The thing in this game- one of the things that really breaks my heart- is when metatons batteries die and alphys said “I would have- I would have” she was about to say kill herself. Whitch she does in every single timeline that you kill metaton.
I am 5 minutes in, and I’m getting the impression that Toby Fox must be a similar person to you. Giving Flowey a southern accent felt so much more fitting than any other voice I’ve heard. Surprised nobody I’ve watched tried it before with the “howdy”, but it’s so fitting that I can’t imagine him sounding any different even after just that short interaction. The predicting dialogue thing definitely helps too
Mad Dummy is my favorite character. Mainly because in the Switch version there's a secret fight where you fight her when she's in a life-sized doll of Mew Mew from Mew Mew Kissy Cutie (the anime alphys talks about) and it actually becomes her canon vessel and I love her
this video was such a blast! i just wish you’d have watched the video tapes in alphys’ lab that explain more of asriel & the child’s backstory. they add a lot of depth.
I think a big point of the game, which mr. Therm articulated perfectly, is that the genocide run means taking all of this away from the characters you love. Undertale argued that it is always a choice to be kind. Resisting the temptation to do a genocide run, in my opinion, is understanding what the game is asking you
I cannot believe how quickly you put together lore clues! you guessed all that Mettaton lore perfectly without even going to his old house, and your analysis of the ending lore was almost spot on on your first try! this was an incredibly enjoyable playthrough to watch Therm
Thank you Therm. I absolutely love how you leaned into the characters and game in general. This play through has become one of, if not possibly my favourites of all time! As much as it pains me, I would like to see you take on the ‘genocide’ route, if not for the challenge, but for your reaction. You have an incredible voice! I’m surprised you haven’t pursued it!
Am I really gonna re-watch a 19 year old play an 8 year old game for 3 hours? ... Yes, absolutely. Am I gonna like the video cuz funny? Absolutely. No question.
I mean, given Flowey/Asriel's almost definitely southern, they had to have gotten it from somewhere. I have a tendency to read dialogue aloud, so now I've gotten very good at southern accents lol. I suppose it shouldn't be surprising, given I am a southerner
Your energy is perfect for this game, it makes me feel like this is the first time I've seen a playthrough of Undertale, which is really cool since I forgot the times I saw/played the game, but I still remember all the events and surprises, which I hate, like how many things have been really enjoyable, but I forgot?
I really am glad this quote didn't make it into the video but I DO still feel the need to publicly call out Therm for uttering the words "your nostrils are ravishing!" I love this guy but that was just very upsetting
genuinely, watching other people play undertale for the first time completely blind makes me fall in love with the game all over again. it’s a really good game, and I had a lot of fun watching this playthrough. I will say, the other route is definitely worth playing if you get the chance. great video as always!

This was such a nice video. It’s been so long since I’ve been able to play Undertale for the first time, or even see someone who doesn’t know much play it for the first time. Getting to relive a game that has been so special to me for so many years was really nice. Thanks for playing, Therm.
I'm having SUCH a blast watching this video, currently at 34:00 by one of Papyrus' puzzles. When I played Undertale, a couple of years ago, I really didn't get the hype. But watching you play the friendship route, getting a lot more dialogue and paying a lot more attention to it, I kind of want to give it another try:)
undertale was the first piece of media i really became a fan of as a kid and since then, i have never seen anybody genuinely connect with it as much as therm did on a blind playthrough; either they missed a ton of queues and didn’t engage a lot when it came out, or their experience was spoiled by the fandom/meme culture. loved seeing you play live in the first stream! 2:58:32 imo this is toby fox's goofiest creation

I think a big point of the game, which mr. Therm articulated perfectly, is that the genocide run means taking all of this away from the characters you love. Undertale argued that it is always a choice to be kind. Resisting the temptation to do a genocide run, in my opinion, is understanding what the game is asking you
14:54 "takes a deep breath, well i'll give you a deep CHEST WOUND Uhhh." had me rolling on the floor
He's 19? Now I feel a tad uncomfortable for watching the channel.
@@K.Marie119 yes he's almost 20
Am I going to like this comment?
Yes I am.
