- The 2020 Mazda CX-30 is the Japanese brand's compact crossover for the Philippine market. Decked out in its AWD Sport trim, the crossover doesn't cease to amaze with its gorgeous proportions and clean lines even with a bit of cladding underneath and a bit more ground clearance. Based on the Mazda3, the CX-30 comes equipped with a 2.0-liter SkyActiv-G gasoline engine mated to a 6-speed automatic sending power to all four wheels. Wow. If Caco looks cramp on the back, meaning ang sikip talaga sa likod. Been watching all his reviews and he looks more comfortable on the very back seats of 7 seater SUVs. But again, Mazdas been known to be driver centric
This is my first time watching a video from this channel. Dude you are so great at these reviews. The way you talked about the specs and all was not boring like most in youtube. From high/low mood and tone of your voice, to seamless injection of puns, you did great.

If your perception of Mazda is a mainstream brand, then it would appear that Mazda is very pricey.. But if you look at Mazda as a mid luxury brand, in which Mazda is trying to give you the luxury experience of the premium luxury brands at a very cheap price.. Just think of the prices of BMW, Audi, Benz, and Volkswagen cars.. You are actually getting so much with what you pay..
I agree with that. You’ll often see Mazda vehicles benchmarked with vehicles outside of respective class. They may not ultimately win against the more expensive vehicle, but just the mere fact they’re being benchmarked against the more expensive vehicle says something.....

I have the 2020 CX-30 AWD and i love it! I’m not a car guru, but i really love it and enjoy driving it. Full of safety features too. To each his own, but i love its look esp the interior. The plastic cladding is also not an issue for me, tho it’s a deal breaker for some 🤷🏻♀️ Still, i have no regrets!
What about mpg.? Are you happy with the consumption?
after watching tens of videos from Caco, it feels like this is by far his most favorite car.. he's not even sure if that one problem is a big or a small one.. mazda cx30 nailed it well :D

I really like the design and size of this .....my only downside of this vehicle is the ridiculous huge plastic cladding on the sides, it's just too much
I agree, and its very difficult to clean because if left outside with rain and sun on a daily basis, it will leave nasty watermarks/trails. (Exp based on my crossover with also cladding on sides but not as huge as the cx30s).
I don’t care for it either but look at the vehicles in its class... there’s a theme there.....

if you want this car without the plastic cladding, choose Mazda 3 sportback. Literally same in design without the cladding.

Shelling out an extra 400k for extra ride height is too much since it is more or less a Mazda 3 on stilts like you said. Plus the price is the result of the tax on cars here in the PH. Trust me, you're better off with a Mazda 3 or a CX-5 (if you have the money to spare). You could also go for the pro version of the CX-30 if you don't mind the "cheaper" aesthetic 🤷🏽
This is a replacement of cx3 and cx5 will soon be also replaced by cx-50.
The CX30 basically eliminates the need for the CX3 yes....

It's not official but the reasoning behind the huge plastic cladding is so that you could see the silhouette of the hatchback 3 from it.
Obviously, it's more apparent if you view it from the sides and at a distance.

For a single person or a couple, the CX-30 is good. But for a small family, I think the CX-5 is better. But both are very beautiful vehicles 😊👍👏

@@vedranmatanic3653 So the space of CX-30 is enough for a family with two kids? I have a Skoda Octavia grand coupe 2021 and it's enormous but I'm considering trading it for the CX-30. My only concern is the limited space of the CX-30, besides that, it's my dream car.
@@Venakis1 for our family yes, just enough space. The kids are 3 and 6 years. The car handles and corners so well but is relatively family friendly. The Skoda has MORE space, but the CX30 is so much more fun to drive.
From sedan to cross over SUV, the exteriors just look the same. Why Mazda why?

150+hp??? It’s a shame for a top dog. It didn’t even have the off-road traction assist.
Here comes the lack of regulations and standards of the Philippines come to play. So manufacturers can just throw in a car, underpowered or whatever that cut the cost only to have an entry to any segments.
I just watched the Fortuner review before this and another shame. It’s a huge huge vehicle yet only have an output of 148hp off a turbocharged engine. Wth?!!
Usually, those size of a vehicle can produce at around 290-350hp and with a V6 or V8s.
Definitely the price is my problem.. I totally love to have this car, but there are alternative chinese cars that are at least 400k-800k cheaper. Changan CS75 Plus, Geely Coolray, and the new Chery Tiggo7 Pro offers a lot with a better warranty while undercutting the price so much...

I think it's price is worth it. 2M pesos on a car that feels like north of 2.5M pesos is incredible, but definitely not for everybody. Mazda's attention to detail is just so good. Not a fan of the cladding but everything else is excellent for me.

The 3 is going to be the better handler.... but there are drawbacks to the 3 too that might push one to a CX30. I don’t care for the cladding on the CX30. Aside from that, it’s an exceptionally nice vehicle and has to be considered one of the best in its class....
The price in the Philippines is too much. I don’t know if it’s because of the tax, or the dealer’s pricing. With 2M pesos, you have lots of options available to choose from.
Premium kasi target ng mazda. Ganda nga naman ng features. Kaso for hampaslupas like me pag may 2m ako, cguro 2 auto na bilhin ko lol

Mazda made an amazing car here the red is absolutly to die for but those black plastic trims around the wheels arches and skirts are such a bad choice! They need some wider arches too! Like the Megane

My dream car that is closest to reality (base model)
CX30 never really wowed me especially at night because I've had a tough time with visibility. The headlight did not properly illuminate the road ahead.
Ended up buying the CX-5 over this one. I preferred more room and space but needed a vehicle smaller than a mid-size SUV. Perfect size for me. The 2nd-row seats on this one were too cramped and the plastic cladding on the side is so ugly in person. Like Caco mentioned, it doesn't have the same elegance as the other vehicles in their lineup.

Medyo masikip talaga sya sa loob. But the quality and looks definitely feels like you're in a german brand car. Too bad it's too pricey in the Philippines. Proud owner of this beauty here in the middle east, and the cost is equivalent to only 1.3M pesos here.

i will be needing these cladding it should be protruding some few mm to serve as side bumpers to prevent dents or scratches when some mudafkah parked next to you open their door so wide

The problem with this car isnt the looks or the backseats but in the Philippines is its price. Too expensive for a 2.0 engine and subcompact, should have been 2.5 at least and pricing at the same as the cx 5 gas awd is just dumb. Should've been price 1.7 for the top variant.
The problem with this video is that there's so much focus on the person and the talking rathern than the car.
I probably won't buy another Mazda just because their implementation of Android Auto is just... Terrible. Waze just isn't designed to be used without touchscreen. Too many times I've looked at my screen for longer than I should just trying to select a button with the knob controls which would otherwise take half a second using a touchscreen.
The rotary knob works well with MZD connect because it has few buttons that are easy to commit to muscle memory. That just isn't the case with Android Auto.
This would be my favorite looking vehicle in this class if not for all that plastic cladding on the sides. Dahil dyan, the Geely Coolray looks better overall for me.

Basically a heavier, thus slower Mazda3. The additional ground clearance ain't worth it. Top of the line Mazda3 is a better buy.
