- This is a show I directed in 1988. It was called The Last Concert. The soundtrack was nominated for a grammy. So, guess what? It wasn't the last concert! I will upload this in chunks.
Excellent! 5 Stars! Thanks for posting and sharing this classic.
Dude!!! I'm stunned to see this! THANKS!!!
dsdeutsch, thanks so much for posting these. It is great to watch the boys at work, and funny to see Dudley with no 'stache.
There have been several bluegrass supergroups since, but I don't think any have come close to the talent assembled in the JMB, they were simply outstanding.
They are one of the best bluegrass bands ever!
wow! thanks for posting this, it's awesome
I believe this concert was shown on a PBS station about a year after it was live. I had it on a VHS recorded off the PBS broadcast. Sadly, I had a house fire in ‘93 and it was lost. Would love a CD of this concert.
Buy the Johnson Mountain Boys' live album, "At the Old Schoolhouse". It won an IBMA award in 1990 and is the greatest live bluegrass recording EVER.
Thanks, dsdeutsch. I was thinking that was maybe the case. Thanks for the clarification and even more so for posting this awesome footage.
I was there this is great!
Folk music in overdrive, that's what they call it!
Yes, sclawman. This is the concert from which that album was made.

Some songs can be TOO fast! This one fits that category. Less is more!!!
A year later I am asking the same question, Can the video be purchased legally? Would love to have it. Just got floored again. Thanks.
