Hi everyone!! Thank you so much for your kind comments! Just to clarify, I’m sticking around and will be stamping. You just won’t see many Stampin’ Up! products from me! Also, the bundle has sold! Thank you!

This is the first time I have seen your video. It was an odd one to see for the first time because I do not know you or your work . I just want to say that I admire what you are doing. We must be and do what is good for us. Crafting is fun for me but I could never keep up with it if it was a job and I needed to do all of the work that crafting entails as a job. It’s a lot of work. Good luck. I look forward to seeing you again

I’m so sorry to hear about you leaving SU. I’ve watched your utubes and I enjoyed watching the projects you created. Because you are so crafty I’d hate to see you give up everything. Have you heard of Creative Memories? I love that company. I actually rejoined about a year ago. Before Katrina I was a CM consultant for 13 years and back then you had to order monthly. I lost my customer base so I had to quit. I really missed CM and I rejoined as an Advisor (that’s what you are called now). It’s was a no brainer. You join for $49.99 and you DON’T have to order monthly. You don’t have to sell products if you don’t want. I love scrapbooking photos both regular meaning place photos in an album and I have created a digital photo album. I think that with your talent you could be a good advisor and share CM with your customers that followed you with SU. If you are interested in any info about CM please let me know and I’d be happy to provide any info. I myself don’t need CM as my income. I have been retired now going on eight years. I understand if CM is not for you but here is my website in case you want to see what CM has to offer. We have paper, tools etc like SU and you can create cards but have no stamps like SU. So here is my site if you want to check it out. Https://creative memories.com/user/leslie-morton. I do live in La but there are Advisors all over the place. Hope you check it out. Thanks Leslie

This is the first time I’m seeing you. You popped up on my feed. I’m glad you are doing what you need to do for yourself. That is very important. Funny this popped up because I’ve been searching for the whale tail paper punch. Maybe that’s why. It’s near impossible to find that punch. I even keep checking the thrift stores. If you know anyone let me know. Stay healthy!

I started learning through joining a group that did Stampin' Up classes. That was my introduction to card-making. There was never any pressure for me to join but around 2014 or 15 I learned how much more there was to the stamping and card-making world. So, I branched out and started buying other products. It opened up a WHOLE NEW WORLD of creativity. It was wonderful. I knew I could never keep up with "selling" for a company like SU, and I didn't want to be beholden to them. I started selling my cards on Etsy and then later created my own website. I now do a lot of custom card orders for people. I ALSO have chronic illness/pain, so I get it! You are not alone in your suffering and struggle to want to be creative and know that it helps you but also not wanting it to be something that drags you down when it comes to selling. So, I guess what I am saying is "YOU DO YOU". You do what works for you and make it fun. You can do it! I've never watched your videos before. Your video popped up in my feed and so I watched. But, I feel a kinship, so HUGS to you. Hang in there.

Sweetie, Life is short.... do what makes you happy. I do it as a hobby, also. That enables me to buy and use whatever I want. I don't like selling either. It is stressful and at my age, 71, I don't need any more stress. Hugs to you. It is nice to hear your reasonings. You did it with class and you did not feel the need to run down the company to justify why you are following your own path. Good for you. May everything work out for you. I will be popping in to watch you create.

GIRL~! I think you are beautiful. Sometimes in life we have to stand still for a few moments...and more often we need to take a step back to get a new footing. Even falling on one's face is still a forward motion. Your health has to come first. Once you get that settled down your beatutiful creative mind can soar. People out here care. Be strong, be safe and trust your instincts. the world doesn't end in a minute from now. Blessings

Laura Raven , what a brilliant saying, “even falling on ones face is a forward motion” that is an inspirational quote that I am going to remember, it is so encouraging. This is the first time I have watched this lady and I really like her, she has an honest face and demeanour. I am a crafter but not a card maker, so don’t know about the products, but I have subbed.

I really like what you had to say, I am someone who dreams of creating pretty things but has no skills or clue as to make it happen, I do not have an eye for putting colors or patterns or anything together and thinking it looks good. I have been trying to be “crafty” for about a year and I am very seldom happy with the outcome, but I keep trying. My family encourages me because they have liked things, such as cards I have made. But I just love watching you and many others create with such beautiful papers, dies, stamps, inks, etc. and it keeps me going. My joy comes from people like you who put your talents out there so people like me can “learn” from them. I will definitely continue watching and be forever learning. Thank you for all you do!