@@K.Marie119 why?
@@K.Marie119 don't make something not weird weird, like whyyy??
Therm is honestly the only youtuber who can make a three hour video entertaining the whole time
I will only ever hear Toriel's lines in Therm's voice now
Same bro 😭😭
SHE FROM TEXAS?!?!🗣️🗣️🔥🙏💯🗣️🔥💯🔥🙏💯💯🔥🙏🙏💯🗣️🔥
I heard someone talking in a similar voice recently and could only think of Toriel XD
same.😭
I mean, given Flowey/Asriel's almost definitely southern, they had to have gotten it from somewhere.
Every time you say "I'm not an expert" I know you nailed it
1:32:09 “wow you even lowered it for convenience 😄”
“….mmm..okay😀”
2:07:35
“The kids both bit it at the same time.”
I don’t know why that fucking sent me 🤣🤣🤣
I really am glad this quote didn't make it into the video but I DO still feel the need to publicly call out Therm for uttering the words "your nostrils are ravishing!" I love this guy but that was just very upsetting
isnt ravishing an adjective for beautiful?
@@sparrowpillowyeah but about... nostrils?
@@adysenmckay3428 I don’t see how that’s upsetting, might come off as weird but upsetting?
@@sparrowpillow it's a hyperbole
Okay what was the context for this? I need to know
"maybe she had a kid that died" he predicted the story 😂
genuinely, watching other people play undertale for the first time completely blind makes me fall in love with the game all over again. it’s a really good game, and I had a lot of fun watching this playthrough. I will say, the other route is definitely worth playing if you get the chance. great video as always!
I recently found your channel while trying to find videos to watch while I do college work and I’ve watched through your entire animal crossing series and now I’m onto the Undertale one! It’s just comforting to watch someone my age enjoy my favorite games while I try my best to work really hard on my photography projects for my class
the first time i played undertale, i didn’t know you could spare toriel… i cried so much that day-
Wait what you didn't know?! God, if I didn't I would've sobbed
I didn't know that "sorry I'm dyslexic" in a papyrus voice would be so funny
hoping toby is happy knowing his game has reached its intended audience 8 years after its release. like therm was fr meant to play this game
therms voice acting for all the characters is so accurate
The genocide run is basically the other half of the story. A lot of lore but mostly a lot of heartbreaking moments
He sat up so quick at 1:00:00 made me SO SAD. He didn't get the full Napstablook experience, so sad....
Not the valentine's day upload we expected, but one that we needed. Also please, please, please do a genocide run!
kill everything
Yasss
NOO PLEASE HE WOULD BE SO SADDDDDD
this has been my favourite playthrough i've seen of undertale you're commentary really added something to the game. Keep up the good work therm :)
This was such a nice video. It’s been so long since I’ve been able to play Undertale for the first time, or even see someone who doesn’t know much play it for the first time. Getting to relive a game that has been so special to me for so many years was really nice. Thanks for playing, Therm.
"Maybe she has a she had a child who died" predicts all undertale lore
Im sad he didnt go back and saw the fused monsters fused with determination with their families and he didnt go at the beggining and talked to asriel
Holy shit therm. You actually understood Soo much of the plot towards the end! Most people have to look all of this up!
It's been ages since this game came out. Do you really think he is playing it blindly?
@@IdiotequeTR why does the fact that the game has been out for a long time make him less likely to play "blindly"?
@@junk06 Blind means to play a game without knowing nothing. I assume he is an Undertale channel so he sure knows what the plot is about. No need to be surprised of it tbh
Edit: It turns out I mixed him up with someone else but still my point is clear.
@@IdiotequeTR As large and old as Undertale is, it's really easy to never hear anything about it. He explained in his first stream that he had played Undertale wayy back, but he never got past the very start of the game. Other than that, he explained that he had no prior knowledge and Thomas seems like a genuine and sweet guy so I have no problem believing him :)
@@junk06 Well yeah same I like his channel too. Just thought about a blind gameplay would be impossible, I
apologize.
