 🇨🇴
I was searching for anatomy lecture but I stumble upon the amazing channel
I honestly never thought there could be different types of dehydration, thank you! These videos are so informative and entertaining 👍
Excellent. I live in Phoenix and I'm in the 100oz a day range, and more when exercising. I'm 62 and 142 pounds. I track my water intake (and weight) every single day via Garmin Connect. Thank you.
That's insane. How tf do you drink that much? Mind boggling. I drink around 1 liter/day and if more my belly feels super full and uncomfortable.
As a person who drinks water as my beverage of choice, I was hoping for more, Deep Dehydration. I work with seniors in an assisted living and I see the affects of deep dehydration. I’m not a doctor or nurse, but I’m with folks who have dementia/Alzheimer’sThey don’t want to have to go to the bathroom, the choice of someone who doesn’t have dementia. They can say “my stomach hurts, I feel dizzy, my legs are cramping up. My mother always prided herself for not drinking more than what a medication needs to go down her throat. But Ma, you may not have dementia, vascular, if you did! I’m going to check out your video list too see what might be there on this subject.
Oh thank god for the video …Awesome explanation sir❤🙏
Agree 100 percent with this comment.
No, some people just forget to drink water
