Those bitching about the writing should watch the original series with someone who had not seen the original. When you are doing shows that have to be written/prepped and aired in a 7 day period, not every joke will land. The old series had just as many flat jokes as this. Don't let your nostalgia fool you.
If everything in the past was better... it's probably you that hasn't aged well.
Not accepting monotony doesn't mean you aged poorly.
If the movies in the past weren't better what's with all the reboots? Any movie that does well in the box office usually has some easter-egg tied to a great movie within a decade in the past. Sometimes they'll even use it as a selling point (such as the long awaited casting of Queen Sigourney Weaver in a Sci-Fi movie as James Cameron's 'Avatar' did) Plus all the movies back then didn't need to contain a zombie or a super power. (even Jackie Chan is using super powers in his movies (single tear))

Jacinta sketch was great. Boris and Cummings good, and Priti Patel has potential. Misses were Trump, apart from the "no ventilators at Pearl Harbour" quip, nothing really landed, proving it's hard to parody an already ridiculous figure. Harry and Meghan also could have been more cutting, but the "husband formally known as Prince" was good.
