I left my very abusive ( physical, mental, emotional) husband. Together 24yrs and 6 kids. I gave my life to Jesus. Without my husband in my daily life, I've completely surrendered to God and have drawn closer to Him. I attend church, read Bible and pray. I'm in total awe & tears of joy everyday for how God has got me through this. Supernatural peace, strength & provider. God is healing & restoring me to a better version. Cause it was the "Christian" counselor. In the form of my Grandmother who was actually a preacher. "It's the woman's place to make the marriage work" Then here comes all the misquoted scriptures. So my Mother felt less than a woman. She felt like a complete failure, like a poor representation of what a good "Christian" should be. Till she got tired. My Mother divorced my father when l was 7. Boy oh boy! They (Family and everybody who knew.) talked about her like a dog. In spite of all their talking, they never lifted one finger to help. Soooo. Do you. To Sister Yolanda . I was also in an abusive-very abusive . He took a Saturday Special. This is a gun With no safety. He put it to my the temple of my head and pulled the trigger twice. Not a bullet was released . Praise God ! Hallelujah Then he to the door which was opened pulled the trigger again Only this the bullets ejected from the gun. I was Blessed and always Blessed. So I sat and wrote a letter asking for deliverances. December 25, 1973, I wanted to see my father he started to fight my dad was not at home. I went to the back door to see if he was there. As I was coming to Front I met a fist to my face. we fought , we got in the car and went home . Try ing to commit Suicide , I dranked some ammonia. In the process of going to the hospital we’re in a horrible accident There’s were many more incidents. I prayed diligently . God set me free from it all, I know what what you have been through. This is so true! Not only do women get abused in a marriage or a relationship, but so do the children. I was one of those children that went through this with my mom. Ladies it is not worth putting yourself through abuse of any kind. Whether it is just you or especially if you have children, don't do it! Get out, get help, turn to Jesus!
I could've save myself a lot of heartaches had I listened to that still voice. Soon as we step out of the will of God, we ignore that still small voice, telling us "No, Don't do it," that's when we run into problems. Lesson learned.

I was delivered from an abusive marriage over 19 years ago. My testimony is very similar to Yolanda's. I was abused in every way possible, mostly physically and verbally. I thank God for His grace, mercy and so many other things. My ex-husband and I are friendly now. It took years of forgiveness, repentance, prayers and fasting. He had an accident 14 years ago. He's a quadriplegic. I went to the hospital to pray for and with him. We have 3 children, 2 in heaven and 1 living. My oldest son passed away on my birthday in 2017. Forgiveness is a choice! I'm going to see my Father God, Jesus Christ, my children, other family members (blood, extended and the Body of Christ) some day. It wasn't easy BUT God helped me!

I went through almost the same. but mines was more mentaly and emotional abuse almost lost my mind. But God stepped in when i called on him . He interviened in so many ways protected me and the kids and provided. But i married mines out of ignorance in those days. the church i went through i never heard of unquallyyolked and i never new that God does have a specific spouse for each of us if we acept it. But when my ex left us and i cryed out to God i was in so much pain i knew i made a mistake .i repented and told God you pick my new husband. He started healing me and did bring me across a man. i felt he was the one .this is years later. so i went home and prayed for confirmation many times cause i needed to know that i know he is of God . I suffered abuse issue from my middle-age, neighbor. Seriously accused entering her property, in which was legally mine. As senior, age 79 y/o. Jailed 2x. But God, praying, forgive, forget, let go and let God. I feel bad, she now deceased since 9/2019. I am doing great, in prayer daily to mighty God we serve!
Tears I been thru it. But only for a moment. GODS angels shielded me one night when the man I lied next many nights tried to stomp my head as I lied upon the road in front of our residence, in front of my seven year old. GOD came through me and I was able to grab that leg as I was out of it and wrap my legs around this demon possessed man to prevent him from stomping my head in the concrete, in front of my child. The church also needs to talk about children that were abused by their parents , caregivers , family members and siblings. These children become adults and look for and attract abusive partners. When's the last time you saw a pastor cast out demons of mental illness? I went to church 3 times a week growing up and all I learned was that church people gossip, have to wear the right clothes and the pastor is worshipped and blessed with a jaguar and range rover.

