Pedo Bear this car is a realistic dream car most people aren't fortunate enough to be able to spend 50-60k on a car when they're 18 some people can never afford to spend that much
As a 25 year driver of BMW's whom just bought a 328i for his wife, I found myself falling in love with the Cayman S. I went to the dealer three times just to look at the car. I convinced myself it would not "fit" my needs in a car. The fourth time I went in and drove the car and could not stop smiling. So on top of the beautiful look of the car, it drives like no other car I have ever driven. Nice review...but you night want to add the "fun" factor this car brings to its owner! Be well.

Saab, your the best reviewer out there. Keep up the work man! Your voice is soothing and you review like a client not a salesman which not everyone can do!
I have always wanted Porsche engineering, but the rear engine 911 prevented me from purchasing one. Despite 50 years of evolution. I like a balanced car that is easy to handle with 4 wheel drift. This generation of the Cayman is dead on. It is an exciting sports car that is a blast to drive. The S model is worth the extra cash, as it has a smooth and strong acceleration. I have driven BMW's for 30+ years, and this is the first Porsche that I considered. This is one fine car that handles like a dream. The PDK gearbox is the best evolution of the stick shift I have ever driven. As a touring and around town car the lack of having to use a clutch makes it a very friendly auto. The sport settings can still give you the thrill of a performance car when you have a winding and open road. This is a great offering that I believe is a better driver's car than the iconic 911.
I agree, the history of the 911 doesn't always mean it is the best car and I disagree with the idea that 911 owners and fans say that people who buy a Boxster or Cayman are either chicks or gay men or they can't afford or are too cheap to buy a 911, I know the 911 is the flagship and it is the most powerful Porsche made and it is the original Porsche, but there are some things that actually make the Boxster and Cayman better than the 911, the Boxster and Cayman actually has a better chassis than the 911 and they both have a better and more balanced lighter feeling than the 911, I prefer the mid-engine design layout chassis layout of the Boxster and Cayman over the 911's rear engine layout chassis and the Cayman is actually better looking than the 911 and it is more fun to drive and is more of a driver's car plus it handles better than the 911. As a manual guy who doesn't like auto in a sports car, the PDK is a very cool dual-clutch auto and it is better than any auto ever made, although I still prefer a manual because you still have more control and it gives you a much better experience, but the PDK is really something of an automatic and it does have the best evolution of a manual. I still prefer a manual, but the PDK rules out of other automatic trannies. I think a 911 engine in a Boxster and Cayman would be so cool, but Porsche wouldn't allow it otherwise those cars would outrule their flagship's brother, but the Cayman is barely slower than the base 911 and the extra $20K for that extra 25 HP isn't worth it and the 911's back seats are useless unless if your children are 12 and under. I think I'll take the new Cayman over the new 911 imo.
***** The GT3 is an exception though to most 911's, but I am not a fan of the 911's layout, the Boxster and Cayman layout is more balanced and a better feeling, the problem is that you don't get the power of a 911, but the Boxster S and Cayman S aren't that much slower than a base 911 and you can get one for 25K less, and honestly imo, the new Boxster and Cayman are better looking, also I prefer the 997 over the 991 as well.
HJ Farooqi You are absolutely correct about the layout of the 911. The architecture is flawed. After 50 years Porsche has engineered their way around the rear engine setup, and it is a manageable and race winning car today. The Cayman has forgone the "sunroof" option in order to enhance the rigidity of the frame. The car sits very low in order to keep the weight closer to the ground. Porsche refuses to put the power that you get in the 911 in this car. I believe that they already know that it is a better sports car, and they don't want to possibly usurp the 911 as their best car. I have driven them both, and the corner performance of the Cayman is a more pure driving experience.
Like I said on facebook, Kyle, this brings back sooo many good memories from my test in summer. I had to watch it a second time and I even learned a few things I wasn't aware of...Keep em coming ! Greetings, Guido
TheGetawayer I just noticed this when I read these comments! haha I've watched a bunch of Kyles videos as well as your videos before making this youtube account and subscribing and have always been a big fan as well. Thats so cool that these car channels know each other :) I like to be able to communicate with the guys making these videos too! By the way, your Porsche reviews and test drives are really awesome! -Mike
You're welcome! I like pretty much all types of cars, but I'm a really big Porsche fan so your videos are interesting. I noticed a lot of Kyles videos are in North Carolina near Charlotte haha, I've driven through that area before while on vacation. I live further up north in Pennsylvania. Hey Kyle, long time fan here. Great review. I like seeing all of these cool new and fancy cars, but I would also like to see some videos of older ones from the 80s/90s/early 2000s. You used to have a lot of these and they were my favorites.
the Cayman is the car you get when you're younger and don't have a family. The 911 is the car you get when your girl says you need a back seat for the car seat.

Hello Saabkyle04, great video first of all! Could you please review the new Panamera Turbo? i know you've already done the previous models, but if you could do the 2014 one, it would be great! Thanks :)
The mid engine layout gives the 981 Porsches such incredible balance and a very rewarding driving experience. More than the now bloated 911 at half the price or less. The 3.4l S and GTS NA engines are the same as the 911 Carrera's, just in a detuned state. Now that the ecu code has been cracked, one can regain the horses Porsche 'stole' and really turn up the wick. My low mileage 2014 981 Cayman S had the ecu remapped to 364hp, 420Nm, 0-100km/h 3.89sec for a cost of A$1900..... Pulls like the clappers from 3000rpm to redline with a hair-trigger throttle response. It's now an affordable mini supercar that gives me so much fun, I won't ever sell it.

I agree in regards to your Porsche comment but Audi's through the 7's are gradually better each model. Then there is a large jump up to the 8. It is much more expensive looking and feeling, especially in person.
I'm super surprised that the sequential gearbox lever is backwards. race sequential boxes are normally set Pull for up shift and Push to down shift. annoying, but the paddles I suppose solve for that
PSE is giving a boost in power? Not according to Porsche :). It sounds awesome but I wish it would give the 5 to 11 additional HPs that other sports exhaust are giving...
Good job! But all of your recent cars are too expensive. Can you review more practical cars like before please? Also a short test drive with normal driving and 0-60 could be a nice addition to each review. Thanks and keep up the great work!
I really dislike people who start a car (any car) and starts revving the engine before its oil is warmed up to show off the sound of the exhausts. That's just abuse.
I agree with you but if you are implying that Kyle did such a thing you would be incorrect. At 2:03 you can see how the time in the gauge cluster goes from 11:27 to 11:51, allowing plenty of time for the oil to be warmed up. It's called editing dude.

PSE is giving a boost in power? Not according to Porsche :). It sounds awesome but I wish it would give the 5 to 11 additional HPs that other sports exhaust are giving...
Nice color interior
Do a review for Porshe Cayman GTS and GT4 also.
Kyle do you know you can close the aluminium bar when the cup holders are in use ?
Nice colour combination
Agreed!!
Good job! But all of your recent cars are too expensive. Can you review more practical cars like before please? Also a short test drive with normal driving and 0-60 could be a nice addition to each review. Thanks and keep up the great work!
Saabkyle, please show us the Lamborghini Espada. Best old car :P
Great review. Tks.
You are damn correct.
