Helmsman/AB or OS with rating is only required when vessel is close to busy coastal waters, pilotage and in bad weather. OOW might have been filming him 😁
Assalamu'alaikum Captain, Thank you for sharing your daily routines on the ship. I sometimes imagine that time must pass slowly during cruising mode and loading/unloading operations. How do you spend your time? Do your family members ever complain about the long periods you are away from home? When your ship docks at the basecamp or your home country, how long are you able to take leave? What is the farthest distance you have ever traveled? Has your ship ever been to Indonesia? Thank you for the video; I will follow your other videos as well. Wa'alaikum salam.🤝💪☕️🍵☕️🍨🍜
Thank you for your insight Captain. I realised later when I asked you about passengers - of course you don't due to your cargo - doh! (Homer Simpson stylee) Have you found yourself busier due to what's happening in Russia and Ukraine? Are you called Master after the Royal Navy? Junior Captains were called Master and Commander until they were a Flag Captain. Obviously different in ranking in merchant ships, no such thing as a Flag Captain. Master and Commander : Far side of the World (starring Russell Crowe) was based on books by Patrick O' Brien. The Aubrey and Maturin series are brilliant.
Ah you bring your own dishes back to the Galley, I've seen some senior officers just leave it on the table. Good housekeeping 😊
Manners matter onboard 😁
@MustaphaZehhaf absolutely, keeping the vessel tidy is everyone's responsibility
Interesting! Why is there no helmsman and an officer on watch on the bridge? Greetings and safe passages!
