My father turned 83 yesterday. God bless you Mr. Sahakian. I too am a business owner and your videos are both genuine and inspirational. Thank you for taking the time to post such wonderful memories. They encourage me to reflect on my own. Thank you.
I've been there last Saturday, after choosing a pair of cigars I was taking some pictures of the shop and I didn't notice that Edward was there, and we took a picture together. He called me "my friend". What a gentleman, what a kindness. Next time I will be in London I will be back there for sure.
Im spoilt for choice with the quality of the sahakians's videos, ive said it before and i dare say ill say it again a pleasure to listen to both father and son.💚💚👍👍
Lovely video ... 40 years of bringing us one of the finest pleasures in life .. congratulations Edward , Eddie and family.. looking forward to seeing you in the shop again.. very best wishes.. David 😎💨
The worst that could happen is that i would have enough cigares for the rest of my life. What a great man . Wonderful. I have just watched this yet again. The last few minutes. Very touching. Thank you very much.
It is rare in this days to see a true gentleman with all it's meaning. It is a true pleasure every time watching a video with both of you gentlemen! Your shop is a sure destination in my list when I will visit London! I watch this video enjoying my cigar and coffee and I wish you another 40 years of success! Best Regards.
the best episode so far from this channel, what a lovely conversation with a lot of nostalgic moments, talks with the sahakians are just delicious, hope to meet them one day in their luxurious yet cosy shop !
I’ve never smoked a cigar in my life. But I enjoy listening to the great Edward Sahakian and his very classy son Eddie. I can listen for hours to these two. A child is born a gentleman is made.
Is it possible to hear a little more about Edwards pipe smoking, I seem to recall from previous videos he also enjoys pipes. Ps thank you for your wonderful videos.
What a lovely, heartfelt video. Brings tears to my eyes. Well done to Mr Edward for creating something that money cannot, Love, a family full of love, and friends who adore you for being just you. Thankyou.
Fantastic video. Congratulations to Edward and your family! I will always remember how kind and professional you were when we met at your store last year.
I purchased my first ever box of Cigars from Davidoff London in 1986, to be honest I was very nervous about entering, within 5 minutes totally at ease and treated so nicely. Now although I’m no longer living in London, once the pandemic is over I will be popping in to re live the experience with pleasure.
After watching many of your videos, and of Kirby’s interviews as well. I’ve truly become connected to you gentlemen and to the Davidoff brand. I simply cannot get enough of watching you both carry yourselves in such proper mannerisms and high level of edict. It is truly refreshing. In saying so, I certainly hope I get the opportunity to come visit you both in London. To have the honour of sharing a cup coffee and cigar with you gentlemen. I have called your store in the past few weeks to inquire about certain products. Without skipping a beat, your high level of standard is certainly well noticed within your team. Wonderfully knowledgeable and respectful. Due logistics to Canada being a nightmare, my purchases would have to wait till I’m there personally. Eddie, if there are other methods of contacting you, I’d be than ecstatic to reach you through those channels. All the best to you both and many more years of success and health! Cheers Emanuel
What a wonderful soul, it is a joy listening to everything he has to say. Thank you Mr. Eddie for sharing this i look forward for more storyes to tell from you and your father.
Your story is a wonderful one and your passion for cigar smoking has drawn me like a moth to a flame. It’s just a shame that this has waited till I’m 50. I can’t wait to visit your world-famous shop when I’m in London next time to have the honour of meeting you and the pleasure of picking up a few sticks with your help. Yousif, Bahrain
Mr Sahakian you are my role model and i absolutely look up to you & and have been in love with every Davidoff since ove been 17 but have never had the opportunity to ever try a Davidoff i know you wont see this but this would make my dream come true to get sent at least 1 Davidoff cigar!!!!
I would love to buy a book about Davidoff of London, full of stories and photographs from the early days to now. What a book that would be. I feel blessed for having your shop as my cigar sanctuary for the last 20 years. Edward Sahakian is a living legend. There may be a lot of cigars purveyor in London but there's only one Davidoff of London. Long live the Sahakian dynasty and long live Davidoff of London.
What a lovely video. Nice to see such calm and gentle men. Congratulations on your 40 years success and long may we have cigars and gentlemen in this fine country.
I really enjoy listening to Mr Sahakian. Also one of my favourite uploads is " The Perfect Gentleman " love that story about the solicitor writing to Davidoff of Switzerland.
MY step son resides in London and will be stopping by your shop over the next few days in order to purchase a box of 10 of your 40th Anniversary cigars and bring them back to the states for my Christmas gift. His name is Aaron Hutchinson and we are very proud of him. Looking forward to tasting these beautiful cigars! Although he is not a smoker, I am hoping he will enjoy one of these fantastic treats with me while he is here. One can only hope.. Cheers you two!