This is my first time watching a video of yours and I subscribed as soon as I heard “go up the creepy alley for great deals? I love great deals!!” With no hesitation cause that’s me
HIS VOICES FOR THEM ARE INCREDIBLE!!!
exept toriel...
NOOO SHE HAS NICE VOICE
My favorite part is hearing Therm meeting new characters, and hearing him slip into a voice for them after one or two dialogues as their personality is revealed
I am torn apart.
From one side i really would love to see your Genoside Run, your reactions to the lore hidden in there.. but from the other tho... isint it just nice to leave things how they are? On happy ending, where everyone lives happily ever after on the surface?
Its.. its a really hard dilema honestly.
*=)*
That's exactly what flowey ask you at the end of the true pacifist ending. Im personally inclined to give them a happy ending. I'm satisfied with that.
Curiosity killed the cat and I have a death wish. Genocide all the way!!
I love how Undyne stopped to yell at Sans and you stepped in to distract her.
why are LITERALLY ALL HIS VOICES completely perfect?!?! and ALSO how on earth does this dude just prophesy everything that happens in the game 🤣🤣
Whatever it’s worth your meta reading of the dead kid being a player who dropped the game was pretty much perfect to me and I loved your excitement figuring it out lol
I love how therm does papyrus voice canonical and it’s just so entertaining to hear
I don’t know exactly what to put here, but I love your videos and this was really fun to watch!
This video is making my JavaScript class so much more bearable. Great work as always Therm!
I am so sorry you are learning JavaScript.
@@violent_lava_fish4474 you make it sound like they lost a loved one
@@fantaaa. If you are learning JavaScript, you are loosing your sanity, so close enough
That was a great play through! thank you so much! Also love how you kept calling out the lore before the big reveals XD
The sound that accompanies San's speech is actually a clip of Patrick's voice.
I didn't know Therm was such a good voice actor, it's kinda amazing.
Also props to whoever edited this!
When he gives the short, high-pitched scream, it kills me every time
Him: Oh, maybe she had a kid that died
Me: UHH YEAH
Me: *ABOUT THAT*-
When you Tuff- Oops I thought it said tuff sorry I'm dyslexic.

-Papyrus 2023
Also holy I love this video so much. :3
Thanks for this I was trying to find where he said this 😂
ok, wow, i've seen dozens of blind playthroughs of thia game and _nobody_ remembers the foreshadowing about papyrus knowing flowey! almost nobody picks up on mettaton's "attacks" being scripted either.
the "i just want to see my wife" gets me sooooo bad every time :')
Asgore: "I want to see my child"
Therm: "At least one of those is possible"
I love how fast he figured out all the puzzles(overworld and sparing) and the lore. This game seems like it was made for therms, he breezed through it.
I absoloutely love your commitment to the characters. I really hope you weren't in a house with anyone tho because hearing papyrus screaming would be hilariously annoying.
this video was so wonderful, i barely noticed how long it really was. undertale is timeless, and this playthrough was amazing!!! props for getting so many things right, i could never.... you should play deltarune if you have the chance!
i immediately started dying when he ate the spider donut in ruins
it's so funny to hear therm connect the dots like 7 years later or something
Which dots?
ive only ever watched a few videos from this person and im thoroughly enjoying this one in fact it might be one of my favs !!! there’s so many aspects of this video that are phenomenal and really funny ^-^
this was such an amazing watch therm!!!! so entertaining, i watched it through to the very end. i cant begin to imagine how much time it took to edit this, but it was worth it!! fingers crossed that you do the genocide run as well, i’d love to see you play through it :)
I'm watching this for the second time and I realized: You're only one year older than me, and you played Undertale when you were in *seventh grade.* I played it when I was in *sixth.* Something about that is so surreal, yet so comforting. That some of us got to experience a moment like Undertale, and we still come back to it.
When you called flowey’s attacks opioids I knew this would be an amazing video
therm figuring out the entire plot of the game but also fumbling chara and asriel's backstory is very funny to me
dude you did THE perfect voice for Papyrus. I know Skeletor's voice is a great fit too but yours is perfectly toned down from that.
also the nice cream guy has the perfect voice too??
I am enchanted by how perfect your humor (and Papyrus voice!) is for this game
