@@josephkirby3735 what about Terry blacks? Also any recommendations on Mexican? Or taco trucks? Just moved back to North dallas and I got spoiled living out in California with the Mexican food. Literally the only thing about that state I liked
I grew up in North Carolina and ate lots of pork bbq with the vinegar-based and mustard-based sauces (along with hushpuppies, red slaw, and Brunswick stew) and I still enjoy it. However, Texas BBQ is legendary and amazing. Pecan Lodge is definitely on the list of places to eat next time I'm in the Metroplex.
Chris if you're here for awhile try lockhart smokehouse as well its south in the bishop arts district. Just as good in my opinion but no huge line and a little cheaper.
@@glensirett446 There's only three reasons why you wouldn't find a line outside BBQ joint. 1). There barbecue is sold out. 2). The Cowboy game is on and they're not showing it! 3). They're not Southerners and they don't have a single clue about barbecue.
We tour around Texas looking for great BBQ. Pecan Lodge bbq is good but doesn't hit with that smokey flavor like others. I'd say it's more of a milder flavor. The bbq is good but the sides are just average. I think Lockhart BBQ in Dallas is better. I'd even put Hard Eight BBQ in front of Pecan Lodge. Further south, Terry Blacks and Salt Lick in Austin are my go to places. I'm looking forward to trying Hutchins and Hurtados.
I ate there 4 years ago. I got all caught on the travel channel hype. The Dino Rib was good, but the brisket, Sausage and Spare Ribs were very disappointing. I’ve eating Brisket at Franklins, Blacks, Coopers, Salt Lick and Kreutz and no comparison when it came to the brisket. Those places brisket were way better than Pelican Lodge.
Great place. Not sure it's the best in Dallas anymore though. That's not a knock on Pecan Lodge though because their legacy for helping Dallas area step up their BBQ game can't be overlooked.
The brisket is so tender and delicious. But honestly the other meats don't have that real bbq smoke flavor, the sauce is not really that good and the sides are mediocre and kind of disappointing. I think for the price it's overrated but again, the brisket is phenomenal.
I went and was so excited to finally try so called best bbq in Dallas and was very very let down. I got brisket I wasn’t impressed my brisket was cold and the greens were not traditional southern greens that I’ve been eating my whole life. I’ve never had greens that were red
Manny Medrano your joking right, I have had the yuppie/hipster BBQ in Austin, overrated garbage, where can BBQ better then Hutchins be found? Actual place not area? What is the best place to go around McKinney area?
I had heard about this place, I was very excited, I am not a person who likes to complain but I am really disappointed that I invested my money in something that is not worth it, you have to pay a high amount for only two pork ribs without No companion and by the way they deliver them cold, please do not believe too much in what they are told or read, there are many options much cheaper and of better quality where you can enjoy a barbecue here in Texas, I would not recommend it, it is very expensive and I see It is only famous that it is well located but it is not good. Please please do NOT come here
Just ate their..& it sucked!!!! If people think this is the best thry just do not no better & apparently its alot of people that do not no better the line was around the corner & once u got inside it was another hour wate everyone looked happy but i was not i bought the trough & wanted to leave it...i went here not being byass because i am from tulsa ok..but our lowest bbq place wich is rib crib is better than this place
Guy Six We have Dickey's here in NC. The big yellow cup is great for making a Dr. Pepper Float in after the meal. I was born, raised, and lived in North Carolina my entire life and Texas has the very best bbq ever.
SO GLAD I WATCHED THIS!!! We almost didn't come because my husband has a nut allergy and was scared.
2017, the best dfw bbq was found in McKinney at Hutchins bbq
My family loved The Daytripper. I'm always bookmarking spots they suggest for when we're on day trips.
I've lived in DFW area for 20 years. This place is the bar when it comes to BBQ. Nothing has come close. Get there early though!

Im from london, So if i can be told by a someone who know's, What is the best, Franklin or Pecan. going to texas soon. ?
That's a tough call. Both are top of the game. You'll simply have to eat both and decide. 🤠
We walked in, saw a huge queue and walked back out again.
Been to both several times. Both are real good but Franklins is the best. Why not go to both places its only a 3 hour drive from Dallas to Austin
Pls go to pecan lodge..Franklin's overrated

Pecan lodge is hands down the BEST !
