If I'm not mistaken, the plaza actually gets fuller the more quests you've done, meaning that these people you're talking to again really are the friends you've made along the way. And if you've bought the house by this point, you can even find Astotheles and some of the developers on the roof.

I was nearly crying tears of joy the first time I saw all of the friends I guided Team Snakemouth towards making along the journey in the game at the ceremony (and I don’t cry easily)! I found it so rewarding to have completed almost all of the side quests before finishing the main story. I didn’t yet know how special it was that I was also able to talk with the bugs on the roof of their house.

Considering most of the flaws of this game mainly derive from being the studio's very first game and having no knowdoledge/initial budget to polish those details, this might aswell be the equivalent of paper mario 64, who faced similar issues (albeit different reasons) So this means the sequel will be the studios' TTYD, and will be EVEN better....HYPEEEEEEEE!!!!!
I love how this game doesn’t do that thing where after the credits, it just resets to right before you fight the final boss
yeah...
More games should do this

On your second playthrough maybe. Also don't forget to do the quests with spy cards, Elom, and mun they're easy to miss

You don't need to buy it, actually. A springshroom will show up next to the house if you haven't.

Cool.
I really like this part of the game with how every one you helped is here for you to celebrate.

I think that's exaggerating a bit, but it's no doubt an amazing game. I'd argue it's better than any of the Paper Mario games that inspired it.
Yeah, this game makes me almost want to say that sitting through that huge Paper Mario drought was worth it x)

I loved the small touch of a character from every side quest you completed being there to talk to in the end.
I loved going through and talking to all my old friends. Such a touching, triumphant scene.
Made me happy to see Astotheles here. In the end, he grew to appreciate Team Snakemouth.
Same Astotheles has always been my favorite character lol
Nothing like a HUGE celebration with everyone you've met along the way to close out a grand adventure!

"Just this once."

Verserer Gred ok. I 100% beat the game but never knew that was him lol
