Although it is still odd especially when you are reminded of Leela's DNA since the children obviously have some of her features. Certainly an interesting situation & way of making, for sure. I have given this a lot of thought. Humans wouldn't be able to handle that kind of mating, I don't think. To share DNA and see yourself in children but you don't raise them etc. At most you might be like an aunt to the kids even though biologically they are yours. I can't even imagine. I feel like Leela should have had more of a reaction to this but that's just me I guess. It is so odd to me how emotionally cold and distant her character can be sometimes. Like Fry said in that time stopping episode, it is a good thing that they never have children. I wish it were different but the only time we have seen Leela act maternal at all is with her pet Nibbler and in that episode where she almosted ended up with a popular handsome jerk from the orphanage where she grew up. Together they adopted a little orphan who had an ear on her forehead and was teased with no friends etc just like Leela had been while growing up there. It was almost happily ever after until Leela & her almost guy disagreed and fought over whether or not to surgically remove the unnecessary extra ear from the orphan girl's forehead. You can easily guess who was voting to remove the ear and who was not. Of course Leela thought she was perfect just the way she already was. Unfortunately though they could not come to an agreement and ended up breaking up all together because of course I mean he was* kind of snobby but still. Mostly I feel bad for the poor orphan girl though, because once they split I guess neither of them thought or wanted to raise a kid alone. I understand that but it still sucks for the little girl. Ugh I have mixed feelings when we see her throughout the show a few times after this where she was almost adopted. Damn so close. That would suck. Grrr. I know I shouldn't care because it is not real but meh it does. Anyway that's it.

As someone with a character that comes from a different country, my dm and I made it work. He traveled there to seek a new life and forget his past. No mentions of his home country ever came up. We only ever used dm’s homebrewed world. It worked out just fine
The original VA, Billy West, isn’t Asian, so they recast given having characters of colour played by white people can get a bit shaken nowadays. Doesn’t really affect Billy, though, he voices half the main and supporting cast already.
Billy west can no longer voice him since after 2020 white voice actors can’t voice people of color, the same thing happened with Dr Hibbert from Simpsons and Cleveland from Family Guy

After seeing that I'm kinda surprised he works for an asshole who makes his life miserable. I would assume his species would kinda be like the Krogans from Mass Effect. They aren't obsessed with war but definitely wouldn't take crap from anyone.
