This stretch is essential in the prevention of lumbar disc bulging (herniation injuries), and essential for people who have had disc problems in the past and for those at risk, and all those of us who get pain from sitting, bending and lifting. Aim for around 3 sets of 10 repetitions (each repetition around 2 seconds stretch at the top) per session.

I was given a similar exercise to do however my physio said to breath out fully, and hold, when I was at the top of the stretch. Does this sound reasonable?
Should we breath in or out while pushing up?
