Nojoqui Falls, California. Closed? Still hikeable.

Nojoqui Falls, located in Santa Barbara County. This is a short hike to the falls. The fall is almost 100ft tall.
On Alltrails, it says the trail is permanently closed. I read some reviews that stated to just walk around the posted signs. When we got there, the parking lot was almost full, and people were ignoring the signs. The reason the trail was closed was because a tree fell on the path. It seems like it would have cost the park service less money to just remove the tree instead of putting up signs.
