Vintage Coach lover here! You actually don’t have to soak them, usually just the saddle soap and conditioner do the trick. Soaking is very harsh for the leather and there is a risk of mold if not dried properly. Soaking is usually a LAST resort if it is absolutely FILTHY. I have cleaned and restored a number of bags and none have really needed the soak tbh. Hope that saves you some time and effort!

I’m sure a zillion people have already said this but the older 80s made in New York Coach styles have real serial numbers inside. They are individual for every single bag so that is not the style number. That bag is fabulous. And honestly you only need to dust it and maybe swipe it with a leather wipe. No worries about restoration or anything. Many collectors appreciate a little patina.
Some vintage clothes buyer will love that dress set.

Love your Coach bag finds!!!! I literally found a vintage Coach black mini bag style 9596 made in 2002 at Good will for only $9.99 this week!!! I think it was passed up or marked down because it had some white, drips on it (almost looked like salted water stains from in the wintertime). All I had to do was clean them off and condition the leather. What do you guys use for leather conditioner on Coach bags? I used some Dr. Marten Wonder Balsam and it looks great but wondering if there are better options out there. Love you guys!!!!