Thank you for this interview. You are both an inspiration. Quite by chance about 3 months ago I tried a Davidoff Millenium Oh my goodness what a cigar! I used to tell my son there is no difference in cigars, now we sit and relax 3 or 4 times a week enjoying cigars and wonderful conversation. I hope we can meet you one day.
Absolutely fantastic. Hope I have the chance to meet you guys! Just smoked a davidoff grand cru n2 and what an Absolut joy. Hope to meet you guys soon!
I too work with my father every day so I know the unique dynamic it creates. Marvelous video; I would like to see a video tour of the London shop and perhaps even the behind-the-scenes areas. Best from Kentucky, USA.
I have to say, im new to the cigar world. Had my first one 3 months ago and have evolved a lot ever since. Your videos have made me a cigar lover. watching your videos, seeing the bonding it brings just gave me a nostalgic feeling. If i ever come to london i want you to know its to meet you two and hopefully sit and have a cigar with you two and maybe have a great story to tell afterwards. Im still smoking regular cigars as i call them and havnt worked my way up to davidoff but plan on doing so soon. I figured i would learn a bit on the cheaper ones so i can have a sense of what davidoff quality is like compared to the rest.
Eddie what an amazing father you have. Such an inspiring person who always has great words of advice for his fans. Wishing a long and healthy life for you both. Hope I can join you both for a smoke one day. Cheers!
William is a lawyer who Edward was introduced to when first moving to London. There is some more information on Edward's past here: www.davidofflondon.com/pages/edward-sahakian
Hi sir, i’m from Iraq and i’m so in love with cigars specially davidoff’s, Recently i got the year of the horse limited humidor, brand new and my cousin has the year of the snake metal humidor My plans are to bring it and unbox and open it in your store and fill it up with davidoff’s from your shop, may god bless you and your lovely family, It’s so hard to find davidoff’s stuff here but i’m always lookin around, Kind regards.
Wonderful conversation, thanks for doing this Eddie. Hope that both you and your father are doing well. I noticed that Mr. Sahakian re-lit his cigar numerous times during this interview...was this because, in between conversing with you, he wasn't able to puff on it consistently enough for it to remain lit?
Thank you for your kind words and best wishes. We are all well, thank you. The touching up on the cigar was definitely down to being in deep conversation!
I cannot wait to come and visit when circumstances allow however I have really enjoyed watching videos about you both. Your various videos with Kirby are great and essential viewing. Thank you for making them. Eddie, is that a Speedmaster I glimpse from time to time in your wrist?
My question is, what did Edward do before he opened the store? Because he must have earned good money even before that, If I understood correctly. Maybe I missed him answering that, but I hope to hear more about his life before the Davidoff store. Thanks
Edward and his family were in drinks production back in Iran before fleeing the revolution. There is a small piece on this www.davidofflondon.com/pages/edward-sahakian
It's very unfortunate that you couldn't be open for your 40th Anniversary. One can only hope that you both will be there to celebrate the 50th will all your friends. Until then, when is the shop reopening? J.J. Fox has been open for quite a while now, and i believe they even opened their cigar lounge.
Hi Cristi, it was a shame we couldn't celebrate how we had planned but health always comes first. We are open albeit with slightly reduced hours to before, although without cigar sampling at this time. Looking forward to welcoming you back soon.
I'm 3:38 seconds in.... I'm sorry you can't celebrate how you'd like to but, you two are an advertisement for cigars. I'm not saying it's good for you, however you show that it can be done right... You can enjoy a cigar and if you've taken 20 minutes off your life, you've probably re-balanced it with 45-60 minutes more of less stress than you had 20 minutes previous if that makes sense. Congratulations on 40 years! I'm just getting into cigars and can't wait to explore different kinds, types, origins and sizes. Slánte from Ireland 🇮🇪
Thank you for your kind words Darragh. It was a shame we couldn't celebrate with all the wonderful things we had planned. Enjoy the journey of cigars, even after 40 years we're still learning! Slánte
I love you and your fathers relationship dynamics. True respect and love. I'm always serving my father and paying his bills, debts and have him live with me but he is toxic.
Brilliant video. I pray that my sons and I share the love these two gentlemen have for each other.
Thank you Sam. We hope you and your sons are well and we're sure you will enjoy many precious moments together.
What a wonderful Gentleman ..and a testament to hard work ..and the goodness of kind friends ..and loving family ..
Thank you for this amazing video! God bless you guys!
How does one person offer so much effort and interest to every given moment..amazing!
Such an Inspiring and Beautiful Interview.. Make your work your passion. To 40 more years.
Cheers !
