Wow you bring confidence to a anxiety filled situation.
@@donblack1571 glad you’re feeling so!!
I owe this man 10% of my starting salary
LOL. Keep it or donate it to the charity of YOUR choice! :-)
First time negotiating Andrew and I followed all your suggestions. It resulted in $18k more than the initial base salary they offered, extra 2 weeks of vacation, 90% tuition reimbursement/career development, senior title/role, 10% annual bonus. I'm still in disbelief reading my confirmation letter
Thanks for all the value you provide Andrew!!!!!!!!!!
You are so welcome my friend!! That’s awesome!!! Huge congratulations 🎉🎊🍾🎈 and lots of luck 🍀 in your new job!!
@@andylacivita Thanks!
Wow! Any best tips?
wow, I'm curious about what your industry and job title is.

Huhu🤨🌞😠😢
When should you throw in the towel? When you walk out of the interview. 🤣 They’re supposed to contact you, not the other way around. I’ve realized I can’t get attached to opportunities because there are so many factors out of my control that I just devastate myself emotionally by expecting to be contacted.
Hang in there! Watch this video which will help you get information during your interviews so you know the employers timing and next steps, 3 Questions You Must Ask to Know When to Follow Up After Your Job Interview
Andrew, so much goodness here, great tips! The ATS one caught my eye because so many people these days know about it and think it's going to be the end all be all and it really isn't for the reasons you've clearly identified. Building and nurturing relationships is more important including with recruiters, thanks for the great video!
You’re so welcome!!!
Andy you did GREAT-always enjoy the stuff you give us. The stuff we do NOT know about the process is making us nuts.
Great to hear you enjoyed this Savannah!
Great video, thanks. The 8 questions you go over in number 4 are spot on! Good stuff man.
Love to hear it!
Thank you another great informational session. It possible you can go back and express on more of the negotiations part. I also watched the past video of yours on negotiation of salary.
You share the best info, I've ever heard! Thank you!
Appreciate those kind words Anita!!
Thanks for great insider tips. Nice to start the day with you and Ginger.
Thanks so much! Ginger and I and Harley too are doing well!
Thanks for the tips but I really don't need to achieve anything else in my life now that I am the first commenter on a LaCivita video 😎
Lena, you win life!!! :-)
Thanks so much for your videos, I was able to land a bunch of interviews and finally, a new exciting job using tips from many of your videos.. I've been unemployed for a year because of the pandemic and I'm relieved to finally be able to get back out there and work! I appreciate it!
You’re welcome Patrick! Love to hear it!!
I have been UNDEREMPLOYED during the pandemic and want to get back to what I was doing now that life is opening up again.
@@savannahsmiles1797 Oh I hear you, I was in the same boat. Good luck, I hope you find something soon. 🤞🤞
You are an HR HERO! Thank you, I learned so much from this video.
You’re so welcome Amber!
Guys. This is gold for senior jobs
Best video of 2021 hand down.
That’s some high praise Don! Glad you enjoyed it!!
This is good stuff, thank-you.
You are most welcome!!
Watching from South Korea,,,always helpful to me..Thank you again..
Great to have you!!
Amen brother 🎉
100% … I barely get a chance to read the resume before I interview the person. Good reminder for us all, and particularly myself as I am currently interviewing for a new role for myself.
Sure is!!
Good Info. Thank You!
You’re welcome!
Andy, once again. Pure gold you have delivered here. Would like your thoughts: I followed back up with the recruiter on next steps after 3 interviews and she did reply that she was waiting to hear feedback on next steps?
Is this a good sign?
???? Hi Andy, No question but wanted to thank you for all your help Andy. In the past year you have help me change my resume and cover letter and give me great skills and prepare me for the interview. I went through two interviews and got the the Job !! I start next week.
Huge congratulations to you Rob!
This was actually very enlightening and calming for me. Not going to lie I've gotten to the point of endangering my mental health because of the employment struggles. Sometimes getting an inside look of what happens can help with this.
Thanks for posting!
Great to hear Matt!!
it is as if we are not part of the club, and can't FIGURE OUT why not!
Another barn burner. Thanks Andrew!
You’re welcome.
Man I want to have a coffee in Andy’s sunroom…..
Lol! ☕
I’ve just been rejected by a job I was really passionate about. I don’t know how to feel to be honest apart from sadness and frustration.
I will be taking this into consideration in the future
Kieran, sorry to hear that my friend, but I would suggest checking out my video on how to get the job after being rejected!
Andy’s guidance is the best!
Appreciate that!!
Hey Andrew,
You speak the truth ! 😁✌️
I always speaka da trut’!!
