Wildlife and bird photography at J.N 'Ding' Darling NWR. This refuge is situated on the island of Sanibel, close to Ft Myers on the westcoast of Florida. There are some trails in the area, both on land and by kayak. The main "trail" however is a paved one way road through the wetland. The sides are covered in mangrove trees but here and there the road is close to the water with a clear view of the wading birds. It is mostly wetlands so expect to see a lot of birds, but alligators, otters and raccoons are also common.

Beautiful images! Thanks!
Thank you very much and you are welcome 😊
Nice video.I had a pond in my backyard on sanibel and the birdlife even there was incredible.
Thank you so much Rand. I have spent a lot of time on Sanibel but mostly at Ding Darling and I hope I can return there some day. But I fear that the recent storm might have destroyed a lot of the island.
stunning photography. Thanks for the tip about low tide is best for viewing birds. You showed a card to get into Ding. Is that a season pass? Thanks
Thank you Theodore 👍😊 I usually buy an annual pass to save money. The road is one way and since I drive through several times every day, when I am there, it is cheaper to buy an annual pass.
These have been some great videos thanks for sharing! Where did you stay to be centrally located to all the parks?
I usually change hotel/lodging between the different places. Some places is quite close so I try to find a place in between them. That way I dont have to get up that early to catch the morning light and don't have to drive to much in the dark after sunset. As you might guess I need my beauty sleep :-) Thanks for your comment Tim. Feel free to share my videos if you think others might find them viewable :-)
Mik Swe Thanks for the info keep up the great videos.
