I heard this piece for the first time last night, performed flawlessly by the University Singers of Syracuse University. One of the most gorgeous, striking pieces of choral music I've ever heard.
My daughter's high school choir performed this, and it's still my favorite that they've done. I cry every time I hear it, and the power they have going into "Laugh lines around the all-seeing eye" gets me every time. Just wow.
I’m singing this piece with the Fargo Moorhead Choral Artists this month, and am honestly flabbergasted that such a combo of fascinating music and generous doctrine came out of BYU. As a less-than-ideal Mormon woman, I’ve had to grit my teeth through the works of some LDS composers … But singing this has been so affirming and so healing.
Heard this for the first time last night at St. Mary's College in Moraga, CA -- a combo of Diablo Valley Community College and SMC choirs -- and it was one of the most spectacular and beautiful things I have ever experienced.
I heard this piece for the first time this summer, when my wife (Kirsten Oberoi) programmed it with the South Shore Children's Chorus in Boston. HOLY MMMMMMOLE- this piece literally left me speechless!! Amazing work 🙌
i heard this performed yesterday it was heavenly!!!!! this piece is truly creative and beautiful. i have never heard a choir piece like it, and i hope you know how wonderful it is
I don't know how many times I have come back to this one and "Time" that Cantus does. I subscribed, liked, hit the bell, and finally told myself, "You doofus! You should let her know how much these pieces mean to you!" So here I am. Both songs found me (as I believe they were meant to do) in one of the worst seasons of my very long life, and I want to thank you because they are helping me to hang on until things get better. Your poetry is as exquisite as your music, and the world needs both so very badly right now--as do I. I don't know how often you get to be the messenger, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that it happens a lot. You were definitely sent. Bless you. 💖🌹
Well, if this comment didn't just make my whole day/week/life! Thank you, truly; it means the world to me to know that my music and words resonate with you. I hope this season passes quickly for you into a happier one, and hopefully I'll be there for you with more music to celebrate!
I heard this song performed for the first time not too long ago, been obsessed with it ever since Edit: Just realized this is nearly identical to another comment here, lol
I was on IG when someone tag the UVU Chamber Choir and I heard part of this piece on the Highlights and I needed to search on UA-cam to see if someone had it and I found it! Thanks for sharing this amazing piece! 🤩🔥✨

Inspiring!! The enphasis on words like "mover" and "maker" give me chills.

And it is SO hard to do
@@whatthefridge1o1 I agree. I'm in one of Dr. Criddle's Choirs right now and he's such an impressive conductor.