I can completely understand where you are coming from. When I first got into card making, I thought it would be cool to be on a crafter team. After watching hundreds of videos on YT and Instagram.... It became apparent that the requirements would be demanding and take the fun out of being creative. Good for you, to be able to come to a decision that allows you to enjoy your hobby.

Since this lockdown, I’ve been watching a lot of UA-cam videos, and have gotten into other products. I’ve gotten a lot of Arteza stuff, - watch Vianney Luna - she uses all kinds of products and is incredibly talented. So I’m subscribing to your channel hoping to see new and different stuff. My first full time job was at a computer store, supposed to sell computers. I am not a salesperson either. I like to help people, not pressure them or rob them. If they had a problem and I could tell them how a computer and certain software could help them solve their problem, I might sell a computer. After awhile management noticed and instead of selling so much, we offered a free hour of "training and setup" for every $1,000 they spent. And I went to their homes and unboxed everything, put it where they wanted it, set it up for them. Taught them how to turn it on and off, how to install the software and got them up and going. It was a better fit for my temperament and skill set than trying to make people part with their money.
I ended up going from there to the main headquarters for the franchise and working in technical support on the phone lines. We aren't all cut out to be sales people. It is sad that sales people make more money, but it's really the customer service people that keep a customer coming back to buy again, right?

    • @vmm5163

I've left so many companies and utility services due to bad customer service alone, and I stick with those who are interested in helping customers, regardless if they're a little more expensive. I wish all companies had staff (representatives) like you. You wouldn't believe how thankful we are to have you. So, Thankyou! 👍

I was a demonstrator many years ago when you had to do parties. At first the dollar amount you needed to meet was not that much then they raised it and I quite forever. I have bought a few things from them over the years but I have never liked their shipping cost when other companies do so much better. Don’t ever feel bad for making your decision there is so much life out there to enjoy and it never, never matters what others think. It’s your life not theirs.

  • @112seedsoflight

Thank you for expressing your thoughts about this. I also recently became a demonstrator but realized every video I watched that showed using the products was 50% selling other products. After a while, I hated that because I already had those products - don't waste my time trying to sell them again! I have felt sick at the amount of money I spent in the first 3 months - I have everything in a drawer that I have never used because I can't figure out how I feel. Basically sick to my stomach when I see that drawer. I understand how you feel. I hope your health stays strong.

Misty, I admire your courage. I myself am struggling with whether or not I should keep going. I have so many other things that interfere with SU. I just got two downline but they are remaining hobby. I can’t get into a groove or routine. I’m spending an incredible amount of money. I love the hobby and sending cards and things I have made to family and friends, but I think I need to take the pressure off and stop worrying about it. I need to stop buying what I “think” I can sell or demo, because I’m spending and not making anything in return. Anyway, I just spilled my heart to you. I look forward to seeing you in the future.

I agree with you! I love what I do, but hated the MLM way that my company did things. It was a 3 year struggle to give them the boot, but after 16 years of dealing with the MLM structure, I walked away and have never been happier. I can now focus on what I love and enjoy and share the marvelous products that other companies have. My favorite companies are the ones that have products that compliment each other and can be used multiple ways. Good luck to you

Well done Misty 💪🏼⭐️🎉❤️ You’ll feel so much better for having this weight off your shoulders.
And you probably won’t realise how much weight it was until months down the track.
I was a Creative Memories consultant back in the early 2000’s.
It was incredibly limiting when scrapbooking was really exploding and so much new exciting stuff was coming onto the market - and I was trying to remain loyal to CM.
Like you, I didn’t want to sell...I just wanted to scrap with others and show them great product.
And CM product IS wonderful...it’s just expensive. And to maintain that amount to retain my consultant status was quite stressful.
I just watched a video on Maremi’s Small Art channel about her leaving all the design teams she was on and her reasons. It was the stress and anxiety related to meeting deadlines etc (and so much more obviously) but a wonderful video to watch if you want to have a look at hers too.
You have definitely done the right thing. You have a wonderful heart and I hope you feel so much better for your decision.
Stop worrying about offending everyone, your mental health comes first. 🥰
I’m definitely subscribing as I’ve just found you. I look forward to seeing your journey from here.
    Congratulations Misty. 🥰🥳🙏🏼🌸🌈❤️🎉👏🏼

