Sunja is so inspiring. Her story reminds me of my grandmother. Leaving her home town and starting a new life in nyc. Living through discrimination and misogyny, and still providing for my mother n my uncle.

What a materpiece!! This is so realistic. I see my grandmother, mom and my life through this story.
My grandma is also 94 years old this year. I was brought up by her. I still remember for so many days and nights in my childhood my grandma told me all these vivid stories of her childhood and stories of her family, daily life, how people survive, happy little things, sad moments, also many similar things Japanese did to local people just like in Pachinko.She’s not Korean though, she’s Chinese lived in a part of China at the time was occupied by Japan, the details in the show such as local people were not allowed to eat rice to my surprise are so similar, I never knew the same things happened to Korea, I feel their pain so much while watching Pachinko. These memories is so precious to me, they form a special bond between me and my grandma.
Beautiful series … can’t wait for the next episode 💜
I did watch ep. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, was a really emotional and magnificent experience, all of Pachinko is splendid.
