Agreed, this binding is a nice addition to the Kingpin and F10 and F12 Bindings.

Hello, How did you enjoy this bindings on the downhill?
I saw you tested them on the Volki VTA 98, 177cm long skis that are 98mm underfoot.
I have a pair of Black Crows Navis Freebird 179cm long, 102mm underfoot. Do you think this bindings will hold ok downhill?
    Thanks

That video was prepared last season at the launch of the Marker Alpinist Bindings and since then I have put in a full season on my pair with them mounted on a pair of Blizzard Zero G 105 Skis and for me, this is the ultimate combo. A lightweight ski and binding. The Alpinist performs flawlessly on the down, great boot hold and transmission of power to the ski, zero issues and on the up they are so light. My only gripe is the brakes and how they have been integrated. Hopefully there is an improvement on future versions, but you get used to the current system and it is not a big deal. Highly recommend this binding for a lith weight set up if you want to cover ground touring or are getting older like me.

I had the bindings for one year. This year I lost one of the heel risers... the pin that holds it got out during a tour.... Marker is not offering this piece as a replacement. No post sell repair service!!! Very poor customer service from Marker!

That sucks, I would hope that they would at least offer you to purchase a heel piece so you can keep using the other parts and not have to buy an entirely new pair of bindings.

so you have to turn the tower between each walkmode elevation change, really? this is what im using most, changing from high to mid support

You can flip between 0 and 9º using your pole but to change to 5º yes you need to rotate the heel. If you are an efficient climber and you put in an efficient steady up track then you can use just the 5º riser and leave it there the whole time. In terrain with trees etc it’s not always that straight forward. If you are nimble then twisting the heel is simple but some may find it a hassle especially big inflexible guys.

same here - that is why I won't buy it. Dynafit Speed Radical and ATK Raider (freeraider) do not have this isssue. All bindings that are cheap and light are like this - ATK Crest, Dynafit TLT Speed (also dynafit speed is not fully flat, very bad design), Alpinist.

Same here, i wont buy it cause of the change between walking modes. Very userunfriendly...

We've heard this from a few people and will get our review completed in the coming weeks so stay tuned for that.

The first true terrain reviews haven’t really been stellar re. the use with crampons (?; i.e. couteaux/Harscheisen). Curious to hear your opinion...

Not ideal but they are light and work.@@thomasmoll8822
