Olympic opening ceremonies usually made me dream awake. Not cry and dream awake. But this one, made me did it. I waited from Mexico this opening ceremony for eight years since the very day Tokyo 2020 was announced. And was worth every second. "And it's not coming back to Japan for a long time!" I hope to be alive to see the next Tokyo olympics. Because next time, i'll do whatever i can to be there finally, seeing it from the stands.
Olympics is not just about how cool the Opening Ceremony should be, but also about the spirit of unity for the athletes and Japanese people. Thank you Tokyo for giving us the best Olympic Games the world ever experienced!

Now that the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics are over, I feel like I just traveled myself to Tokyo virtually and then came back home with happiness after such amazing atmosphere! Reliving Tokyo was absolutely perfect with this video!

for us, maybe the ceremony look boring.. but not for the perfomer.. that was beautiful moments in their life.. the sweet memory that they would remembered forever.. the story that they would tell to their children in the future.. this moment is probably once in their lifetime.. they would never experiencing Olympics again.. maybe they already getting old if Japan have a chance to host Olympic again in 50 years later..
exactly what I was thinking. Hats off to the performers. I was underwhelmed with the ceremony but I truly appreciate the performers for what they have done to contribute to this once in a lifetime of their lives. They have all done the best they can.

Performances in the original plan were to be Perfume, Daichi Miura, Tao Tsuchiya, Koharu Sugawara, AyaBambi, Mirai Moriyama, Naomi Watanabe and others. Moriyama was the only one from the original performers performed in the ceremony.
The Ceremony was fine but although others didn’t like it, it’s not as bad as the closing ceremony from gold coast 2018 and that one was pure cringefest. On the other hand, tokyo paralympic ceremonies were fantastic overall

原案が撤回された件は悔しいけど感謝です。制約がある中で3時間以上もの開会式を演出して頂いた皆さんありがとうございます。制約を考えるとこれでも素晴らしいと思います。オリパラロスだけど3年後があります。パリの皆さん頑張ってくださいね！楽しみにしています。
そして冬の2030札幌招致も悲願です。そしてまた夏、日本でオリパラを見たい！
半世紀に一度ペースなら僕は人生で2回目の日本でのオリパラを見れそう！

その開会式が賛否たくさんあったのは事実で、それは変えられない。ただそこに参加したパフォーマーやスタッフの方々の熱意や情熱は本物だと思う。

公式CDを出して欲しい。（費用は極力かけない形で良いので。）
ピクトグラムが断然良かった。あとドローン、荒川静香&劇団ひとりの寸劇、その後の競技会場が次々にライトアップされる演出は気に入った。他は解説がないと何かよくわからず。。海外の人たちは特にね。
あと、全体的にまとまりがなかったね。
聖火リレーはとても感動した。
