What a chance you uploaded this just now, few weeks ago started reconstructing my Soviet VDV late 1970s impression, very useful video. If you want to learn more about Soviet Army from civil war up to the collapse, I have one Discord server inhibited by experts with years of experience.
Ich kenne einige Kameraden die in der Soviet Armee dienten. Die Mannschaften und Unteroffiziere hatten jeweils nur einen Satz Felduniform zur Verfügung gestellt bekommen. Das war in den Jahren 80 bis 90.
Very interesting video. As someone who focuses on the rifles, that style of AK-74 would have been more late ‘70s and especially more early ‘80s since I know for a fact ones produced between 1974-1976 had the 62 degree gas blocks instead of the 90 degree gas blocks and maybe they continued to for a little bit later, but the 62 degree gas blocks were definitely gone by the early ‘80s.
Hey there. Really great video. Gave ya a follow as I'm interested in the reenacting stuff myself. Especially the Soviet cold war period stuff. Have you thought about doing videos about ration packs would had had in these armies you portray? It'd be an interesting insight for reenactors who are curious about these things.
Nice video, very informative. Today I finally learned the name of those early pre-Afghanistan uniforms. By the way, will you ever post a tutorial on how to remove the ribs and then "fakelite" the magazines? I'm tired of having to run my LCT AK-74 replica modeled after the ubiquitous soviet original with what are essentially cheap looking replicas of bulgarian commercial magazines lol
Most of Soviet soldiers that I always saw always using AKS-74 with bandage wrapped around its steel, folding buttstock than seeing them using AK-74 with wooden stock. If it's wooden stock, they actually using the old AKM.
I dont like the Soviet Union at all, but they have some cool Loadouts and Aesthetics to it! Especially the Soviet/Afgahn Attire! Need to make one Myself in the near Future!
Very interesting video! If you can, could you make a soviet officer uniform guide (1960's-1970's)?
Cute + cute accent + cool moustache + reenactor = dream man

Happy Halloween, my brother, thank you for this video!
Great video glad you talked about the belts themselves many people get confused or mis inform others about what type of belt i.e Dress or combat belt.
Glad you keep making these amazing videos. I loved your imperial Russian videos!

Some nice work.
It seems like somewhere in the 1980’s the Soviet Uniform had changed pretty much.
Yeah by 1983 the New Afghanka uniform introduced
In the early ‘80’s I was expecting to fight off hundreds of soldiers dressed like you. I’m glad I didn’t have to.

@@solidslicc707 which is what said
Awesome, you should do a motostrelki winter kit
God I hate those mag pouches. They never stay put. Always slide around and get too heavy when full so they pull the belt down and cause it to sag

I like the look of the AK47/74 and bayonet and helmet, but everything else looks poor.
