I started throwing MVP the summer before James got signed, all because I bought an Envy and fell in love with it. It was awesome to see him make the holy shot with one of my favorite discs!
Well done with this video. I think one of the most important things for the goal of expanding and legitimizing this sport is the focus on these kinds of storylines. This gives people a reason to become interested in players and become invested in their seasons and coverage across all media outlets. Thanks for being part of that!
As a person who found disc golf in June of 2021 it's hard not to love James Conrad. My first live disc golf I ever witnessed was the Holy shot live on YT. I bought discs the following Monday. Been playing everyday since pretty much. As a person who roots for the underdog I instantly learned Paul McBeth was the favorite and the player that's supposed to win. I loved when James stole it from him. Now I root against Paul in every event. He is great, but not a guy I want to hang out with. James on the other hand seems interesting. Like you could tell James things about yourself and he would genuinely care. While Paul would forget everything you told him about yourself 20 minutes later. Just my take. #TeamJames #anyonebutPaul #Gyrofliesfarther My top five favorite DGers (Players I'd like to play with) just IMO MPO 1. James Conrad 2. Gregg Barsby 3. Calvin Heimburg 4. Kevin Jones 5. Matty O FPO 1. Kristin Tattar 2. Holyn Handley 3. Ohn Scoggins 4. Valerie Mandujano 5. Macie Velediaz
I don’t know if there’s a video of it. I heard big jerm talking about a time when James Conrad fell several feet off the front of a teepad. There was a drop off and Conrad still put 100% into his shot.
I’m surprised you don’t mention the tournament that put Conrad on the map, WACO 2017. The video feels very incomplete without it. Like talking about Federer without 2001 Wimbledon. Or starting a book after the conflict has been introduced.
@@winstonsmith11 yeah but when you think discraft so many people can come to mind like Paige, Chris etc, but I also don't find myself thinking of a person much at all when i hear discraft. On the other hand, MVP discs and James are so intertwined it'd hard to think of MVP and not immediately think of James or the Holy Shot
Conrad's forehand is like that scene in the Princess Bride where Inigo Montoya and Westley reveal they're actually not left handed
Thank You... Disc Golf has changed my Life!
half my bag which is MVP is due to Conrad. been following him for awhile and this was a well put together video. 👍
I`ve been into disc golf for less than a week but James is already my favorite player.

Great video, but his first pt win was 2017 Idlewild.
THE UNICORN FOREHAND!

OTB open chase card r2 hole one. He FELL off the tee.

Not only was James about to become star of a company but he is the only player that you can argue is THE face of a company
I get what you're saying, but I think McBeth is also 100% the face of discraft.

No Conrad's were harmed in the making of this video.
That disclaimer about the fall … you weren’t serious right haha?
That one got me too 😂
I love me some Walnut Ridge recognition
😊😊
“Warning graphic” . Viewer discretion is advised..
Slips on wet grass🤣
I've heard this guy is hard to play a round with. Extreme micro aggressiveness is what the word on the greens is 😅
Didnt he win Idlewild in '17??
maybe one day simon will be the face of mvp
James Conner?
McBeth will always be my guy, but that shot at world's was the best shot I've ever seen under the circumstances
McBeth is the goat, but I love James. Just an a honest all around nice guy. So glad he won worlds and will always be cemented in history for that.
Honestly I really like the content but I think data backing up your claims about MVP would be important also
He did nothing this year. Simon, for example, is a much better player. Conrad got SO lucky last words!!
I wouldn't say lucky to anyone on lead card, they practice like 6-8 hours a day to get there.
@@Michael-dj6pd I meant so F'n lucky!