@@andylacivita Sent you a ping on email, hope you got it.
I regret that I can only provide one upvote.
Thank you my friend. Hope the new job is awesome!
"Researchers" are called Sourcers. Good video.
They sure are!! 👊👊👊
32:45 That made me laugh, that's what I have been saying to myself (repeating what I said many years ago and it did turn out good without any effort)
👊👊👊
Hi Andy. What is your opinion on anon company annual surveys. It’s our only way to review management but I’m skeptical about being honest. Thanks!
Hi Jamie C, I answered that very question at this show on my UA-cam channel. The Employment Market: Why You Should be Getting Big Job Offers Right Now! Head to the 0:48:15 minute market.
How do you feel about glassdoor salary range on posted open position? I applied to job and range was up to 110k and after the HR interview, couple days later after I gave them my salary requirement, they increased the range another 20k.... so technically I could have asked for more.... I feel jipped.... mislead.
Don’t pay any attention to glassdoor.
About the Salary part. What if you have just a couple of interviews. I just received a new job offer but the process was one contact phone call from company recruiter, a videocall with the supervisor, and another call from the recruiter. I replied with a counteroffer exposing the goals of the role and my intention to exceed them based on my past results. crossed fingers!
@andylacivita LOL, Recruiter replied saying my counteroffer was outside the terms we discussed initially which was the basis of all our subsequent advance in the process. I told her in our first conversation my salary expectations were between X and Y and now, that the role objectives are clearer, I asked for let's say 0.95Y (they offered me 0.87Y). I think she didn't escalate the counteroffer. what do I do nooow!! 🥲
?? Does it matter if negotiating is over phone or documented in email? I had initial HR ask an HR manager to get more vacation, but still trying to say despite years experience have to start at bottom. What do I do?
Should one still counter the offer if the company offers 12% more than your asking salary?
and the award for most valuable content on UA-cam goes to......
Seriously Andy is the fckn MAN!
Buddy, this made my day. Thanks for that!!! 👊👊👊
What about companies which advertise the same job for 6 months or longer? Are they have a very high turnover rate? This 2 companies did just that Sketches and Best Choices Products. I went thru 3 months interview process, they are still advertising the jobs 7 months later
Usually, companies that have posts up for a long time leave them up indefinitely Because they’re always on the lookout for people with those skills. That does not mean they have a high turnover.
36:21 bookmark
Andy, why would a company advertise a role and then not look at any applications?
There are sooooo many reasons. First, they might have an internal candidate. Second, they might simply want the job description available for their executive recruitment firms to be able to share. Third, they might be a company which is required by law to publicly post all their positions. These are a few reasons.
Hi Andrew I’ve got a question. What does it mean when the interviewer does most of the talking and explaining what the position is all about and doesn’t ask interview questions to the interviewee? Would it be safe to assume that the interviewer doesn’t have good interview skills?
Tanya. First, you MUST come to live show February 21. I’m covering this exact scenario. Second, much of the time, when the recruiter is sharing a lot of information, they want to make sure you understand the position. They are also likely trying to sell you in the company.
@@andylacivita thank you for your reply. It was actually the hiring manager that was sharing all the information about the position and never once asked me any interview questions and neither did the assistant manager who was in the room. He did ask me one question, which was if I was comfortable with coaching and of course I said yes and gave a reason why. And then, of course, he asked me if I had any questions for him. in which I asked him three questions, of which one of them was the big question that you talk. These types of interviews blindsides me, as I go in prepared and ready to answer tons of interview questions.
Dear Andrew, Please help me rewrite my CV I have been applying for a job but couldn't land an interview because of a lack of CV expert writer
Happy to help.
Came here to tell you that there's a typo in your thumbnail for this video. "The" seems to be mistakenly written instead of "They".
Thank you. I’m aware. 😂 I do that to see if anyone’s paying attention and you are!! 👊👊👊
You missed backdoor references and/or defamation/detraction from prior employers. However, these don't appear to be problems that are solvable. If you know of an attorney who will take my case, I don't mind compensating you in some way.
Good looking dog
Thanks. We now have four. 😝

Glad you're enjoying my videos!
? hey @andylacivita #bootcamper here.
really love myth #3! really opened my eyes on the possibilities out there! employers are looking for candidates out there, job seekers should be doing likewise!
I would love your insights on these 2 myths:
- employers always prefer to hire those who look good
- employers prefer hiring someone who is already hired vs someone is actively job hunting
Andy, I'm on overIoad. Gracious, I'm going to rewatch this many times more and take notes. I had to stop the video and Iook up the word "EBITDA." You've certainIy make me IeveI-up.
