    I use tension rods , I also screw the C Hooks and wire the rod to them for extra strength the only repair us a very small amount of spackle.

    Adhesive hooks are not strong enough to hold a plant. It could fall off easily 😮😮😮 it happened to me so I can’t trust them again 😢😢😢

      It depends on the adhesive

      It depends on your drywall or ceiling some drywall is sturdy and some isn't, at my new house it's a no go it's like the drywall is made of cardboard but at my old apartment it worked beautifully. Or if you can hang it on tile or wood it will be safer. You also have to follow the directions on the command strips or whatever adhesive hooks you're using like using alcohol to clean the wall, letting it dry and holding the hook against the wall firmly for 30 seconds when you install it. You should also put up a new hook every 10 years or so. I would also recommend hanging something roughly the same weight that won't make a mess on it for a few days and if it stays your probably safe to hang your plant from it.

      @@chelseaclerke3582command syrips for hanging i dont think thats good for a whole plant in a ceramic pot it wpuld have to not be command unless command has something that can hold more than 5 lbs and on the package it usually says it only hold .5 lbs for most of their hooks etc....

    I don't know if I coul EVER trust dhesive hooks to hang my plants. I feel so scared for my plants. I prefer to drill and at the end of my stay I just cover the holes. But my windows have a wood frame so there I use screw hooks. Thank you so much for this video, It was very helpful and you just gained a new subscriber :)

    I have been trying to figure out how to hang plants in my rental. All great ideas. Right now, I only utilize the clothing rack. I have used command strips to hang some plants, but I took it down because I was not in love.
    Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks for this video! You could also use a hair dryer to heat up the hook/adhesive and it will be much easier to scrape off and remove :)

      same here, did you come up with anything? I'm thinking to hang daisy-chained lightbulbs -- much lighter than plants obviously -- but still unsure hooks will snap to this uneven surface

    I love the clothes rack idea. For S hooks, did you look in the hardware store? Or in the hardware department of a store like Walmart? I don't know what stores you have in your country for home supplies and other bits and pieces, odds and ends.

    On the adhesive hooks (I got the version that are adhesive screws for shelving etc), I am afraid they will take paint off, though maybe a bit of heat can help. They say to not use on paint. Something I know for sure is that for the surfaces they ARE designed for (appliances, smooth surfaces like marble, mirror, etc), they absolutely come off while sticking very hard. The ends of them are less "tacky" and flip upward, the middle is some kind of suction plus glue.

  • @blukatzen
    @blukatzen Рік тому +2

    For the plant hangers with glue, I'd not chance putting a plant in with a nice ceramic or glass like pot. Once the glue dries out, and they ALWAYS WILL....CRASH!! There goes your plant cut up and , branches or length on Vining plants broken off. As well, kiss that pot goodbye.
    I was a landlord several times in my life, and BELIEVE ME I'd RATHER have you tell me you want to hang up a plant rather than ruin my new window area which I just spent $$$ on. For your benefit.
    Please tell me and I will bring a stud finder to see where the wooden wall stud is, so it will not get drilled into plaster or rockwall. when the weight and humidity work it's way, down she comes ESPECIALLY IN THE BATHROOM.
    I WORK HARD TO GIVE MY TENANTS A NICE COZY PLACE TO LIVE. I taught horticulture and ran garden centers for 24 years.
    But sometimes plant lovers can become hoarders, and it's not good for me, you or the plants. Do things the right way. Your landlord will trust you. They won't trust you when a chunk of their ceiling comes down with the plant and there's a gaping hole you caused.
    And you expect it to be fixed by the weekend......grrrrrrr.......

      You might be one of those nice landlords but mine didn't allow me to drill anything into the walls and said I should instead look into stick-on alternatives so I just did as I was told.

    • @SirPlantsaLot
      @SirPlantsaLot  Рік тому +1

      Do you mean the whole hanger or the rope used for the hanger? I think I got that hanger as a gift so not sure what the rope is, but for the macrame hangers I've made myself I use a Bobbiny 3mm cord 😎