I am so with you! I did SU for 5 years and I know I am not a salesperson. I did this as a hobby & for the discount. When the virus happened I wondered what SU would do as a workaround. Like you said, so many people were out of work or needed to watch their budget SU did nothing! There was no information to demonstrators telling us there was an extension or some sort of reprieve to meeting minimums. You are so right. Creating and demonstrating requires selling with SU. I use many products and LOVE Stamps Of Life and the interaction products from Lawnfawn. Good luck love! You will soar with this new venture you are about to partake. 💕

Hi Misty! I'm excited to see your new, re-modeled craft room! I've been an SU demo for almost 16 years and I love it! I'm more than a hobby demo, but not a business demo. When things have been "normal", I have about 6 Stamp Camps per year. I just make cards and my stamping friends (I guess I could call them customers) love to come over here and stamp and we have a lovely time, and some of them buy things! Some don't buy that night, but they might buy another time. And I'm VERY low-pressure, and if a newbie gives me an order full of things that don't make sense, I talk to them about what they want to make, and I help them choose things that will help them make what they want to make and get the most for their crafting dollars. Sadly, the last two Sale-a-brations weren't great for me because last January I had a huge shoulder surgery and was in rehab through June! This. year I had a knee replacement in early February, and if it wasn't for the virus, I would've been ready to have Stamp Camps again by early April. But then there's the virus. I was blessed to have some of my customers still ordering from time to time, and happily, a gal who was actually in my downline for a year or two about 7 years ago contacted me and wanted to sign up again! Then today I got a phone call from another customer who hadn't ordered in several years and she placed a nice order. I told my hubby its was like Old Home Week!! So I still love it. For me, the money I make through SU helps pay for my own purchases. So maybe I'd call myself a break-even demo, except that I buy way more than I make, so I'd LIKE to be a break-even demo. One of my dearest friends is someone I met at Convention in 2008 and we're very close. Another close friend is a downline and we love sharing our creations with each other through text (she moved to another state, unfortunately). My customers are very loyal and one gal (and now her friends) has been coming here to stamp since January of 2005!! But I'm not an online demo and I don't make videos, though hubby is saying that maybe I should have a Zoom session to show them what I'm making and such. So that's kind of my Stampin' Up story. I'll still be watching your stamping videos and I wish you all the best with your health struggles. I'm a lot older than you (Medicare age! ) and I've had health struggles too.

This is the first I have seen your video. The title caught my eye so I watched the whole thing. I have been a Stampin' UP! demonstrator for less than 2 years but I understand what you are saying completely. There is a very fine line between encouraging upline people and pressure to grow and sell. I am not a good direct sales person. And sometimes I feel like I'm not doing something right. Then I remind myself, I'm doing this as a hobby, not to make a living or achieve stardom. I love making cards and I enjoy teaching others how to make them. So thank you for your words which have encouraged me to be true to myself!

Bless you for your honesty. You are not alone in your unrest about selling in a multilevel marketing company. I’ve been there, done that. The term ingenuous is quite accurate. I was told to view people as potential customers rather than friends and acquaintances. If you become moderately successful the pressure increases and you’re on a treadmill. I admire your for not putting the blame on SU. it boils down to our own choices and whether we want to make the necessary sacrifices and reshape our consciences to achieve the goals set out for us by the company. Like you, I didn’t have the heart to be an aggressive salesperson. The fact that you had health issues on top of all that pressure broke my heart. I’m so happy you’ve set yourself free by admitting the root of the problem and going public! Sweetie, you’ve endeared yourself to me and a whole lot of people who’ve been down that same road. Thank you for bearing your soul to us.

Thank You so much for your honest and caring video. I left Etsy for almost the same reason. One day I was feeling over anxious looking at my supplies for bottle decorating, jewelry making, card making, etc. And I was about sick to my stomach looking at all my "Stuff"! so I talked to my Angels and they subtly told me to destash; quit Etsy, and do what I want to do. I felt SO LIBERATED once I got all my stuff together, priced everything I don't want/need and put it all in my guest room until the summer is over and the pandemic as well, and have a BIG DESTASH GARAGE SALE outside. Leaving Etsy was the best decision for me. What I found by doing this is I'm NOW CREATING and LEARNING new things without the pressure of making something to sell (hopefully) and this was everyday for years. Once the sales were less and less, and the time put into creating, taking the pic, uploading the pic and writing a description, then waiting for a hit, was getting too overwhelming. SO SWEET LADY, you're going to be fine, and being FREE from all the expectations which eventually becomes WORK, you're going to find so much peace that your CREATIONS will be YOURS!!! GOD BLESS YOU. You're beautiful!!!

