One thing you missed though here. Reddit and google signed a partnership together so that's why the SERP is so squied towards them. However, I definitely agree that as a general rule, backlinks are super important
This does frustrate me! One of my most annoying competitors has thin content which is out of date, promotes obsolete products, has broken links, broken images and must give a terrible user experience. The only thing I can see is that it's an older site with more backlinks and referring domains than me.....GRRRRR! Gaz.
Say one admit backlinks are not as important as a ranking factor they were in the past, that means you will need more backlinks to rank right? And if you need more backlinks to rank , that means they are important... 😁 Great video Julian !
