We have the first torqstorm g8 in the 10s. It’s also the fastest torqstorm g8 to date. We also explain what happened on our dyno day and what we did to fix the problems.
Your pretty quick but I'm right on your heals with my torquestorm G8 right here in Michigan I ran an 11.3 on 3 psi. But I can't get over 8 psi with my setup for some reason and I am running the 3.1 pulley so hopefully I can get that figured out.
@@gapfactorygaragellc yeah I had the Frostbite intercooler but I bought the mishimoto M line but I have hit 7psi with the 3.1 pulley so I think I'm gonna to a 2,5 pulley and hopefully it will build boost quicker instead of at $7,000 RPMs and hopefully I can get some more out of it that way

It would do great. They have a g8 that’s owned by one of the guys parents. They daily it and drive it from Michigan to Florida and back every year. I think they said they have over 20k miles on it and they still make passes at ls fest every year.
I first noticed when I was torquing down rockers and seemed like I was tightening them to long. Then when I checked preload they seemed about max amount you can run so to be safe we changed them.
How many miles were on the motor before you installed the torqstorm, and did you gap the rings? I have an LS2 in a single cab and am thinking about putting a torqstorm on it.
Around 120k and dident gap rings. In the truck I always use 150k plus mile engine and never open it up to gap rings. You would be fine. I know of cars pushing 1200-1400 hp to the wheels without ever pulling pistons and rods out to do rings or bearings.
@@gapfactorygaragellc thanks for the quick response. I've got a 50k mile Ls2 with prc 227 heads, going to get a supercharger cam specd by Pat G, a tbss intake and 1 7/8 headers. It has a Jakes 4l80 with a transbrake and 3.73s. It's basically the same truck as yours just with an aluminum block, I'm hoping to dip into the 10s. I will have to run 93 and meth though (no e85 here), I figure my compression will be 11.3 or so.
@@Dave_Bee gotta do an aftermarket 2.9 like griptech and that voids warranty. Also the torqstorm max out around that range due to the physical housing and turbine just not having the ability to move anymore air
On trans fluid and because when it’s at higher rpm the fluid can move away from pickup or get saturated with bubbles and cause the trans to slip on the shift

We got her to go a little faster this year. New pb is 10.25. Our most psi with the intercooler is 9lbs.

You can get a griptec pulley conversion for the torqstorm, I have one on the way it’s a 2.9” if u ever wanna pulley down some more
I’ve thought about doing that but I am also wondering if the blower is already maxed out as is with the heat that it produces.

Where exactly were you having boost leaks? Was the head unit leaking also? Seeing fairly low boost on mine with the 3.1 pulley.
Head unit leaked sent it back for a o ring and two ic pipes
Hey did you have to upgrade the fuel pump for the torque storm? .. I'm thinking about getting the TS on my ls3 .. still on stock cam
We did upgrade fuel pump and injectors on pump gas but only a 380. On e we did a full custom fuel system

Are you still running on standard crank hub and pulley ?

It is an auto just has a triple disk lock up converter. It has a 6l80 trans so we have od.

Is that maxed out ? torque storm doesn’t offer anything smaller for a pulley ? It would love another 2-3 psi

I do not off my head and it’s a great for the money. And yes we are hitting around 11 psi max on a pass.
