I always feel so loved after watching your videos! I really appreciate the education that you spread so gracefully and generously! Happy Solstice and Holidays and to your whole team!
With regards to pickles, cloudy liquid in Polish gherkins in brine is a result of the natural fermentation process. The brine is made of water, salt and some specific herbs - no vinegar!
In Canada there is something called Second Harvest, which many grocery stores and restaurants partner with to rescue outdated but still edible foods for local foodbanks/soup kitchens etc. I work for one of the major grocery retailers in Canada and we send A LOT of food to the food bank through Second Harvest. (So much so that my small town can't always handle the quantity.) The foods we can't send to them (we have to be able to freeze it, if it's not boxed or canned) - vegetables, fruit and some other things largely goes to compost. Things have changed A LOT in the last couple years from where we were at when I first started working for this particular company. There is always a long way to go, but many improvements are truly been made.
I loved this video! I am a healthcare provider to adolescents who often are living with food insecurity. In our area, there have been efforts similar to Fazla (not as good I don’t think) but it’s called Foodlink. They go to many locations in the city selling “less than perfect” produce, free to those on food assistance already. They are also a presence at my city’s public market 3 times a week. Still, access is hard. The clinic where I work is inside a high school and the teachers keep a good cupboard for kids whose families need groceries and they can stop any time to take food home. They do the same with clothing. Now it’s our holiday time and we in the health clinic got to choose some patients we know are very needy. It was so hard to choose in the next week many families will get enough for the holidays and then some. Thank you, Refika, for this wonderful video, for always remembering not to waste, to make healthy food, etc. I always watch your videos and this one really resonated with me! Much love to you, your staff, everyone in Türkiye! ❤❤❤
Refika your concern for health and humans is very informative and touching. We can learn lot from you to improve the world. Alot of food is wasted not only in our country but all around the world. Its a lesson to all of us not to waste food. Thank you. Keep it up ❤
I love your energy, I love your content in your videos. You are a blessing to anyone's life your a part of. I love how informative your videos are for all of us. Thank you!
Thank you for your hard work! I watch your channel for many reasons: first, I like you as a presenter - you are beautiful, lovely, likable, lively, knowledgeable and have good intentions, you are funny and pleasure to watch; secondly, because of your team, I love Bahar reactions, comments and the way she likes and eat your food, she is gorgeous btw, thirdly, your videos have good energy, it makes me alive and wanting to cook and try new dishes, and of course, I love Turkey and Turkish food (aaaah, who doesn’t). Love and best wishes from Canada to you personally and to Turkey as a whole!
Each country has different rules about marking eggs and/or egg cartons. Usually, from the big egg producers in the U.S., there is a date on 1 end of the carton, as well as a number between 1 and 365. The number is the day of the year on the Julian Calendar on which the eggs were packed. On the Gregorian Calendar, the 1 corresponds to January 14th.
Refika I am from Pakistan. Love you and your cooking for various reasons: First, you resembles alot with my late valide, whenever i miss her I watch your videos. Second, the way you care for providing ease, even considering and making inflation videos and suggesting alternates. (I don't think i ever came through a chef who consider INFLATION while cooking and not use fancy ingredients)❤❤ Third, the way you give the history of dish before cooking and in-depth traditional knowledge. Fourth, giving DETAILED explanation of all the steps and not missing anything, it makes following them so easy. Fifth, the recipes themselves. We stopped going to Turkish restaurants at our place because of you and Ayesanur Altan. Now I just cook Turkish cuisines by myself. Thankyou so much for all these amazing things. ❤
l love the underlying message about not wasting food. There is still plenty of food in the world to feed everyone, so why are people still starving. It is a shame on humanity. Great video!!!
I admire your dedication to your community and our earth. I wish we had less regulation that made this possible in my community. Making that amazing Gavurdağı for a Christmas party. IT IS SO GOOD! In the spirit of bereket I'll be adding the soft avocados I have that need to be used. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Lots of information in this video and as usual in all your videos we learn something new, thank you for the rich content that you always work hard to bring it to us and keep going, looking forward to seeing the upcoming video
Hello from Down Under,🦘🦘Thanks you for a gret video as always. It's wonderful that you guys are educating the world about food waste. Given climate crisis and everything else in the world I hope you will also suggest to people that if they have a house with any land, please grow food, and share with community. Fruit trees, beans, herbs, cabbage, whatever. This is the only way the world will survive in the future as supported by many scientists around the world! Thank you again for your informative friendly videos!!❤❤🌻🌻
LOL. It is so interesting that your news clip about food waste came from Canada....it is truly shameful how much food is thrown away by grocery stores. They would rather throw it away than sell it cheaply. Thanks for this great review! Happy Holidays!
👍 Excellent 😍 spreading awareness and responsibility what we eat and how to store and share food especially in these hard times are very important so thank you guys from my heart💕💞👏👏👏✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ ✨ Helal sana💞🤗
Thank you Refika this is good information. I was surprised about the spices. I had already changed the way I purchase them because of your videos but I still buy some already in the powder form. I have come to like roasting and crushing them myself so much more flavor and goodness. I can also plant some some in the seed form. Take care Refika. Merry Christmas.
I enjoy your videos as always. Food wasting is truly a shame. One area particularly disastrous is the prepared/cooked products, such as that in buffets and bakery.
Blue cheese is SUPPOSED to have lines inside it!! That is where the young cheese has been pierced by needles to allow air into rhe interior, to encourage the mould to grow so beautifully.
I always feel so loved after watching your videos! I really appreciate the education that you spread so gracefully and generously! Happy Solstice and Holidays and to your whole team!
Thank you so much for your kind words! Wishing you a joyful Solstice and happy holidays! ✨💖

I buy free range organic eggs from as nearby as possible. My eggs aren't stamped, but the box has a QR code to meet the chooks; there's a livestream.

Kanalınıza yeni abone oldum. Tatlı öpücükler.
The 'lines' in the blue cheese are where it was deliberately 'spiked' to let air in, because they mould wont grow without air
