Thanks so much for this. Man ED has some insane sound design - the clicking of the menus, the soundtrack, the hydraulics and stuff in the background. Makes sense they invest in this since the visuals are 99% black, how space is ;)

Upon all the hours and hours I've spent playing this game doing deep core mining, I can literally close my eyes and envision every single detail by just the sound, from the proximity alert beeping and flashing, pulse wave analyzers scanning the asteroids fields, engines revving up, collection limpets collecting. Makes me want to play the game again, haven't touched it in a while.
Great video, the OST also makes the whole thing so much more pleasing.

I got my start as an opal miner.
To me, this is so incredibly nostalgic and relaxing. Nothing more calming than a day out alone in the opal fields
Now imagine experiencing this with a partner or a close friend by your side. Evertime I play ED I regret having isolated myself for so long. Ngl, even after five years the loneliness doesn't feel any better.

I played this with my high school friends years back. We'd have some deep ass conversations while we flew through space, talking about how life's been years after graduation, where we think we're going. Once we talked about how we expect to die. I miss those moments.

Is Void Opal mining even worthwhile in Elite Anymore? I used to do this like crazy when Deep Core mining was a massive money maker.
I always wonder if Elite is still alive and kicking. I've heard of so many big name players and fans who stopped playing Elite. I guess recently ED was stopping a big name third party app from being able to pull data from the game to update statistics as well?
I honestly don't know about the big names matter but, in terms of mining you can still make a good amount of money, the market has changed a lot tho. I recently picked up ED again and i'm focusing on surface mining for platinum, a good compromise between sell price and extraction speed.

i need help guys...i seem to have that mining bug where i go to a place to mine void opals or painite and none are in the hotspots,is there a fix for this?
Oh well, might be bad luck, before we jump to conclusions, have you tried another hotspot?
@@ExGold tried several,sent a email to frontier as well as others who had the same trouble.i do not start rumors...this IS a real problem.

I hope it helps, and also, consider that i've found 3 cores in a 2 h mining session as you see in this video, you'll figure out how to spot crackable roids since they're pretty damn rare.
