    The pre-war pattern telogreika(used in the Winter War 19139 for example) actually didn't yet have a M/35 style collar, that was added in 1941, so the post-war telogreika(after the pocket mods) works for the entire war.

    • @oktoberfest4424
      @oktoberfest4424 Рік тому +3

      True, and many photos of soldiers wearing telogreika have been misidentified as m41 when in reality the soldier just put his collar sticking out, which makes it appear like a m41 collared telogreika. This is a little problematic as it makes the m41 appear more common than it really was.

    What do you think about the mid war switch to the tsarist style uniform? Was it out of necessity to simplify production or out of symbolism to evoke Russian patriotism?

    Thank you for the video as it is a good introduction for newcomers, I am too guilty of having the "tractor soles" sapogis at the moment, budget haven't allowed for the correct dot type. Luckily I own a pair of low boots (laced model) to have my puttees with until I can get the correct sapogis.

    Overall great video I loved it! A few things to mention, gymnastiorka (1943 model) with pockets existed, and was meant to be used by officers as well as standard version (but in reality both types were used by all the soldiers), however there wasn't really one type of fabric, in war time uniforms, there was used a veriety of fabric colours aswell as blends, And just one more thing, i know it is hard to spell but tielogriejka means litearly tielo (body) griejka (warming) and should be spelles with an accent on tie and griej with a little separation inbetween tielo-griejka, also to conclude according to my knowledge based mostly (in this particular situation) on Philippe RIO's book "the soviet soldier in ww2" which is, in my opinion must read, kierz pouches were used by some soldiers allthou they were rare, it is also worth mentioning that most of post war canteen covers are incorrect becouse of very wrong fabric and the fact that war time ones were more baggy, also the colour of the canteen is important, but the ones produces in the time of war were of a different shape (more tear drop like at the top), a little bit smaller with much different cap (that waried according to factory) smaller screw and made of two parts pressed together (top and screw part). Again, I am not trying to tell, that you Sir don't know what you are talking about, as I said the video was great, althou those things are worth to mentione.

  • @AidenWestori

    Where did you get the resources to find out that the British supplied B5 boots to the Soviets in the war? I'm currently interested in getting low boots and they seem to be one of the best plausible boots that were worn in the war.

    • @ottoman_reenactor_ct
