Cortisol is toxic alright. I had allostatic load and shift work sleep disorder for an entire year working in a wood mill. Made me wish I weren’t dead.

the psychoanalytical view never said that you are in the "optimal state" if your psyche is well organized ... on the contrary, there is no "normal" structural position for the divided subject .. at one time it can only be in either a neurosis, psychosis or perversion position.

Interestingly (for me), I barely noticed the pictures, until I saw your comment, and fast forwarded through again, out of curiosity.
I was deeply following his narrative and automatically extracting the conceptual components, and so, had only a small mental allocation to visual input. JP's narratives are generally cognitively dense.
The main visual component I remembered after my first watch, was his side to side and up and down arm movements (cat vision).
Now I wonder, why the water fall? Damaged section of video, water and cats, vertical movement, WTF knows :). ?

The digressions he goes on (eg schools of cod, cat eyes) are really distracting. Then the random photos (wolves?) are confusing. It's as if the producer wanted to make the talk hard to follow...

yeah, it's an edit, just not a good one.

The digressions are a learning strategy to help recall. He’s really skillful at it. The audience was keeping pace and were able to reorient him when he lost the plot. Agree the edits were distracting.

Dogs only smell better than people if you don't take a bath or a shower in months. Or maybe JP really likes the smell of wet dogs.
