Quarterback Jalen Hurts was quoted saying the Eagles “still got to clean things up” as they approach the playoffs. I think their problem with Herbert is the specific games where the ball was in his hand and he couldn't clutch it out. I think most people recognize their defense is bad, but you have to pull through in clutch moments if the game is ending with the ball in your hands.

When Brock Purdy plays good they say it's the "system", he's in a good "systems". When Hurts plays bad they say he needs a better system around him. They say Brock can't "elevate" his team around him or "elevate" the offense. But Hurts is supposed to be the guy to do that so why isn't he? These debate shows are getting worse than Fox News and CNN with their up and down takes.

In a way... Yeah... Philly was winning a lot of games in large part to QB draws. Teams start recognizing, and learn to adapt. Hurts is a glorified running back, and he will never be a QB that can learn to go through his reads quickly, stand in the pocket, and deliver with accuracy consistently.

I thought the bit from Joy about his success last year was funny, because last year everyone on the desk dismissed their easy schedule as a factor for their success. They’re obviously very good, but last year was an easier schedule and things broke right for them a lot. This year, things are going the other way, so we can’t just point to last year’s success and assume that’s who they really are and this isn’t.
She's an obvious BS artist who goes with Shady's flow and just throws cliches out there. She's got no playing or coaching experience to be able to give credible analysis.

I'm a niners fan, and I completely agree. To me, they're effectively very similar QBs. Dak is more accurate, but Jalen is more mobile. Other than that, I feel they have basically the same impact. The problem to me is, Dak has had doodoo coaching before. And I've BEEN saying for like three years I don't think Nick Siriani is a very good coach. I HATED the way he was behaving in press conferences all year and last year too. And ironically, I think both Dak and Jalen likely got overpaid. Cause now they get scrutinized for stuff that's not too much really their fault cause they're making top 5 money. Like, yeah, you expect a Mahomes, a Lamar, a burrow, an Allen to be able to weather the storm and figure it out against the odds. That's why they're paid insane money. But we've seen now, and we all KNEW, Dak and Jalen aren't expected to be able to do those space alien things, and NOBODY should be ASKED, or OBLIGATED to do those things.
You're seeing in Kansas City right now what happens when you build your team with the obligation that your quarterback just moves heaven and earth to make mid talent good. It's just not feasible long term.
Things i've learned from this show: turning the ball over is a problem only if you are Brock Purdy, because he is the weak link. Also i learned that when your team is playing bad, you have to elevate them, otherwise you are NOT a elite QB. But only if you are Brock Purdy. If we are talking about Jalen Hurts, is a different measure. Got it!

As a 49er fan that has watched his teams OC AND DC go to another team... IT PLAYS A BIG PART. This should be the topic of discussion based on the impact alone. Plus the Eagles lost players since last season. It just happens. It's not all on Hurts man.. we seen how great he can be.

Other fans see the stats and don’t watch the games. Hurts is FAR from the problem on offense. The play-calling is abysmal and they have zero hot routes. Anyone with a brain can see it’s mostly coaching (Jalen does need to work on not bailing the pocket and turnovers).

Jalen is part of the problem because he’s limited and that’s something eagles fans don’t want to admit. I live in Philly and was a huge fan of him in college but he’s always been limited n it puts the oc in bad positions. Can’t read the defense and can’t stand in the pocket, he feels a little pressure and takes off every time. Look at dak Prescott development throughout the years dak used to do the same thing and was very mobile in college and his first two years but he learned how to be a pocket passer and learned how to read defense better. Not hating on hurts just calling a spade a spade.

THIS is the real Jalen and Sirianni. Jalen is this year what he was his first two and Sirianni was a benefactor of a talented team last year but this year he actually has to coach and it's showing. Last year was an anomaly.
The problem with Joy's comp is the media didn't freak out about one bad year from Aaron Rodgers because it was one bad year for A-Rod. We have only seen one good year from Jalen and several bad years, so going back to bad is more of a concern of was the good year an outlier.

Eagles are the HIGHEST TEAM SALARY out of all 32 teams this year. They were the Yankees/Dodgers of the NFL in terms of spending. They have all the talent on this team. Only issue was the COACHING with 1st year coordinators on the offense and defense.

U have pocket passers who can’t move or run around and then u have pocket passers who can move around and run for yards. Then u have running QB’s who can throw the ball and those who can’t. Joy is partially right. This league wants pocket passers who can move around and even pick up a first down running when necessary. Teams do not want running QB’s who can’t win consistently from the pocket. Cam Newton is an example of what teams do not want. He was a running QB who took a lot of hits, got injured multiple times and finally had his super power taken away so this league told him to go sit down. That’s why he is so salty right now. Teams want players like Mahomes and to a lesser extent Purdy. They are guys who can beat u consistently from the pocket who can move. These teams want to draft a QB they can see starting for them for the next 15 to 20 years. When u play QB like a RB it means u will have a shorten career like Cam, RG3, Kap, ext. If Jalen keeps playing like Cam he will be out of this league in the next few years. If he can learn to win from the pocket like surprisingly Lamar is now then he will have a much longer career.

@@soda8736 as a niner fan look at Trey Lance. Kyles plan was to run him a little more till he could learn the offense better and then scale back the running and start throwing more. He didn’t even make it through 2 games before he got hurt and missed the rest of his first year as a starter. Every body always asks why is Purdy starting instead of 2 number 3 overall picks in trey and Sam? The answer is he processes the defense quicker and is more accurate because they all 3 of them can move around.
@@DavidECoy Alot of people now a days dont understand the nuance of the qb position and are memorized by atheletic ability. The most important thing is the processing and making quit decisions and its grear to have the atheletic ability to make a play when things break down which Brock has.
