Grandparents are what I miss the most about this time of the year. My grandparents lived in houses a few minutes away from each other, so for Christmas and new year we would go see my mother's side early in the afternoon, then we would go visit my father's side for supper. One year one of the kids decided to walk instead of going in the car with the parents. We decided to all go together. It became a tradition that we kept until some of us were in our 30s. When new kids were added to the family and they were old enough, they would go with us. The first year where we did not get to do that hit me hard, I miss those days
