I got this unit after about 6 months of research online, watching this and other videos and discussions with people who are cigar enthusiasts. This unit is the perfect size and works as advertised. The seasoning process took from opening the unit until ready for cigar inventory only 31 hours. Just follow the instructions carefully and throughly. After that, in the week since I have it up and running, the temperature and humidity has been stable within +\-2 degrees and the humidity level was and remains +\-2-3% rh without any problems or necessary adjustments or intervention. My only criticism is that the unit needs an additional drawer and unfortunately Needone does not sell ones for this unit. The ones on Amazon are for the older units. Also the instructions call for changing the cotton humidifier element but Needone doesn’t sell that either and a search online cannot source it anywhere and finally, based on my testing and if there were three drawers available then the most realistic and practical number of cigars, based on stacking 75 cigars in each drawer would be 225 loose cigars, a lot less as originally configured with one drawer and with a shelf. Overall this is a 9 out of 10!
I have had mine for about a month and it's working great. Two other improvements I noticed based on reviews I watched on previous model. 1. The door doesn't have to be opened as far to pull out drawer/shelf. People had mentioned the door needed to be open almost 180 degrees to slide out drawer/shelf on previous model. 2. There is a small fan mounted vertically on the back wall to aid in recirculating air to maintain humidity throughout the cabinet. I saw videos of people adding a computer fan to perform this on the previous model. I have put a couple hygrometers at different locations and they come within 2 degrees and within 2% humidity regardless of location except right in front of the water drawer on bottom of cabinet. Not a surprise and don't see storing anything there anyway.
Have 3 48L NeedOne units, all are rock solid keeping temp/humidity. I use Boveda 320g packs, they last over 6/8 months before replacing them. No service issues, had them for about a year now, very satisfied. Only knock is the light on top, useless, happy to see NeedOne solved the problem, now I can get in trouble with the wife for wanting to buy the new one! Thanks A Lot Tim!😊 Great reviews, keep up the great work, Merry Christmas to You and Yours!
I'm going on a year with my Needone 23L, and it's been working flawlessly. An absolute amazing product. I'm happy to say I've filled it to capacity and will be buying a larger unit soon. I've done one mod to my Needone. The lower section tends to have higher RH. I've added a small computer fan and used the drain hole for wire routing. I only turn the fan on a few times a week as humidity rises at the bottom.
Hands down the best review I’ve seen so far regarding the Needone unit! I recently purchased (last month) the 2nd generation 48L and at first I was hoping this was for my particular unit but then saw it was a different model. Definitely love the LED light on this and the RH reader is also a great touch! As for my particular unit I need to open it occasionally to monitor the RH but I ordered the Govee hydrometers. I have 3 large 65 Boveda packs that I Velcro’d to my door and it works great! My only concern with this is the water unit takes up a lot of valuable cigar real estate especially if you have tons of cigars. Great looking unit nonetheless!🔥
I have i believe 2nd generation needone heating/cooling that i humidify with boveda. My only issue is that you need the ambient temperature within 5 degrees of humidor temperature or the RH drops like crazy. Living here in the brutal summer heat it is hard to keep ambient temperature low enough without spending a bundle on air conditioning. Does this water humidification work the same in regards to worrying about ambient room temperature?
I have an air conditioner in my studio that is set all year long. It stays between 72 and 75° all year. I haven’t had any challenges with the humidification drop in this new unit at all with that water tray in there. It has not spiked in humidity either despite it being cooler out and the unit operating with the fans and cooler temperatures. I’ll keep an eye on it when it starts to warm up here in the next 4 to 6 months and come back and let you know.
I have not seen one available yet, but I’m sure they will be coming out with them soon like they have with the previous generations. Thanks for checking out the video, enjoy your cigar journey!
@@CigarShowTimappreciate the reply, my Needone has been flawless for the last year, but it’s full. I will be ordering this upgraded model, no more having to buy Bovida packs 😁
Intrigued, except for the wobbly footing as you opened and closed throughout your review including the loading of your cigars. Are there adjustable feet on the front or rear?
The wobbling was because it was set on a cardboard box for the video. It has four adjustable feet on it and is really stable. Sorry for any misleading/confusion.
Thanks for the reply to my comment. I understand that the Boveda packs cannot be in water. I just want to buy this and use Boveda instead of water because I think that they are more reliable and accurate. I would use 69rh👍🏻
What replacement humidifier filters do you purchase to replace the two it comes with? It says they need replaced every 1-2 months. I couldn’t find replacements on their site or anywhere else. I’ve ordered something off Amazon that I’m hoping to be able to cut to size.
IMO, any company that is trying to market a humidor without humidification packs in mind, is just cheating their customers. All of these old humidification methods are so inferior to 2-way humidification that they are damaging the sale of their product by going any other way.

Can you provide a link to the model reviewed (gen 3)? Having trouble finding the same model. Thx

Do they have an extra tray available for purchase to replace the shelf like the previous model?

@WigWagWorkshop I am about to buy one this week. I emailed the company, and they said no, they do not make a drawer or shelf at this time.
Thank you for the follow up answer!

Is it possible to use Boveda packs instead of the water? I would rather place 2 boveda packs in the water tray if it would work.
In theory yes, but boveda isn’t intended to stay submerged in distilled water, but just placing them in the tray will be just fine.

I haven’t looked into it yet honestly. Please let me know what you find.
I found them on only one place-Aliexpress. $10
Dang it. Just a few days late for the discount code. I think the 48 will be too big for me.
