This looked like it was really fun! I love the format of your batreps. Charging a stunned unit instantly kills it, for the record. So you almost always want to activate stunned units first, and if you can, charge your opponent’s stunned units. ^^
The thing to worry about when fighting Hives - don't close too fast, go slow and take advantage of ranged combat. The Jackals caught the bugs' attention too fast, and they were able to close. Keep in fire teams, so each unit has supporting fire, Advance, don't Rush - let the bugs come to you.
@@hauntswargaming Just seems to emphasize the greedy mentality of the jackals sent in to try and loot the place. Not enough intel, no overlapping lines of fire, and lots of guys caught out in the open. Very entertaining game, as well as a very important learning experience.
I really like the format of gameplay and small talk, interjected by narrative developments at the end of each round, I think that created a really good vibe as a viewer. Also, the paint scheme of the jackals makes it easy for me to tell them apart (Elites, Melee Guys, Shooters) and I really appreciate that as well! Keep up the great work!!!
Wow... Those Jackals really took a beating. Apparently your dice discriminated against canines... Now armed with the better knowledge of how the rules work, REALLY hoping to see more of these battle reports from you guys. Time for those Jackals to go big hunting again...!!!
Great content! I love watching OPR Battle Reports. I've played a game with Jackals, and if you don't build properly, they can honestly be quite an underwhelming team. The Elites x Stalkers combo is a good one because you have a good balance of ranged and melee offense, but I'd have added at least one melee Beast Rider instead of the Trackers to soak up some damage. Also, one Veteran with either Hunt Master or Warlord is an absolute must for Jackals teams. :)
Thanks for the comment! To be fair it was only our second game with the Jackals. They definitely seem to require larger units to be competitive. And finding ways to take advantage of their carnivore ability. I'm excited to play some larger battles with them once we get our forces built up!
@@hauntswargaming Yep, and all Missions are made to be cross game compatible (ignoring some fluff if need be), thus Missions from the other Mission Packs can easily be slotted in too, if you'd want.

Sniper doesn't give +2 to hit it let's you shoot at quality 2+, so shooting into cover you should have been hitting on 3's Edit: ah this was addressed a couple minutes later lol
