What I noticed after experimenting with hundreds of shots off and on the ice is that when both hands quickly shoot away from the body before snapping back (which is the way too NHLers shoot) it generates way more power, and also feels way more fluid than when the top hand is simply extended out.
Must be something about extra stretch reflex or a wrist snap it generates but it just makes the entire shot more snappy, like a throw, vs a mechanical twisting of the stick.
    Thoughts?

This is an awesome video on shooting. I saw my son's improvement on shooting off ice and his shooting power gets stronger now off ice. Somehow he can not apply this on ice probably due to his weak supporting leg. He easily falls down when leaning on the stick and lifting the other leg. Any suggestions to improve his stability while shooting? Best regards!

Thanks Jason! Use the weighted stick, don't shoot any pucks just go through the shooting motion and do it on 1-leg! 50 shots on the right leg, 50 shots on the left leg.
