- Sit back and watch this of painting demonstration then try it for yourself. A simple composition, sunlight and trees is all you need for a fun and pleasing painting. This is the exact approach that I teach my online art students too. Keep it simple, focus on the light and dark shapes and lots of paint. Wonderful!

You did it again. Lots of shapes, lots of colors and ultimately a beautiful painting!
I loved the music you added. It really compliments the mood. Beautiful painting! Again, you’ve proven that “value does all the work but colour gets the credit”.

Incredibile trasformazione! Fantastico!🌹

The way you use colors is unusual for me and yet so so amazing!! I can imagine how much you must be enjoying painting these ☺️☺️👍
Thank you very much!
i like that seem to work in different areas 🔆
Thank you - this is exactly what I was looking for.
Glad it was helpful!
Just what I needed to continue my painting :o)
Excellent!
This is the alla prima way of oil painting in one setting, isn't it
Yes it is.
Absolutely wonderful!
Many thanks!
Very inspiring! Beautiful!
Thank you Wendy
Lovely. Very enjoyable.
Many thanks!
EXCELLENT. I wish I could paint lik that but I am lost in the details and in my analytical mind.
Very nice I enjoyed it.
Thank you!
Loved the demo. Right up my alley and within my basic ability. Very good of you to post this. (Also following you on insta. You're a great teacher!)
Happy to hear that, thank you!
I so love your demonstrations! Are you painting on paper or on a panel?
On a panel for the most past.
Amazing way of work...is yours!
A question the paint you're using from the begining to the end is without any medium???
Thank you. No medium for this alla prima approach. If your paint is thick and difficult to work then a few drops of linseed oil only. Also use bristle brushes which helps.
It's good to know if you use one brush all the time and if you clean it or not. Your answer will be very important. Thanks.
Most of the painting is done with one brush and I clean it every few strokes with tissue.
Love your color palette! Would this painting be considered high key? Loved the video and thank you for producing it…. May I ask what colors you used here?
Thank you, I would not call this high key although there are light shapes in it. The large dark mass shape and shadows are the key. Palette is white, lemon yellow, orange, deep yellow, yellow ochre, burnt sienna, red light, alizarin, ultramarine and cerulean blue.
@@MalcolmDewey Thank you much Malcolm! Your work really is beautiful!!
Hi Malcolm.Fantastic! Can I ask what brand bristle brushes you use? Also what colours have you on your palette for this painting? Thank you
Thank you. I use Raphael Paris Classic and Daler Rowney bristle brushes. The palette is standard for all my work: warm and cool of the primaries, (red light & alizarin, ultramarine and cerulean, yellow medium and lemon yellow, burnt sienna and yellow ochre and titanium white.
Beautiful. Could you mention the colours on your palette for this painting. Thank you v much.
Thanks. The palette is standard for all my work: warm and cool of the primaries, (red light & alizarin, ultramarine and cerulean, yellow medium and lemon yellow, burnt sienna and yellow ochre and titanium white.
Wonderful! Do you ever use oil medium?
Thanks. I try to avoid mediums and use oils that are buttery from the tube. If necessary then a little linseed oil is fine.
@@MalcolmDewey I just bought old holland oil colours, very expensive! I used to use liquin but after seen your demos I will not use it anymore . Thanks, you have refreshed my way of painting!
Merci ,magnifique quelle connaissance des couleurs exceptionnelle vous possédez. Je vais essayer avec de l’acrylique .vous nous donnez l’envie et l’energie . Ou trouver votre palette de couleurs ?
My palette stays the same: titanium white, cerulean blue, ultramarine blue, cadmium yellow lemon / deep, cadmium red light, alizarin crimson, burnt sienna, yellow ochre. If I am lazy I will add cadmium orange.
@@MalcolmDewey merci Malcolm pour votre reponse et pour le grand plaisir a vous ecouter et vous regarder non stop !
I loved to see you painting! Seems so easy. I learn a lot, in special about how to mix colours. Do you clean the brush between them?
Mostly just wipe the brush with tissue. Then pick up plenty of clean color.
What is your color palette here please?
titanium white, ultramarine, cerulean blue, yellow lemon, yellow deep, orange, burnt sienna, yellow ochre, red light, alizarin crimson.
@@MalcolmDewey Thank you Malcolm! The hardest part for me is the palette😕
