I’ve been struggling to find a way of moving the drawing around for months as I want to use a smaller piece of stock cut into 4 mm slices to create a gift box. Your video has answered my questions and allowed me to move on to the manufacturing stage. Many thanks for creating a simple and informative video.
Your vid is great, the box gadget not so much. It simply can't produce a simple frame, e.g. if I wanted to create a slide in drawer bottom I have no option as the gadget produces a tabbed bottom automatically. It is now March of 2023 and this fault has not been corrected. Not very responsive of Vetriv.
Barry, maybe sometime I could do a screen share and walk you through it. I will admit it wasn’t very intuitive, but once I got the hang of it, I could make anything. I might have to watch my video to refresh my memory lol
Thanks, I had the box creator and mostly do finger joints but trying some dovetails and the program does some strange things and does NOT nest the parts well at all. Other than that it works great.
Maybe they have made some adjustments to the program. But when I make a change to my design after making my tool path. I hit the recalculate tool path button and it moves all adjusted tool paths
No matter where I set the tolerance amount, the fit is way too loose. Any thoughts on a good starting point? With no tolerance, they are much too tight, with a 1/32 tolerance, they are to loose. And, are you using the box gadget to do dovetails? It said box making but looks like dovetail gadget Thanks
When I get time, I will do a video on how to do this. Should be easy enough using the gadgets. I wish my CNC would allow me to hold one piece vertical, then I would use g-forcecnc.com/jointcam.html
Glad I could help. I suggest watching videos on the CNCnutz channel, Peter has taught me so much from his videos. The tramming video and tool setter videos are my favorite.
Use the nesting tool then use recalculate toolpaths.
Hoped also showed the manufacturer and actual product
Exactly! Finished product would have been nice.

5 years later, you are still helping people with this video, you rock, thank you.
result video?? lol
I wish I could attach an image. I made a ton of these boxes, and they all looked great. Haven't made a box since LOL.

Thank you for creating this!!!! Helped me a lot
Anyone done a flat lid?
Thanks a lot for great help.

yes, if you make a change, you must delete the generated tool path and recalculate.

Try .007. Its going to depend on your CNC, but I have found .006-.008 works pretty good
Wish this could do simple drawers, I tried to uncheck the top and bottom but it always creates dovetail on bottom for some reason

I found this while looking for a way to center the toolpaths in my workpiece. I think this solves the problem. Thanks.

@@michaelhooper9729 Yeah, Peter is great. I remember those two.
