I can tell the Write Bros. is a little bit of a darker blue. Both look like nice pens. I haven't tried these but I have used the InkJoy 300RT and they are SMOOTH. It just glides on the paper. Papermate has stepped their game up for sure!
I'm back to tell you I've bought and tried both and Write Bros. was chosen by both my family members for smoothness. But I think the InkJoy feels softer maybe, even though they're both 1.0, the InkJoy FEELS thicker if that makes sense.
Hi Jamie! I think the softness you feel from the InkJoy is due to the different kind of ink that is used in the pen...it feels a bit more "cushioned" as it hits the paper. Thanks for letting me know - glad you tried them both!
Yes, I should have done that, although from memory I think the Ink Joy takes a little longer to dry completely, so it is more prone to smudging. Thanks!
Papermate needs to make the ink in those 1.0 mm Profiles darker. So far, I plan on getting the extra bold or 1.4 mm ones which are cheaper than the BiC Velocity (can't find one in blue).
Hi Linc Merc. I bought a pack of Paper Mate Eagle pens in blue a while ago and found them to be okay. I think the Bic Round Stic has better flowing ink, but I'll have to give the Eagle another try. Thanks!
@@AlwaysAnalog Yeah, they're probably not as good as those Jot pens you reviewed. Bic knocks it out of the park with smooth writing, inexpensive pens. Any refillable pen has the ability to become great with a great refill in it.
The ink is different. The ink in the new Write Bros has a really nice blue-gray tone to it. They write really well but the plastic barrel is very cheap feeling and the caps do not post tightly. It's also very stubby compared to the needle point of the Ink Joy.
@@AlwaysAnalog Your handwriting is worth watching the videos for! You and I totally understand the pleasure of using a writing instrument and the tactile feel. It's so comforting and enjoyable. I doodle with various pens (ballpoint, roller, gel, felt tip, fountain) to relieve stress. I have about a hundred writing instruments on my work surface at any given time.
...God those are confusing... that being said I still see some of the older narrow body Write Bros pens around.. this one looks like a novelty item to me for some reason..also the Ink Joy ball point tip looks like someone could snap it off, guess i'm just used to those nicely tapered tips like other pens. Makes me think it's like an after thought lol " OH NO! WE'VE FORGOT SOMETHING! HOW ARE WE GOING TO WRITE WITH THE DANG THING!"
LOL! The Ink Joy tip does sort of look "stuck on" but I've not had one fail yet. I was at an independent office supply store last week and they still had lots of the old style thin barreled Paper Mates. It may take a while for a complete transition to the new style in the marketplace. Thanks!
@@AlwaysAnalog ah well, I still need to use up our version of those “joy” gel pens. 9-10 work days on those things and they are out of ink . You get what you pay for lol
Thanks for the review. Write bros sold In Australia come from Mexico, Ink joys also from India. AU$4.75 per 10 pack . WB pricier $5.25/10. Black WB also darker. Have found I-J fades in sunlight. Not sure about W-B . PS word of the day - trilobular.😀
I did break open a write brothers (by mistake - was checking to see if they come apart - they aren’t meant to 😅) but the ink level in the WB is also full just like the inkjoy.

Hi Class J - I like the Ink Joy pens also. Super smooth!
Interesting assessment! Your handwriting looks smoother on the Write Brothers, which makes it SEEM like it would be more comfortable
Hi Jamie - I think the triangular shape of the Ink Joy is overall more comfortable. Thanks for watching!

Probably should’ve tested how much they smudge, if you’re left handed that’s significant for writing

I remember the old Write Bros. pens, & I was not a fan of them. Very impressive change. Good review.
Magenta is my personal favorite color for Inkjoys.
The magenta Ink Joys have a great color! Thanks!
Haha I thought I was the only magenta enjoyer! I love pink coloured pens of all kinds.

Hi Lucius - Papermate tends to use a lighter colored ink for some reason. Thanks!
Have you tried the Paper Mate Eagle? It looks just like the Bic Round Stic.

Hey did papermate discontinue the original stick pen l, u know the short slim ones that use to be only sold in office stores
@@captivatedroid69Yes, they are no longer being manufactured.
Good review! I just bought the Paper Mate Inkjoy Ballpoint 100RT click pens. They're very smooth.
Hi Bloom - those are nice pens! Enjoy!

Hi Alexander! I also like the tone of the new Write Bros. ink, and I agree that the barrel is very light and cheap. Thanks for watching!

You have beautiful cursive handwriting!!
Thank you so much!

Thanks for the information. It's always interesting to hear what pens sell for in other parts of the world. I like "trilobular!"
Do you know if both pens contain the same amount of ink?
Hi A. Plus - I'm afraid I don't know if they both contain the same amount of ink.

are they using nano sized chemicals in their ink now?
i love ur cursive oh magad
Thanks!
