Lake District Walks: A Circuit of Buttermere
Вставка
- Опубліковано 23 чер 2022
- Distance: 8.8km (5.5 Miles)
Ascent: 160m (525ft)
Duration: 3 Hours
Buttermere remains one of the most popular valleys to visit in the Lake District and a walk around the lake that gives the valley its name is usually at the top of the list of things to do!
The walk is easy going and on good paths the whole way round. Offering a mixture of woodland and lakeside walking, the views are totally outstanding for such a small amount of effort to complete.
Parking is available in the village centre at a pay and display or at the National Trust Car Park just outside the village (also Pay and Display). There are two cafes in the village and two pubs serving refreshments.
Have any questions about the route or area I'm walking in? Why not get in touch via Facebook?

As an inexperienced walker your video has made a decision a lot easier for my family and I .
Many thanks.
Its a superb walk, im sure everyone will absolutely love it 😊
One of my favourite 'easy' walks in the Lakes - lived in the Lorton valley in my van for 6 months one winter - great place.........
One of my favourite 'easy' walks too :)
You captured it perfectly.
Thank You!
Love Buttermere, High Stile Ridge, Haystacks, Fleetwith Pike, Robinson and Grassmoor above all else in the Lake District. We used to stay at The Bridge with spectacular fell walks on the doorstep. Many happy memories of this beautiful valley. Thank you for the tour around the lake which was a favourite easy walk.
So glad you enjoyed it :)
Lovely video and a beautiful day. Roll on spring!
Thank you so much for your lovely video! I walked this on Thursday and it was truly an enchanting walk, really special and now I’m on the cross trainer at home and missing it so much and then your channel popped up as a recommendation and such a joy to be back there at least on screen till the next time! Thank you! 🥾🏔️⛵️
It is such a lovely walk and so happy you enjoyed the video. I know how you feel missing the beauty lf the Lakes!
One of our favorite places and walks in the Lake District. When we were there three years ago, we didn't get far because of flooding. Still a wonderful place to visit, though. For an American, however, the roads in and out are terrifying but worth it!
Think most 'Americans' would cope, and are used to worst roads. Citizens of the USA on the other hand will probably struggle, as they do with most things in life, when it isn't made easy enough for the lowest common denominator...........
Great video, thanks.😀
Hi from Oz!!!
Great scenery!!! Also you have lovely music! So rare these days. It's always hyped up doof doof music that is not relaxing at all..
Wonderful!!!
Thank you! :)
such a great video! thank you!
Thank you!
It doesn't get much better than that.
It was a perfect walk on a perfect day 😊
This looks awesome for someone like me who is not the best with hights or open spaces 🤦🏼♂️ I know, not a great combo for a hiker!! I always find that if I can't quiet het to a peak that there are plenty of other gorgeous hikes to be had close by. I have done much of the Peak Distrct but am desperate to come and experience the Lakes🙏🏼 and I think I may have just found the place to visit 😀 thank you
Such an amazing place! No heights to worry about!
Looks beautiful in the sun thank you. I do wish there was more tree cover and a more natural landscape in the lakes though, like there is in similar parts of Europe. In my personal view it would make the area even more beautiful by some margin.
I believe they are trying something like this in Ennerdale
Some people are never happy🤣
Beautiful video, I enjoyed viewing it.
Can I please ask, which is the best car park to use in buttermere and can you pay with cash ( or is it pay by phone app )
also which direction around the lake did you follow, clockwise or anti-clockwise. Well done on a great video, thanks, Tom
We parked at the National Trust Car Park which is free for members. Im not sure if its just cash payment as phone signal is terrible and im not sure if they can process card payments yet but it might have changed by now.
We went anti clockwise round the lake :)
@@WalkingintheWildwithJoeJackson thanks 😊
Just a little more of the camera facing forward and it would have been perfect.
