I just sat through a 12:02 review of a Forester and - loved every second of it. Why anyone would be watching a review of a McLaren Senna or a Porsche GT3 Touring of equal length, say, is beyond me. Here we learn the ins and outs of a modified Forester that still only gets 2 beans and move on to something else with a smile pasted on our face. Honestly, Sarah, another fun video packed with information.
Sarah, you're definitely not alone with being a bit apprehensive about the XT at first, but then just "getting it" after driving it. Mine sold itself on the test drive...there's really nothing else out there quite like it.
I’m still smiling from ear to ear! Absolutely LOVE this review! On a side note, the B-roll with you staring into the sunset was a nice added touch too. Nicely done. 👍🏻

Such a comprehensive, extensive, and enjoyable review! My wife had a 2015 forester XT and now i got her a 2018, and I love these mods, I bet she would too, so I plan on using this information in the future to set her up nicely, especially a stage 2 tune, sounds so sweet!

Zoë is going to miss the turbo boost when I sell my 2016 FXT soon. Hopefully she will like the sound of the 5.7 liter hemi in the 2019 RAM 1500 crew cab I plan on buying as soon as I sell the Subi.
We are driving my wife's slightly modified 2015 Unlimited Rubicon to the Maine Mountains Jeep Jamboree tomorrow. Next year we will trailer my highly modified 2007 Unlimited Wrangler behind the RAM.

Even if you don't need full-on winter tires out there (I run Blizzak WS80 195-65R15s here in New England), I can't overstate how awesome decent summer rubber is over all-seasons. I put Conti ExtremeContact Sport 205-50ZR17s on my '14 Impreza hatch, purely for wet grip in my case since it rains a bit here. It means I can drive pretty much normally no matter how wet it is. And they've made me want to do suspension upgrades because they're SO much better than any all-seasons!
PS: I went with the ExtremeContacts because almost anything summer will have more dry grip than I would ever need with a stock Impreza daily, but the Conti's had the best wet grip in every test I found. Plus they have the cool imprint that tells you when they've worn enough to reduce both the wet and dry handling enough to matter.
Oh, yeah, and keep the AS tires for going to the mountains, with two sets they'll bothlast twice as long!

best looking forester to date. the wheels and the front end are unique to a few model years.
You've literally done everything I want to do to my (currently bone stock) '15 FXT. They're no track or canyon monsters, but they're fun, practical daily drivers that can take you off road as well. I think few vehicles exist with as much bang for your buck as an FXT.
I'm not even close to having seen all the videos on this channel, but so far, this is my favorite.
Good review .... it’s amazing how fast you can get a handle on electrical & mechanical problems .... your mind is clicking faster than most shop mechanics.... ten years from now, when my little one is ready to drive, I’m gonna pull up your vids & probably light a spark

Thanks for the great review Sarah! I’ve had 6 Subaru’s. A1978 4wd wagon, 1985 4wd wagon, 1990 awd wagon 1997 outback. Currently I have a 2008 Outback and my wife has a 2017 legacy sedan. Love the legacy despite the Cvt. I avoided doing the complicated cvt fluid change and paid the dealer $280 to do it🙁
Only channel that I will follow for my forester needs. I just got a 2018 Forester XT and love it! It is actually my third forester. I especially like launch control hehe. I plan on doing a lot to the car, but nothing too drastic as i love the car and the simplistic look. Thanks for being a channel that actually explains mechanical workings and doesn't just show mods being put on! It's nice when people speak "car" and not "bolt-ons" haha.

Hi Sarah, when I lived in San Diego I bought a brand new 1993 Mustang Cobra; which I eventually put a vortek supercharger on it. The car had the beans! I had since moved back to Nebraska and the car just wasn’t the snow mobile, so in 2014 I bought my winter mustang: a 2015 pearl white Subaru Forester xt touring (turbo charged). A very practical buy. The more it snows, the better it drives : )

Pretty much going to piggyback off of your tune since we have similar mods haha my original tuner didn't do the best job and he couldn't provide me with a burble tune so for showcasing your car today, I thank you! I love my XT!! Haha!! Those backfires and pops are epic! Now you need the STI pink springs like I have. They are awesome! Looking at your black mirrors makes me want to do mine. Nice Video!!
killersushi99 I want BC racing coilovers and upgraded lower control arms.
BCs are nice but very stiff for DD. Depending on what roads you drive they will beat the hell out of you. Just something to consider = )

Nice car for a SUV and did not expect it had 250 HP, sounds well too. I do like hatchbacks too so roomy and spacy, much better then any sedan!

I would say. It depends on what you're really after. My xt hit 20psi racing a 525i which was fun, but the amount of fuel ups gets tiring lol.

Great review, I always wondered about Forester Gump. Seeing your Forester when I first found your channel made me seriously consider buying an XT. As someone with an 09 Impreza Outback Sport, I want more power so the WRX/STI was natural, but the utility of the hatch (like my car) made the XT so attractive. In the end, I'm waiting until the next gen WRX to replace my aging hatch. Thank you for your channel and have learned so much about cars from watching you. Also it is nice to see Tucson again (I once lived there for just over 3 yrs).

Being the owner of a 2020 Subaru Outback I am very interested in on- and off-road performance upgrades, and your work to bring out the beast are helpful. From a selfish point of view, I do hope that you will keep Forester Gump for many years and progressively upgrade the vehicle's capabilities. Thanks for doing what you do so very well!

Hi Sarah, great video ! I sold my manual SG XT and upgraded to a white SJ XT last week. Your videos on your foz have been really informative - thanks! I agree it’s a great daily. I am currently planning a lot of similar upgrades to mine. Already got the rally armour flaps fitted.
In the UK the SJ isn’t popular and no one stocks parts so I will be looking to USA & JP for parts. Love your humour 🙂

The review I've been waiting for. Loved it.
We traded in our Forester. It was the plain jane 2010. Had the leaking head gasket issue. I traded it for an Outback, I am glad I did really. I am older, so I dont need a sports car like that. We get LOTS OF SNOW here. what I do need is a car that can ha ndle snow. Not that the Forester didnt. I was suprised to find the Outback doesnt have duel exaust. My first Subaru had a faulty antiback fire valve. I loved hearing it back fire when pulling into the store lot. Shut it off...3...2...1... BAM! big back fire. After an old lady dropped her groceries, I learned to stall the car out under a load and it wouldnt back fire. I saved the backfiring so the neighborhood dogs would go crazy. It was a 1980' s Subaru Wagon.

Coming from an STi owner ,I like this car.
Scooby Doo are masters at suspension tuning and handling, the ride on my old sport wagon was excellent - very plush and absorbent on rough roads, minimal body roll and it would stick to the twisties like something rude to a sheet.

Watching from Australia, just booked in our my16 xt for a stage 1.5 tune. Dyno tune and j pipe. No exhaust (keeping it stealth) 30-40kw gain, cant wait!

Hey Sarah, I just bought a 2017 Forester 2.0XT Touring last week. It has the saddle brown interior and I pearl white. I went from a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland CRD (diesel) to this. So I am going to probably go more towards adventure style than street JDM. By that I mean the suspension (probably 2" lift), wheel/ tire will be meatier, and outside will be a bit different for gear but I want to do all the performance upgrades power wise. I can't wait to empty my pockets on it. Haha. Thanks for the great video which got me more excited and gave insightful help on what I want to do.

I love my 2008 FXT and was saving up to get a new 2019 XT this year but guess I'll be holding on to my old one for a while now.