Girl! I could have written the transcript for your reasons for leaving SU! lol I joined in 2016 left in 2018, only to join again in 2019, then let it go again shortly after. The first time I left, it was because I realized I was spending way more than I was making, time and money. But I loved creating and sharing what I made. I went the route of “other” stamp companies, but found it overwhelming to have SO much to choose from! SO I returned to SU! on a whim, because I loved their products and they were familiar to me. The selling aspect always bothered me as well. I felt like I was “begging” people to buy from me, when all I wanted to do was share what I learned with others. I love that you are still creating and sharing without the pressure of selling the product. It certainly is freeing!

Lately I have been in a place of not wanting to sell anymore also and try to just enjoy crafting! We all go through phases in our life, where we need to pause, reflect and make decisions that make our soul feel the peace and serenity. My journey started when my daughter died a year ago June 26. A great video. I love watching several of the stampin up demonstrators and have learned a lot of cool techniques, but I get really annoyed with the ones that you can tell are pushing to sell products. A lot of their stuff is great but the prices are ridiculous and I have to REALLY love something to buy. So many options out there that are similar and more affordable. Your honesty is refreshing. Wish you health and good luck in your new journey.

I just happened to 'happen' on this video and watched it out of curiosity and my heart went out to you. Nothing is worth slogging at if it makes you feel ill and stifles your creativity rather than stimulates it, even if it has helped you in the past. I'm nothing to do with Stampin Up, I'm just an occasional buyer of some of their products, usually second-hand via Ebay, as they are too expensive for me to buy new. I know that I certainly would not be able to cope with the stress of the big sell. So I wish you well in whatever you decide to do in the future and I hope you regain your love and passion for crafting. A well-wisher from England. God bless!

Sorry to hear about your health! I totally understand! I have Lupus, RA, Carpal Tunnel, Nurapathy and Fibromyalgia also have issues with my stomach that cause me to get sick at times. I have been with Stampin' Up for a year and I have been stressed out because of not having no customers. I work myself to death and I get nothing! I changed my channel name and everything and I have now gotten to where I feel like no one watches my videos anymore because of what I do. When you don't have any money for the products it's very stressful! I thought about quitting too back before the new catalog came out but I desided to hang in since I was still good. I am always a little late it seems on my orders because we just don't have the money right away. Just got the August - December catalog and I am trying to decide on what to get. So much in both catalogs I want and need but just no funds to get anything! I asked my husband for $100. so I could put in my order. Like you I am not a sales person and I hate feeling like I am begging for money! It's bad enough that I am fighting to get people to just watch my videos now and give them a thumbs up. I am lucky to get one or two on a video and I have way over 1,000 subscribers. Don't know what is going on! I tried to do some live videos and I heard crickets🦗it was so quiet! No one came on! Broke my heart! To be honest I think my subscribers are not interested in Stampin' Up or they are selling it also. I can't even get anyone to leave a comment to let me know what they want to see. Don't know if there getting notifications or what. I even got so sad that almost quit UA-cam last year! But if I did that what would I do.. I would get depressed for sure being home every day in pain not doing anything! UA-cam and Stampin' Up what's been helping keeps me going every day. I think that's why I haven't quit! God bless and stay safe and healthy😇Tammy💜

I had a friend who started to sell SU over 14 yrs ago. I went to her first party, and I was horrified at the prices, so they are likely even higher now. I felt obligated to buy something and I ended up spending $200 for a few things. It was difficult because she would send out emails about new catalogs, and I couldn’t afford to support her business and I felt pressured. I think it was because she had to sell so much to keep going with SU. I think it’s great that you’re doing what’s best for you. This pandemic is going to change how we spent our money and companies like SU are going to have to change!

Thank you so much for your honesty. 🙂 I only joined to receive the discount. But now that my family is really financially struggling, I will no longer be able to continue being a hobby demo. I too am not a salesperson. I do not know how people can make a living through selling these products, especially where I live. First there was an economic collapse. And then Covid devastated our economy. I got too caught up in the "infomercials", where it left me thinking that I needed it all. And left me feeling inadequate because I could not spend hundreds of dollars every month...Also very disappointed that products are not available barely after the release of the catalogue. Perhaps SU should have delayed the release until they could have had a better supply stockpile. Just a thought...Thank you again, and stay safe. 😊❤