Cause it was the "Christian" counselor. In the form of my Grandmother who was actually a preacher. "It's the woman's place to make the marriage work" Then here comes all the misquoted scriptures. So my Mother felt less than a woman. She felt like a complete failure, like a poor representation of what a good "Christian" should be. Till she got tired. My Mother divorced my father when l was 7. Boy oh boy! They (Family and everybody who knew.) talked about her like a dog. In spite of all their talking, they never lifted one finger to help. Soooo. Do you. This is so true! Not only do women get abused in a marriage or a relationship, but so do the children. I was one of those children that went through this with my mom. Ladies it is not worth putting yourself through abuse of any kind. Whether it is just you or especially if you have children, don't do it! Get out, get help, turn to Jesus!
I could've save myself a lot of heartaches had I listened to that still voice. Soon as we step out of the will of God, we ignore that still small voice, telling us "No, Don't do it," that's when we run into problems. Lesson learned.

I was delivered from an abusive marriage over 19 years ago. My testimony is very similar to Yolanda's. I was abused in every way possible, mostly physically and verbally. I thank God for His grace, mercy and so many other things. My ex-husband and I are friendly now. It took years of forgiveness, repentance, prayers and fasting. He had an accident 14 years ago. He's a quadriplegic. I went to the hospital to pray for and with him. We have 3 children, 2 in heaven and 1 living. My oldest son passed away on my birthday in 2017. Forgiveness is a choice! I'm going to see my Father God, Jesus Christ, my children, other family members (blood, extended and the Body of Christ) some day. It wasn't easy BUT God helped me!

I went through almost the same. but mines was more mentaly and emotional abuse almost lost my mind. But God stepped in when i called on him . He interviened in so many ways protected me and the kids and provided. But i married mines out of ignorance in those days. the church i went through i never heard of unquallyyolked and i never new that God does have a specific spouse for each of us if we acept it. But when my ex left us and i cryed out to God i was in so much pain i knew i made a mistake .i repented and told God you pick my new husband. He started healing me and did bring me across a man. i felt he was the one .this is years later. so i went home and prayed for confirmation many times cause i needed to know that i know he is of God . And God kept confirming it. Now i can yes get married knowing God himself gave me my husband. I'm gonna be alright.

I feel you Yolanda. I turned down 2 engagements. One ended a month before the wedding. The few months of shame is nothing compared to the "years" of misery had I gone through with either one! I Thank Him WITH ALL MY HEART for sparing me that grief. My husband today is a sold out believer. He's not perfect BUT he loves and obeys Jesus. Wow. This spoke to me so vividly. I almost made the mistake of marrying the wrong person bc I thought society expected that and I already got a child by him so this would be "acceptable". Although I've felt moments of doubt , was this right for my son, I've never doubted that this wasn't the right thing for me. GOD showed me had I gone against the still small voice, there may have been far greater pain than what I ended up experiencing. Glad today that God kept me and continues to keep me. It made me grow up in Christ and get real about my relationship with Him. I've decided to make Jesus my choice.

There are so many women who say...But I took vows before God, when God was not in their choice. A church ceremony does not make it God.
I suffered abuse issue from my middle-age, neighbor. Seriously accused entering her property, in which was legally mine. As senior, age 79 y/o. Jailed 2x. But God, praying, forgive, forget, let go and let God. I feel bad, she now deceased since 9/2019. I am doing great, in prayer daily to mighty God we serve!

Tears I been thru it. But only for a moment. GODS angels shielded me one night when the man I lied next many nights tried to stomp my head as I lied upon the road in front of our residence, in front of my seven year old. GOD came through me and I was able to grab that leg as I was out of it and wrap my legs around this demon possessed man to prevent him from stomping my head in the concrete, in front of my child. JESUS I'LL NEVER FORGET.

Lord I know we don't know how strong we are until we go through trials that reveal our strength. But Lord I'm quietly suffering and don't know how I'll make it through Lord just help me from this sinking ship make it better before it can,get worser. People always come to me for stuff but Lord I'm tired of not having anyone I can run to for help. all I have is prayer and I'm hoping I'll make it through soon. Hold on Chocilate Thunder Cherry- I was you!! I had to learn the power of NO. People will drain your and leave you to die. Then resuscitate you enough to get them delivered again. Wont pray for themselves, fast and nothing else. But the Lord said lead them to Him. If they need help for real they will put in the work and help you to help them. But sister hold on.i asked the Lord for years where are you in my life? Others I pray for get wht they need, I NEED YOU- To show up and show out in My life. The church also needs to talk about children that were abused by their parents , caregivers , family members and siblings. These children become adults and look for and attract abusive partners. When's the last time you saw a pastor cast out demons of mental illness? I went to church 3 times a week growing up and all I learned was that church people gossip, have to wear the right clothes and the pastor is worshipped and blessed with a jaguar and range rover.
Lord, this is my personal testimony, but God kept/is keeping me.
