  • The 1954 film On the Waterfront tells a sordid tale of corruption and crime in a New York longshoreman’s union. According to Robert Fitch, author of “Solidarity for Sale,” not much has changed in the American labor movement. Fitch tells Steve Inskeep that today's unions ranging from the garment industry to construction to the longshoremen are "classically corrupt."
Wyatt Scott's life experience - "Like Dylan sang, Unions were a good idea until greed got in the way. There of course needs to be laws to keep these greedy corporations from raping and pillaging, which they are doing at an all time high these days, but the history of our Unions unfortunately has been that they are just as corrupt as the corporations. No solution for you or I just yet, and I'm not holding my breath for improvement in your lifetime or my children's. If you are a good person, you are basically fucked no matter blue collar or white collar.
I worked what probably 30 or more blue collar jobs from the age of 14 till I was 28 and they all sucked ass big time. I finally realized in my late 20's that if I continued on that path I would have a miserable existence in this matrix we call reality. In 2000, with some small monetary assistance from my mom coupled with student loans, I went back to college at Cal State San Marcos, an affordable and quality CA State University, (yes you can afford college, but you need to get off your ass, fill out some fucking forms get some loans), and completed my bachelors in accounting at the ripe age of 32, this after a punk rock n roll life from age 17 thru 28 playing bands out of Oceanside CA.
I've always detested and thought short sighted and Simple Simon thinking process the zietgiest of certain punk rockers that slag educating oneself. If you want to continue to shoot yourself in the foot and go against your own self interests and prosperity in this life, then that is your choice. My choice was to learn more about this world and how it's operating so that I could infiltrate and work to make it a better place for you and I.
Thus, my white collar existence as a CPA since 2003, and while it has brought me a more than decent lifestyle here in very expensive Southern CA, it has also been much more brutal and soul crushing than my 30 plus blue collar jobs ever were. I am, not by choice, an SEC whistleblower, who by my own values and CPA code of ethics, took out a CEO, CFO and other top brass assholes who were threatening me as I uncovered their frauds at a company here in San Diego. That's not my only fraud rodeo, there have been several others.
Almost all corporations have a degree of corruption and fraud going on. That has been statistically proven. I've been fucked with hard my whole career just for being a good and honest guy trying to make a decent living. In spite of it all, I've always stayed true to my values of respect and love for others. So, my message to you is, don't be that greedy asshole, put a Clash or Rancid record on and get some real life lessons on how to operate and treat others with respect and decency. You don't need to crush others to get ahead.
Education is not selling out, it is a means to making your existence better by earning more so you can afford decent food, living conditions, health care etc., in the short time we are here and a way for us good people to infiltrate our corrupt systems that can and will only be improved if more like me choose to make that happen thru our positive, selfless and loving actions. Basically, pay it forward."
    Name
    You don't know my name
Man, you don't know my name
Yeah, you don't know my name
Man, you don't know my name
Paint a number on my head
    Work me until I'm dead
    I can't believe I've wasted
All of these years I've tasted
For a million days and nights
And all the, pain and struggle
    All for what I ask?
    All the hate and trouble!
    You don't know my name
Man, you don't know my name
Punch drunk, from the punch clock
    Opportunity never gonna knock
No more workers are from blue collar
    All the Unions, getting smaller
    For a million nights
And all the, pain and struggle
    All for what I ask?
    All the hate and trouble!
Yeah, you don't know my name
Man, you don't know my name
    You don't know my name
Man, you don't know my name

Funny thing, I’m actually left handed but there was no left handed guitar for my poor ass available when i was 15 in 1985, so it’s Joe Srummer style for me. he was left handed but played right handed for the same reason no lefty guitar available . fuck the turning it upside down and restringing crap. It’s actually for me a good thing because my strong hand can do all the intricate fret work more easily , but the downside is sometimes my right hand can’t keep up as well as i want it to especially when i’m playing certain things like Van Halen or Malmsteen etc.
