I'm very interested in this kayak! I'm just unsure of the pros and cons of getting the 106sk vs the 126sk. I'm new to kayaking. Could you please enlighten me?
Some of making the choice has to do with your height and weight, we could recommend if you call our store and speak to someone with knowledge on proper fit. The pros and cons, 106 is lighter and more suited for smaller paddlers, cheaper to buy, cons it will sit deeper in the water than the larger 126. The 106 will turn faster, but not track as good as the 126. The larger boat has more displacement and will take less water to float, so it is easier to paddle, less effort. Go for the 126sk. It’s awesome faster then the 106 way more leg room so if u wanna put a dog or a small kid or a big soft cooler of a giant submersible duffle bag it fits with zero issues between your legs. It’s also easy to Carry I’m 6ft and 145 I can throw it on my Toyota suv with no problems. I have learned the average recreational boat is 10ft. And a good performance touring boat is always going to be longer then 10ft. Hope these answers can help with any questions, I just bought mine back in Christmas of 2020, best kayak I have owned.
If you can swing the Loon, I would recommend it. It has great paddling characteristics, a natural keel line at the stern. The additional plastic layers and dashboard make the Loon a top caliber rec boat.
No, Old Town hasn’t done anything. Some people buy the loon dash and put it on the Sorrento. The fit isn’t perfect tho, it does take doing minor modifications to the boat.

The Sorrento costs $200 less and weighs 5 lbs. less if those matter.
Is there such thing as a dash attachment for the sorrento? Something like what the old town loon offers? Cup holders, compartment ect...
