Dave, for the first time in years after a really tough time in my life, I went to work at a Target store in 2022 as a way to get back into the flow of things...on a schedule, get active, wake up to an alarm, etc. I averaged 12,000 steps a day with a peak at Christmas one day of 28,000!! It has changed my life in many ways both physically & mentally and I dare say spiritually as well. Thank you for this channel, it is important and so positive.

I can attest to many of these benefits in my own experience. I also suffer from depression and walking helps ease affects of this. I'm also on medication for it, but coupled with walking daily, I feel much better.
I completely agree that once you make that step to get out and walk, you can ease, certain pain and discomfort and get your mind to think along another track! Great advice Dave! As a health care professional, I can say that folks are always grateful to those who will encourage and empower them to get mobile👏

Thanks Dave. Always inspired by your videos. I walk every day, averaging close to 12,000 steps per day in total. My dedicated walk in the evening is 6 km at a speed of 5.5 kph. It is my daily reset.
Getting in my 4 miles or so everyday is the healthiest addiction I have ever had. I just dont feel right the rest of the day if I skip it.

Good food for thought
I have weak knees from early age (genetic stuff). I found out, I can strengthen them by walking. My weekly walking distance goal is 10kms. Not astounding, but mind you, it is 520kms per year. In summer, I manage to walk around 20kms sometimes. In winter, with bad weather and a busy schedule, sometimes a little less than 10kms. Rainy or cold weather can't stop me though! Snow, on the other hand, is a show stopper. Luckily there's only snow for around 3-5 days per year in Belgium.
didn't feel great last night, 9:30 went to walk for a few short minutes, felt better as I walked, stayed out forty minutes

What would you recommend for some person who is morbidly obese and has heart disease?
I can confirm all of these but especially how walking curbs a sweet tooth.
