My podiatrist didn't tell me any of this. I am so grateful to find Dr. Emily. I went to my Dr. 2 years ago with pain on the top of my foot and the hammer toe was hurting. He took an x-ray, made me some orthotics and sent me on my way. I wore them for nearly a year but my foot only continued to get worse. My bunion got increasingly worse, I developed plantar fasciitis and increased pronation. I have had to do all my own research, bought all the products at Naboso, I'm doing all the exercises recommended and now my foot is getting better. Thank you Dr. Emily Splichal for all the education you are providing.
👍 Good stuff. I recently had 1 foot corrected (bunion, midfoot stabilized, shortened 2nd metatarsal, and removed neuroma) and the toe butt connection is so obvious now that one foot is all centered and the other still has a bunion. My strongside is now the weak side and the weak is now the stronger side. It's so obvious! My 2nd toe likes to float though. I have to consciously put in on my yoga mat or shoe. I'm still working on foot and leg strength on that side from having to be nonweight bearing for a little bit.
I have Vivo Barefoot shoes but when I wear toe spacers in the shoe my toes are pressed into the side of the toe box. Is there a minimalist shoe you could recommend with a wider toe box? (same issue with xero shoes).
My 2nd toe is semi-rigid and rotated. Can toe spacers help with rotation? My 2nd toe is taking too much force during gait because the great toe is floating.
Can you recommend a good toe spacer for someone with smaller feet? I currently have yoga toes tgat are good for recovery but the silicone between is a bit too thick to wear all day.
I left europ in 2008 in order to walk barefoot in the desert. Cause that was more logic & healthy for me. Beduins live on the floor & barefoor. Back pain is a concept that they don' t know wath it is. They died in good health. Sorry for my ex friends in switzerland who live in a " fake" confort" over food, over material, over tooo much of everything & many of them are sick by the way in their 50...too young

Fantastic! thank you for sharing your knowledge Dr Emily
Any thoughts on if I should wear toe spacers and/or a bunion splint while sleeping? Thank you again!

Your welcome
I manually splay my toes with my hands when doing foot exercises; is there any benefit to wearing toe spacers in that case? Thanks!

Do u recommend bunion surgery? Mine are moderate but they do not hurt. I can hike all day no problem

The problem with toe spreaders is that they spread ALL the toes. For my bunions i really only need a spreader between 1st and 2nd toe
